This place is the bee's knees. Could shop here for hours. So many cute things - clothes, accessories, home decor, body and self care, thrifted pieces, and even some treats for your feline fam. Also, follow them on Instagram -- they often do a story shopping - meaning they post on their story, if you want it - you message them and like magic, it is yours (of course once you pay online)! They'll ship it to you or you can opt to pick up in store! So many great finds and they are considerate to limit the number of people in store, due to Covid-19. Appreciate that! read more

My all time favorite boutique. Ever. I spent mostly all of my savings here in college, but truly have no regrets. Every time I wear an outfit from here I am flooded with compliments. It is women owned and ran, it's funky/hipster/out there/and just everything you could imagine. They have an awesome selection of clothing (thrift, too!). I used to come here before Iowa games & tailgates to find the best vintage Hawkeye tees. Again, they are my favorite Iowa apparel I've ever owned. They also have so many fun knick knacks; stickers, keychains, socks, candles, wall decor, cards (the best cards, always bought birthday cards here!), jewelry, kids clothes, sunglasses, hair accessories, SHOES, cat toys, blankets, plant holders. I could really go on. It's so different than any other boutique I've been able to find- from Des Moines, to New York (it reminds me slightly of Awoke Vintage in Brooklyn!). Nothing compares to White Rabbit. The selection is amazing and it's so fairly priced that I don't feel extremely guilty buying so many things. Quality of clothes is also spot on. They have cool screen printed tees with funny quotes and saying similar to RayGun. Definitely recommend stopping in, support local businesses and women owned businesses. White rabbit takes vintage shopping and makes it feel brand new. This is one of the coolest Vingtage/Handmade stores in the country. Located 2 doors down from the great record store Record Collector this is one of my favorite blocks in Iowa City. White Rabbit is a must stop if your looking for cool hand made items by local and regional artist. They also have a great selection of Vintage clothes both men and women's. The staff is super helpful and heck they let us use the bathroom even though we did not buy anything this past time we stopped in. Hands down, the best boutique/clothing store in Iowa City. They have a huge range of items for really great prices, and they are constantly getting in new stuff, so there is something here for everyone! They also have really great plant holders, baby clothes, bath stuff, etc, so it's the perfect boutique to stop into if you need to pick up a gift for almost anyone. Additionally, literally every single person that works here is totally sweet and really knowledgable about their products since many of the employees assist with buying items for the store and some of the employees even make items they sell (like Brooke, who sells the amazing air plant hangers, which are just gorgeous). Quirky, creative, and the perfect place to find unique jewelry, clothes, and accessories! My favorite thing about White Rabbit is that almost everything in the store is handmade by someone either locally or through small handmade businesses (many have shops on Etsy). Of course the one downside to Etsy is that you can't see the product in person so this place fixes that dilemma by working out consignment deals with vendors. The overall style is on-trend vintage, with great displays and high-quality items - making this a favorite shopping spot when I'm browsing the downtown stores. read more

Also, being able to actually try items on is super helpful since older clothing sizes vary quite a bit. The White Rabbit rocks. They sell only D.I.Y. art and clothes, jewelry and whatever else. The owners do some cool screen printing, and the jewelry selection is getting better (including some that I make). Shopping there supports local artists, especially since they do a 70/30 split on the profits. Most places do 50/50 if you're lucky. The Hall Mall is also a great place to check out, if you haven't already. They have shows up there and the other businesses are also very cool and support local artists. read more

White Rabbit is amazing. This weekend on our way to a craft fair in Des Moines, IA, my friend Rebecca and I happened to stop in Iowa City to have lunch. We couldn't find parking so we had to drive around and I spotted this awesome little shop and we stopped in pre-lunch. Actually I noticed some of my old roommate's (and co-founder of the craft fair we were on our way to) handmade wallets there and I knew it was an awesome place. There are hand silk-screened shirts and undies (the ones that say ba donk a donk were the best), purses, lamps, posters, greeting cards, etc. You can find a gift for that hard to buy for person on your list here. Trust me. Also now you can find items from my wee craft company, Rhymes with Twee, and Rebecca's company Rar Rar Press here since we consigned our stuff with them. They are doing fantastic for a store that has only been open about a month so far. read more

White Rabbit is okay. Nothing more and nothing less. I went to the place expecting a lot. For one, it's located in the artsy area of Iowa City and has to compete with some of the higher end boutiques and fashionable re-sale shops. I love the fact that everything is DIY and handmade. They have some beautiful pieces, including bags, art prints, small items, etc. Their clothes are nice too, but the sizing kind of stinks. Additionally, some stuff is really pricey. While I love supporting small businesses, I can't afford a $55 bag...I am a college student after all. I wish they had more clothing too, namely women's clothing. I do suggest White Rabbit if you're looking for a unique item...but I wouldn't go there if you want to add a lot to your wardrobe. read more

Before the rise of etsy, before the boom of indie craft fairs, the owners of White Rabbit had a vision to support local artists and offer their work to a wider audience. I'm with Rachel on the pricing. The purses lured me into the store but were far too pricey for me to purchase. But they have an incredible variety of scented candles; I got one in lilac that I cannot stop burning because it's SO intense (though I don't think it's very lilac-ky). White Rabbit is a pretty cool place to window shop. They have quite interesting clothing items as well as art, jewelry, and other accessories. They even have bibs and onesies for your little baby. I love how quirky and different this place is, and I think some of the things they are vintage, however I'm not sure if they are consignment or not.
