The quintessential place to stop for Iowa City/Iowa swag. To me, Raygun can do no wrong. I found the Iowa City location to be well-stocked. Employees were friendly. Reasonable prices -- like those less than $2 cork coasters -- I have many. If you're in the area for a while and want to see even more of what Raygun has to offer, check out the Cedar Rapids location. Definitely recommend.

Sanitizer offered Wear mask Mugs, post cards, tee shirts, candles, hames, scarves and towels . Many souvenirs to choose from. Priced $$ Great location near shops and restaurants. Street parking I did not see a restroom.

Raygun makes me proud of the Midwest. From the catchy graphics, the human rights based language to the commonly used kitty cat --- I'm all in. If you haven't been, it's truly an experience and one that could take some time to peruse. Perfect for gifts or your self, it has clothing, accessories, prints, unique tchotchkes, and so many treasures. Perfect for your cat loving, human rights and social justice advocates who are proud and expressive about it!

I think my love for RAYGUN is basically because... they talk good. Like, REAL good. Everything they say is pure gold. I wish I were that funny! Walking through their store is the best. Magnets. Art. Stickers. Shirts. Koozies. Pens. Pencils. Post Cards. Glasses. Mugs. Stuff for kiddos, men and women. Games and other trinkets. It's a great store to peruse when you have time to kill, need a laugh or don't know what to get your uber liberal best friend or your midwest living family member. This particular location is cozy, not boasting many square feet of space. But even with the lack of room, this place never seems cluttered or disorganized. The staff is attentive. Pricing seems on point. I LOVE when I see their sale racks outside, there are ALWAYS great deals! Their University of Iowa specific items are always pretty awesome... New Kirk? Because Fran Said So?! Get them when you see them. They are gems and they are limited release more times than not. This location is prime. But parking could be tricky, but I mean-- that is most of downtown Iowa City. Come check them out!

A fun, satirical pop culture apparel and novelty shop that's focuses on Midwest humor. You will find a variety of inside or apparent jokes about many topics here, mostly in a positive way. They do a great job of creating material that will get a second look from those who come across it. I usually stop in every so often to see what's new and for a few laughs.

Lots of local flavor knick knacks

Funny, inventive t-shirts, clothing, and other items. Some memes you'll recognize, others are future classics. Not the Hawk Shop. I like.

I would describe Revival as a Vintage Boutique that buys and resells thrifted and new items + home goods (candles, room sprays, incense) It's been about five years since my return and oh how things have changed! I'll start with the positive first: they now sell sex toys and lube (Maude brand) which is super cool. The candles they sell are so unique and well crafted. What a creative idea to use old fish tins for the base! The not so good: in summary everything's extremely overpriced. Revival use to be more of a thrift store (and yes they still buy and resell thrifted items) but now a large selection of their items are new and well over $100. Mind you this is not a luxury store. Now, I will say Revival has always carried new items and more "high quality pieces" however, today I saw a "preloved" coach bag for $300+ which was insane to me. The selection of clothing is more neutral and basic tones like cream, nude, brown and white. I miss the color and variety that use to be! Today I purchased some groovy sunglasses, vintage Levi Jeans, and some other new goodies. I still love this place and will check it out again the next time I'm in town!

And the inside is so bright with eclectic merchandise tastefully organized -- showcasing shirts, dresses, rompers, pants, jeans, skirts, shoes, purses and accessories... you name it! You also can find something for any occasion, casual or formal. The brands they feature are trendy and while I feel like the price is a bit higher than I'd want to pay-- they do have sales! I have always been greeted with a smile by their staff. And can't say I have any poor experiences. Parking could be tricky, especially with school in session. Enter the pandemic. If there is one positive that came out of the pandemic, it is that so many of my favorite downtown shops now have an online store! I was perusing Textile's Winter Clearance sale... and of course found items (at a whopping 80% off?!?!) I got a scarf and some gloves. I paid via PayPal. And a mere two business days later Iowa City Downtown District delivered my purchase to my doorstep... for free. A win all around. Everyone needs a Ragstock in their life…read more It's this hole in a wall shop at the bottom of some treacherous stairs. It smells kind of funky down there because there are literally racks and racks of used items. They sell new, cheap staples as well. But why everyone should have one in their life, isn't because of the new merch. It is because they sell oddities. 80s lewks. Hawaiian shirt madness. Retro prom dresses at Halloween. Hats you can find nowhere else. Ragstock is unlike any store living downtown. It also boasts a pretty large men's section-- which isn't normal for the district. The price tag is right. The staff is more or less attentive. Park in a ramp. (First hour free!) More times then not, when you're searching for a particular odd ball item-- they'll have it in spades. It's not the most glamorous shop and honestly isn't really a spot I'd frequent on the regular. But it gets the job done and is one of the few like it in town. Stop in Ragstock and up-cycle some used apparel.

Many people mentioned how long they've been waiting as well as the fact people were polite in line and again were told we all lost our privileges to a fitting room and if we don't like it we can leave- exactly what was done not only losing a lot of business today but future sales as well. Looking at Google reviews this is a huge trend of this store so I question if it's policy and acceptable since it is a long standing complaint but its terrible business. There are too many options of where to spend our hard earned money to do so at a place that treats customers so terrible- fitting rooms aren't a privilege, it's a must prior to people handing over their hard earned money for your merchandise. I will never return or reccomend abd hoping to save someone the frustration we went through wasting our time in this store today.

It has been my go-to for formal wear, Iowa Hawkeye gear, shoes, accessories, swimwear and more over the years. But this summer they changed their return policy. I think a lot of it is pretty standard... - Return within 90 days with a receipt: Receive purchase price back to original form of payment - Return after 90 days with receipt or anytime with a gift receipt: Receive purchase price as merchandise credit only. - Return without a receipt: Receive current selling price as merchandise credit only. My issue with this change is with their new FINAL SALE policy. - They cut the tags off your brand new items to ensure you can't return them. Therefore my newly purchased, never worn item that I just so happened to score a great deal on... looks not new. Possible pre-owned. What if I planned to gift someone that item? Don't they deserve to know it hasn't been worn and is right off the rack? (Or in my case, I got a supposedly unworn bikini without any tags... which was unexpected. And kind of weirded me out.) If you need to scribble on the tag, over the barcode-- go for it. But I go to Von Maur for the experience and the unique items sold there. It is tacky and off brand to send new items sans tag. (And when I contacted customer service to express my opinion about said two piece. I was basically shrugged off.) I buy plenty of thrift items for myself and even they include a tag... just sayin. This would be a two star, just because of how I feel about the new changes. But I still stand by Von Maur as a quality store. This change may stop me from getting certain items here now. (#shopsmall, #shoplocal) But it shouldn't deter you from getting full-priced items here!
