the food here was so delicious! We walked here from our hotel. The food is hearty and the staff is welcoming. Even my picky friend loved it. They even gave us a free try of the soup to see if we wanted it. The biscuits were also wonderful. There is a huge beautiful long table where people can sit and share a meal (and some small side tables, too). It was cheap and healthy. Stop in when you're in the area!

We ordered their curried lamb wrap and thought it was great. Pretty hefty and full of good ingredients like sweet potato and mango salsa. Beautiful space, as well. They have a gorgeous wood communal table, a patio, and serve your meal on a lazy Susan. Employees were friendly and would happily return.

This is a decent soup spot. It's somewhat chill vibe hipster to Everyman themed inside. Somewhat beaten up furniture and not a lot of places to sit at this location, but that's part of the charm. Music fits the institution. Service was fine. They bring your food to the table. Nice presentation for the price. Food was good. I had the corn chowder with crab and spice. It was fairly spicy which I like but didn't expect based on the description. It came with a large biscuit that was nice and crumbly with fruit dipping sauce. It would have been nice to had more protein. Price point was good for the quality and quantity. This is not an expensive place. It is soup after all.

This place is great! Great soups and wraps! I got Ravi's stew which had chicken and a bunch of vegetables in it. It was very flavorful! My husband ordered the grilled veggie wrap and butternut squash soup! The veggie wrap was soooo good! And he loved the soup! Highly recommended and we will be back!

Full disclosure: this review is biased. Meaning: I am a soup person at my very core. I love soup. I can eat it for any meal. It's the thing that gets me through fall, winter, also spring. It is perfect and my love for it is pure and unabashed. Okay, now that we've got that out of the way - this place is great! The soups seem super fresh, and as I was skimming the menu I kept thinking how great the ingredients pairings are in each one. When it came time to order, I decided on butternut squash with pear and fried shallots, and it was packed with flavor! The portion was huge as well - that bowl means business. And that biscuit that's served with it - gahhh, yes! For $10, I feel you definitely get a full meal. /10, would absolutely go back.

    Combo with ravi stew

I like it. They've got wraps, and they've got soups. Order them both as a combo and you save several couple dollars (though the soup is a bit smaller than the stand-alone offering). Wrap is flavorful, soups are hearty. The lamb wraps and chicken wraps were satisfying; not too small, but not too big. The Ravi Stew is just stuffed full of vegetables and chicken; very nice. Chicken hot pot soup was also really good.

Corn chowder and roasted veggies wrap combo

It was a rainy day in town, and I was seriously craving soup. I've heard great things about Ravi's, and since all the other places famous for soup (Soup Nutsy, etc.) were all closed, we decided to trek to Ravi's for a taste. I, naively, thought that the soup and wrap combo came with a full side of soup. Had I known that the soup would be half size (duh...), I would've gone ahead and just ordered soup! The portion of soup I have was by no means filling enough, and I didn't feel wowed by the wrap. I ordered their famous corn chowder and it was DEELISH. You could taste chunks of blue crab in it, and it was a perfect salty spicy mix. The roasted veggies wrap, on the other hand, was mediocre. The veggies were drowning in sauce, and all I could taste was the tomato chutney. My friend ordered the curried apricot lentil soup, and the curried lamb wrap. I tried some of her soup. It was great! The sweet apricot cut through and acted as a great balance to the curry flavour. Didn't get to try her curried lamb wrap, but she said she thoroughly enjoyed it. We both loved the soup, and agreed that next time, we'd order only the soup. The wraps weren't surprising, and the combos definitely not worth the premium. Trust us, order the soup, and you'll get better value for a cheaper price!

Value for money is definitely there! It's the perfect spot for a cold winter day as they have amazing wraps and soups on offer. Today I got the chicken wrap, no soup thought as I thought it would be too much for a weekday lunch. My Roasted Free Range Chicken wrap had roasted yams, baby spinach, edamame, caramelized onions, tomato chutney & chipotle mayo. The combination of the yams with onions was delicious! I really liked the chicken too - it tasted fresh out of the oven. I didn't care too much for the edamame myself but it didn't take away from the overall dish. I ended up packing half of the wrap as I don't know how anyone would have had a full wrap. It's quite filling and very delish! :)

Butternut squash soup and veggie wrap.

I got the butternut squash soup and a roasted veggie wrap for a spontaneous lunch before a movie. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and they have free wifi which is always a nice commodity! They were very friendly when taking our order and the food was prepared quickly. The food itself was good, the soup was a little spicy from the pepper they used I think, but it was not unbearable as I enjoy spicy but it might catch others who don't like the extra spice off guard. The wrap was very large for the price and was loaded with lots of veggies. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again and craving a comforting soup!

This is a definite recommend place if you're in need of something warm on a cold day. Coming in, the cashier is very courteous and welcoming. The restaurant has a big spacious area inside if you want to dine in, or you can opt for the bar seats by the open window. They have a big selection of soups to choose from, and they offer combos with wraps/sandwiches. The food didn't take too long to arrive, roughly 10 mins. The portions were pretty big, which is great as the price of the combo was roughly $15. The mushroom soup had a very clean taste, and there was big chunks of mushrooms inside. It also had a hint of truffle flavour which gave the soup a very fresh smell/flavour. Ravi's Stew is definitely perfect if you want something with a slight kick as the soul was very flavorful and packed vegetables. We got the combo with the butter chicken wrap and wow, the wrap with stuffed which chicken. I was super full by the end, but I was very satisfied with what I ordered. Next time I'll probably get either the soup or wrap haha.

To tell you the truth, from my limited experience of non Asian soups, I found most Western soups I got from restaurant really uninspiring. Either they are so creamy, so salty (really need to watch my sodium level), tasted like canned soup and full of MSG. Porcini Mushroom Bisque we ordered during our Mega food crawl is A-OK! The truffle oil is really the star of the show.. just smelling the oh so good and enriching smell just makes me heart go WoW! I think if I am going to have a real lunch at Ravi Soup, I would have order the combo with a wrap because eating/drinking this light soup alone will be too light a lunch for me. (OK, I guess I can always have dessert after!) The patio at the back for sure is a nice place for a leisure lunch during a nice day. I found inside is a little stuffy and steamy...(maybe from the steam of all these soup warming up on the stoves) However, I can find myself dropping by on a cold freezing snowy winter afternoon for some warm comfort soup......hmmmmm

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

The interior is dry while the bottom and top is moist. It's height and width is too high and wide so any attempts to bite (to get that moist sweetness to mask the middle dryness) just guarantees a joker's smile of smeared sugar... so, overall a decent bun, but nothing you'd dream daily about. Want to also add the store is very well organized with their display of goods and the service is professional and efficient.

It blends a traditional Italian deli style with a modern downtown vibe and is known for fresh panini made with quality meats and ingredients, many imported from Italy. We tried their "Il Padrino" and "Capricciosa" panini, and both stood out with crispy fresh bread and a great balance of mortadella, prosciutto, salami, cheese, veggies, and sauces. The combination of fresh bread, curated deli meats, and flavorful sauces gives each sandwich a really nice touch. Besides sandwiches, they also carry Italian-style groceries like pasta, cheeses, desserts, and drinks, which makes the visit feel like a quick trip to a small Italian market. They have a variety of panini style sandwiches with a fridge/freezer of imported items such as frozen meals, meats, dried and spreads, sauces, cake slices and gelato! All the sandwiches sound delicious! Hard to choose! I went with the Alla Romana $16 (Prosciutto from Abruzzo Italy, Semi-dried cherry tomatoes, Balsamic glaze, Fior di Latte). The bread was crusty & warm - all quality ingredients!! The prosciutto & other topping were plentiful. Great flavours. Fresh! You can tell it was made with care. I was surprised at how big the sandwich was. It was cut in two & placed in a take away container which travelled well. The sandwich was still intact and perfect when I got home. The bread has a good crust but was soft inside to be a good compliment for the filling! I did get a piece of tiramisu & a small single serve cup of gelato from the fridge/freezer to be tried later!! I am a big fan of sandwiches with quality great & quality filling and this checks off the boxes. Staff was friendly and the sandwich is a good value given the top quality ingredients. I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.

I agree that the price for a sandwich plus side salad is quite pricey ($13 including tax) but I like the fact that everything tastes fresh and light, and you have alot of options to customize your sandwich in a healthy way. I ordered the rosemary focaccia with chicken breast, arugula, avocado and chipotle spread plus their usual sprinkle of salt, pepper and squeeze of lime. It's like a gourmet sandwich - the bread was thick, soft with hints of rosemary and yummy. The salad was mostly arugula with carrots- this was very lightly seasoned but at least I won't be hit with itis going back to work! Definitely would come again, although not regularly since it's kinda pricey.
