Dr. Raymond Cavaliere is an outstanding practitioner. He recently saved the life of a friend in my circle by his skillful observation of her vital signs. He is extremely cautious when puncturing or cutting is to be done, and he uses ultrasound in guiding the administration of cortisone drugs if he deems them necessary. He saved me an expensive and painful surgery years ago by correctly telling me that a surgery was not necessary if I allowed him to treat my right heel spur using an ultrasound guided administration of meds. What a relief compared to the complex surgery performed by a highly regarded bone surgeon on my left heel. If Dr. Cavaliere does not feel he can treat your illness, he is up front in telling you so. He saved a golfing friend real pain by correcting his muscle stance. The same goes for another friend who is a runner. I find Doctor Cavaliere pleasant and engaging, but his bedside manner is not why he is is sought after. His office staff is kind and meticulous. read more

I have been going to podiatrists in several cities for over 25 years, mostly for routine maintenance of difficult toenails. This year, in my late seventies, I was faced with serious toe infections in both feet, and was referred to Dr. Cavaliere by my former podiatrist, who was retiring. I was not aware of how serious these infections were (there was little pain), until Dr. Cavaliere warned me that they could spread if they were not treated. It has taken several weeks, with weekly and twice-weekly appointments, to heal the infections and to treat the wounds. In the course of my treatment, Dr. Cavaliere took casts of my feet, gave me new orthotics and recommended the type of shoe I should be using to prevent future trouble. The intensive, devoted care that Dr. Cavaliere has given me is very impressive, as is the work of his nursing assistants. I have never had to wait for these many appointments, and have been treated with perfect courtesy and friendliness. read more

I was seen by this doctor who performed an ultrasound and x-ray and was unable to tell.me the cause of my foot pain. It was only after seeing another physician that I learned that I have a fractured toe and a piece of the bone has broken off and is resting in the joint. I wouldn't recommend this man to my worst enemy. read more

I went to Dr. Cavaliere leading up to a foot surgery. He was clearly knowledgeable and walked me through each step of the process leading up to surgery as well as the recovery process. He really made me feel comfortable with the process and answered every question I had along the way. His office staff are all friendly and personable. I will never use this foot doctor again! I went because I had bad pain in my feet and they would swell. The doctor took an x-ray and an ultrasound and said he THINKS I have plantars fasciitis Within my 3 to 4 visits (not to mention my $25 Co pays) he would strap my feet to a therapy machine, wrap my feet and send me on my way. I explained between my weekly visits my feet were still in pain and why can't I have orthopedic inserts. He explained a need a certain number of therapies before he can fit me for the inserts. I put my shoes and began to walk out because he was spreading out appointments for the weekly co-pays. He asked if it had to do with money. I said it had to do with him not addressing the core issue. He then says fine, he'll fit me for the orthopedics and to give it about 3 weeks before they arrive. A month later I ask the status, the receptionist said the insurance didn't get back to them so I say cancel them. She calls me a week later to say the insurance paid it. I was livid, but worried about my insurance saying I can't get inserts elsewhere because this place already ordered them. Fast forward to today. The receptionist didn't greet me when I came to pick up my inserts, she just waived me into the room like a dog. After I get my inserts, the receptionist hurrily says I owe money. I figured I owed my $25 co pay which I don't get because I'm just picking up inserts. But she explains it's $75. She says I didn't pay my co pay in August and my insurance didn't cover the x ray. Then she tacts on $25 for today; which makes the total $100. I pull up my online banking to show the co pay I paid in August and asked why didn't they send a bill to my address. They said because they probably have my address wrong, so I ask them to confirm it. They had it correct. Long story short, I'm happy I finally got my inserts but they will stretch services out and find previously paid fees to charge you oh and talk to you without respect if you catch onto their games! read more

So I've been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. I been getting physical therapy from Dr. Cavalere for a month now. The office is spacious, clean and the staff is very friendly as well as knowledgeable. They seems to accept many insurances and they are bilingual. I have never had to deal with a more frustrating doctor in my entire life. I went to see Dr. Cavaliere to have some orthotics made, and also to have my existing ones refurbished. First, simply getting the original pair took weeks on end, as the lab they use is awful and slow. Then, they had to be adjusted a couple of times, more waiting. Next, when I sent in my existing pair, the lab lost them. After many arguments with Dr. Cavaliere and his staff the lab finally argreed to make me a new pair for free. The new pair are totally wrong and have been sent in for adjustments numerous times. Each time I attempt to discuss the mix up with the doctor he is quick to blame someone else and disavow any responsibility for the problems. I first saw Dr. Cavaliere in February of 2019 and I am still having my new orthotics adjusted, it is the end of June... Please avoid his office at all costs, there are better podiatrists any where. read more

Went to the doctor and should have realized how the office operates more like a business than as a medical practice. This is an extremely expensive service, for treatments, visits, custom orthotics, and physical therapy. There are a lot of podiatrists up and down Murray Hill, Kips Bay area. I would highly recommend finding a different practice than going here. And no, after several visits, still not improved. read more

I went to Dr. Cavaliere for a torn plantar plate ligament in my foot. Another well-recommended podiatric surgeon told me I needed surgery. I ended up getting a second opinion from Dr. Cavaliere, who put me in a boot, did ultrasound and other therapy on my foot for many weeks. Now I walk around, bike, play tennis just like new. I was walking around on a really painful ankle/foot for a while, and thought I'd better see a podiatrist. I've been to podiatrists in the past and met some quacks and some really good doctors, so although I just picked Dr. Cavaliere's name out of my insurance company's book, I thought I'd give him a try. The office itself isn't spa-like, nor does it need to be. It's clean and all of the equipment seems to be functioning properly, so I don't know what the other reviewer really needs - I'd rather a good doctor with a shoddy waiting room rather than a bad doctor with a spectacular room. Anyhoo...Dr. Cavaliere was able to isolate my pain and did the standard tests in the office - an xray and an ultrasound (to view the tendons). He thought perhaps I had a tibial tendon tear, so he sent me on for an MRI just to be sure. Luckily it wasn't a tear, but tendonosis, so when I returned to the office we then did electrical stim and ultrasound therapies. He seems very knowledgable and I felt comfortable with his diagnosis and treatment - especially seeing as I've just returned from a week-long trip to London with very little pain from walking all week. He suggested orthotics, which I agreed to since my old ones are 8 years old, at least... So...my assessment is he's a good doctor who knows his stuff and treated me appropriately. The receptionist seems to be on top of everything and is pleasant when I call or go in. The aides he has working for him aren't the sharpest or the most personable, but far from rude. read more

I was lucky to find Dr. Cavaliere. He is very knowledgable and efficient. Unfortunately I needed surgery to remove a cyst on the ball of my foot, but I was in very good hands. The hospital staff confirmed that he is one of the best. I am now pain free and grateful. read more

I would not recommend this doctor for orthotics. The pair that was made for me provided my feet with no support despite being told by the doctor that I have flat feet and collapsed arches. The doctor was difficult to speak with and said that the orthotics could not be corrected and that I needed to wear them with a shoe that had a slight heel. I purchased such a shoe and it made no difference. I took the orthotics to two other specialists both of whom said that the orthotics were not right for my feet and that they were not much better than something I could have purchased at a drugstore. I ultimately went to another podiatrist who offered to send the orthotic out to be adjusted, despite Dr. Cavaliere telling me that it could not be done, but I decided to start over with a new pair and completely different style. The podiatrist give me a prescription for a new pair of orthotics. I took that prescription to Orthotic Solutions and Spencer made me the best pair of orthotics I have ever had and for less money than I paid Dr. Cavaliere. I wasted a good sum of money at Dr. Cavaliere's office. Despite that, I am very happy that I found Spencer at Orthotic Solutions who made me a handmade custom pair produced on the premises, which support my feet perfectly. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Dr. Cavaliere's office but will have all my orthotics made at Orthotic Solutions in the future. read more

I am a fan of Dr. Cavaliere. I went to see him about a year ago regarding pain in my foot resulting from an injury. He had me do 2 rounds of stimulation therapy in the his office and my pain went away and so far has stayed away. I was so happy with my results that I have brought my family to see him over the past year for anything foot related. He has a gentle manner and was extremely patient with my questions. Dr. Cavaliere performed surgery in April on my left posterior tibial tendon, after a two-year-old injury eradicated the tendon. The surgery was shockingly painless and thus far, it's worked, and we're both pleased with the results. His weekly follow-up care and that of his caring, efficient and friendly staff, has been exemplary. The office is on the first floor (key for podiatry offices), and easy to get to. Being able to walk without pain for the first time in two years is priceless. I would highly recommend Dr. Cavaliere to anyone needing reliable foot/ankle care. read more

I had bunion surgeries on both feet in one year with Dr. Cavaliere. I was confident and satisfied enough to go back months later for the second one. He is very passionate and conscientious about what he does. He took the time to answer my many questions and explain the surgeries and why there was a different procedure for each. Dr Cavaliere had been treating me for the arthritis in my right big toe for several years. The therapy helped a bit but I was still favoring my right foot. This forced me to go to a chiropractor more often than usual as it would throw my body off. In March 2017 we decided to do surgery to remove the arthritis. Also had a bone spur on the top of my foot so I figured have that removed as well. 2 weeks after surgery my right toe range of motion was 100%. This to me is a miracle because prior to surgery range of motion was at 60%. Definitely would do this again if I had too as I no longer require therapy. As far as the bone spur that is a bit different I still get these "pain sensations" in my foot from time to time. Over the course of the year they have started to be longer apart so I hope by next year they are totally gone. I highly recommend Dr. Cavaliere for therapy and surgery. Absolutely wonderful doctor. Dr. Cavaliere was recommended by another outstanding doctor as someone who was an expert of experts and a truthful, direct doctor. Instead of surgery which was what I had been told by other doctors, i might need, Dr Cavaliere treated me, and so far has restored 70% of my movement. I was a first time patient. Walked in the door and the first thing the receptionist said was, "Can I have your insurance card". What happened to "hello". He didn't introduce himself. Walked in the room and asked what the problem was. Seemed annoyed answering questions. When I asked how my toes would look after permanently removing ingrown toenails he said "aesthetics don't matter". Well, they do to me. I pick Dr. Cavaliere office out of my insurance list. I have been seeing him for a month now. I did surgery with him. His office is what a doctor's office is suppose to be. In and out. My appointments are always on time. The staff is professional and so is the doctor. Dr. Cavaliere always have a lesson for me. (I tend to like that). I had paper work sent over to the office for my job and they filled it out and sent it back to me the same day. The day after my surgery, one of the staff member called to check that I was doing ok. I highly recommend Dr. Raymond Cavaliere, a top podiatrist who has been treating my feet for over 15 years. He is always professional, compassionate, honest, very skilled, trustworthy and knowledgeable about all aspects of my conditions. He has a warm and helpful staff. By operating on the left and right edges of my big toe's nail bed, he stopped a badly ingrown toenail from becoming seriously infected, two times. All my toes are fine, with Dr. Cavaliere's help, by the grace of God. He is a good listener who is also caring. When I needed cortisone shots for plantar fasciitis, I was scared, but he tried to make me as comfortable as possible. He also treated me with PT (like TENS and ultrasound), and orthotics - very effective. He treated a damaged Achilles tendon in my ankle with PT and a stabilizing boot, preventing a painful rupture. Dr. Cavaliere operated to remove a cyst from my left foot 5 years ago. I have since experienced painful swelling of that foot every morning since. He has been unable to determine why. He has repeatedly suggested utterly useless electro-stimulation therapy for which he bills my insurance over $100 per session......run or crawl if you must, as far from this guy as you can get. read more
