I would say it was 50/50 people speaking Italian and tourists. The one odd thing was at the end of the meal they reminded us that service wasn't included in the bill which I found confusing. Food was ok, service seemed slow and the seats were extremely close together. Ambience was typical for an Italian restaurant. We ate lunch and weren't very hungry so we split a bruschetta appetizer and a pizza. Our waiter seemed kind of pissed that we weren't ordering more so he asked if we wanted to add mozzarella and tomatoes to our bruschetta and that added €6 to our bill. When we asked for the check he brings it and the credit card machine. He asked if I wanted to add a tip and I said no. The option for no tip was in Italian I think and I pressed something that cleared the machine. He entered it again and asked if I wanted to leave a €10 tip for a €33 bill. The lowest option was €5 so I hit that. European waiters are getting as greedy as Americans. This pissed me off and I won't go back again. read more

This is a tourist trap type of restaurant that we ate as we arrived at Rome after 3 pm. The restaurant itself is nice looking. We expected worse than it was but it is still a subpar quality that the true restaurants you can find in Rome. We ordered the carciofi alla Romana, prosciutto e mozzarella, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, and the ravioli ai quattro formaggi e tartufo. The appetizers were ok. Nothing to rave about. The ravioli were surprisingly good but the cacio e pepe was a disgrace, especially for a dish that is a staple in Roman cuisine. The service was also subpar. We have to repeatedly request for our food and bread. Overall is what you expect from a place that caters to tourists. read more

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have great reviews because I really enjoyed it! It's located near a bunch of touristy spots in Rome, so I was a bit concerned it would be a ripoff, but it wasn't at all. My dad ordered the lasagna and said it had a great flavor. I got a pizza, which had ham, mushrooms, and heart of palm. Even toppings aside, the pizza was delicious! The sauce had a unique taste, almost like a vodka sauce. The service was solid and the food was great! What more could you want? I know this is probably more of a pasta spot, but I was more than happy with my pizza! read more

Found this sidewalk trattoria on the way back to our hotel from the Trevi fountain. Great service. Excellent bruschetta. My wife had the lasagna bolognese and it was very good. When I asked the waiter if they had eggplant parmigiana, he said say no but the chef would make it for me if I wanted to wait 11 minutes! It was also very good. With the fresh rustic bread olive oil and balsamic, e did not have room for dessert. Maybe next time. read more

Got caught in a rainstorm and ran into the nearest restaurant for dinner; it happened to be Ravioli D'oro. Situated smack dab in the middle of a very touristy spot, I did not have high hopes for the experience. While the food was disappointing in my opinion, my friends and I very much appreciated the cheap bottles of wine while we waited for the rain to recede. We got some prosciutto wrapped melon, which is always good. We got some sort of toast with garlic spread that was not good. My friend ordered a pizza and it was so disappointing, he ordered something else instead. I don't remember what it was, but he ate about a third of that because it was also quite disappointing. My friend and I shared a truffle spaghetti; it was alright. Overall, I have fond memories of this place because we were drunk. Don't recommend the food, however. Service was great! read more

I was in the process of checking in, but got side tracked by the fiasco at the table next to us. We were drawn here by the charm of the host. We were directed to a table outside. I was famished after getting off the plane earlier today and walking around exploring for a few hours. I decided on a meat and cheese plate and he decided on a pizza. The host was attentive. He saw how I was enjoying my meats and cheeses and brought me balsalmic glaze. The cheeses were good, my favorite being the bleu cheese. I also enjoyed the prosciutto. My husband liked his pizza with prosciutto and rocket (what they call arugala). It was pleasant. We were sitting outside enjoying ourselves. Then our attention was drawn to the table next to us. A couple being very loud. It progressed and then one of the pair fell asleep. He was falling all over the place, then he'd wake up, turn around and interrupt our meal. This carried on for a bit. The host came and his apology said he had been drinking since earlier in the day. Anyway we paid and left. It was a bit uncomfortable for my liking, and the fact it wasn't stopped was also discouraging. read more

We ate here multiple times on our trip and every time we found a unique array of fantastic options to devour. The T-Bone steak was a fantastic delicacy. I asked for medium and it came exactly as I hoped for I got 1000 grams and it was perfect to share with my handsome dad. This place is full of scammers!!! Do not eat here!! We ordered $5 bruschetta and they ended up charging us $18 because they added $10 worth of mozzarella. I then witnessed the waiters try to charge someone 5 euros for taking their picture. The service was terrible and then they were extremely pushy for a tip and told us 5x tip wasn't included. We still left 2 euros even after the horrible service and the scamming of the bruschetta and they then proceeded to ask us where we were from and snarl that we are American. Walked by this place (while heading to another restaurant) and the man outside was nice and the menu looked good. The 4 of us decided to give this place a try. Well, It is my fault for NOT reading the reviews on this place because they are true! We sat down inside and immediately given menus and our drink order was taken. One of us gave their drink order and the waiter walked away before anyone else could say what they wanted to drink. I had to call another waiter to take the rest of our drink order. With a sigh he called the first waiter over. Our waiter took my wife's drink order and then walked away again before I could order mine! He was out front with two other servers talking to people passing by! I called him back to the table and ordered my beer. It was a complete hassle. Another server brought a basket of bread to our table. We did not order bread, but it was plain and most places that put out bread, it is complementary. My beer came and my wife's Coke never made it. We all ordered our entree and one ordered an appetizer. Our mains came out fast and the app never made it out. Two of us had spaghetti with meatballs. The sauce was a neon orange/red and had a very strange taste. The meatballs were cold in the middle and the noodles were bland. Still no Coke or appetizer that was ordered. Two of us could only suck down a portion of the spaghetti because it was so bad! The third could only stand a few bites of her pasta dish. We had enough and asked for our check. The check had the appetizer and another item that we had no idea about that was 4 Euros. Good thing no Coke since it never came. It took two people to get the appetizer deleted from the bill since it never came. We asked what the other mystery item was and the guy said it was the bread they brought out when we got our drinks. HOLY CRAP, they bring something that was not ordered, and is normally complementary, then charge 4 Euro for it! I told the guy that was complete BS since it was not a requested item, but offered without any mention of fee. We all had enough of it and since it was just 4, we just sucked it up since the appetizer was removed. When the bill was placed on the table the server said gratuity was not included. OF COURSE, we are speaking English so we are immediately obligated to pay a tip just as in the USA. We all agreed to pay the amount due and leave, zero tip was left! Moral of the experience: They will scam tourists, food was worse than a Banquet TV dinner that had freezer-burn, and servers are more concerned a out getting people in, than. the people who are already seated. 1-Star is WAY more than I want to leave. If you're in Rome, you need to take a break from the crowds and the tourists to try this gem, that may seem like a tourist attraction but trust me it is more than it looks. I'm surprised it received 2.5 or 3 stars as the truffle ravioli and mixed seafood with fresh caught bass was outstanding. Cristian was our waiter and he was attentive and suggested these delicious dishes. Couldn't be more happier with our choice of food on the beaten path. Walking through the streets of Rome we randomly stopped at Raviolo d'Oro. It was the best decision ever! Our server Florian was very welcoming, courteous, and gracious, making suggestions on what to eat. We followed his lead and were amazed by the taste and presentation of our meal. The broiled and fried artichokes were delicious. The Scialatielli Ai Frutti Di Mare Con Spigola (Macaroni with seafood and sea bass) and Tonnarelli Carbona Al Tartafu was amazing. Florián even skinned and deboned my Seabass in front of me!We ended our meal with a tiramisu that melted in your mouth and a savory limoncello.
