As per their website, they are a full-service costume, beauty, and wig shop. They also carry party and novelty supplies and make-up. An internet search on Halloween supplies in Kingston is more likely to show you numerous references to the seasonal store in the Hudson Valley Mall. Don't believe it. Go here first. The first floor has the majority of the party (including Halloween) supplies, cosmetics, and make-up ranging from inexpensive stuff for the kids' costumes to professional grade theater make-up. Upstairs is awesome! They have costumes of all kinds including costumes for kids, adults, inexpensive, higher-quality, rentals, etc. Side rooms and shelves include all kinds of props and accessories, hats, plastic weapons, etc. They have several dressing rooms too. I've also never seen such an incredible assortment of Mardi Gras style masks. If you're going there for Halloween supplies, my recommendation would be to go the 2nd week of October. By then they are fully up to stock for Halloween, and the inventory will still be quite full and not yet so heavily picked-over.

I drive for Uber and Lyft, so I couldn't have a mask, but wanted something quick and easy to wear that wouldn't be a hassle to wear and would still provide some flexibility, and although I'd rather not show my costume prematurely, I know I found more choices than the quick put-through I found nearby that I've used the last two Halloweens. I'm glad they've repurposed the former Michael's Arts and Crafts store here. It had been sitting vacant for so long, and with this store, it just felt "too big" with "too many choices". Although I'm a hard-to-come-by size (not even fitting the XL size), when I found the "One Size Fits Most", it seemed it was destined for me - and I love blue/cerulean. I'm not too crazy about it being a "My Little Pony", but it could work. I had other choices, but every size choice I found, just didn't seem to work according to the package information. I was debating on other issues at home for choices this year (re-purposing something), but I do feel my purchase was worthwhile. The checkout process was rather simple, once got through the line that mazed several times with quick service Halloween "fix-its" in this maze. Just wish they would've kept the less maze-like Michaels register aisles and quit the fluff. For those few quick Halloween things, it was a treat to come in. Very very few vintage pieces (maybe two 70s dresses and a few 80s prom dresses) and lots of unauthentic purses and pieces of jewelry (with a few exceptions, to be fair). Most of the store is dedicated to Halloween costumes. Overall, an inauthentic vintage store. They should really get rid of the cheap Halloween costumes and get more vintage clothes.

WAIT, WHAT? She hadn't even shipped my dress yet! When I asked her why she sent me a shipping confirmation without shipping the dress, she stopped responding. I haven't heard from her since. I finally reported her to Etsy, but I probably won't get a refund since she conned me into cancelling my claim. What a terrible thieving goblin of a woman. I hope her business fails.

My purpose here was to seek make-up and accessories, of which they again have a giant inventory. I received great service here. I told them exactly what I was seeking, and within minutes I was given demonstrations and samples of exactly what I wanted - super easy, super fun. When you come here, read all the signs on the doors to find the entrance, as a lot of the doors are locked. The entrance you want is "upstairs" in the back, against the parking lot, the rightmost of all available doors. I was very glad to have re-discovered this store!

I should have had that information. The Costumer is a large operation with three locations in Schenectady. It rents and sells hundreds of costumes and assessories. A call to my daughter resolved those issues. Within 15-20 minutes of my arrival, the order was located and delivered to my car by a staff member. Service was Five Stars I talked to four different staff, and each one was courteous and calm in spite of my impatience during the initial part of my visit. I was a little out of line, but I am going to attribute it to a senior episode. A nice email explaining the delay in locating the order was sent to my daughter by the manager on the same day as my pickup. AND it included a 15% off coupon on her next purchase! Good customer service and follow-up!
