I Love this park. I used to come here when I was a kid. Now I bring my kids. It's always our go-to park- A real hidden gem.

Review of playground only. Went with our 19 month old on a Sunday afternoon, around 430pm. There were probably 15-20 kids and it didnt feel crowded at all. It's a great sized playground, for different ages. We were able to follow my son as he went through the play area until he used the different slides! He had a lot of fun. It's shaded, and it's next to a restroom and has a water refilling station as well! read more

This park is so fun for all ages! Tons of play options, a huge recreational field, restrooms, walking paths, provided dog poop bag stations. Two huge playgrounds that are meant for a range of ages, that are also shaded! This is a fantastic area to spend a morning/afternoon letting the whole family have some fun! read more

Rockin' Raymond Rimkus Really Rules Recreation! There's so much to see and do here! I came by while my buddy was at the DMV down the street to waste some time. I found some empty picnic tables by the side of a ditch that flows through the center of this park. The picnic tables were covered in that rubberized coating, so they're comfy and not too hot. There's grills too, if you wanna start cooking it up here! Raymond Rimkus also has sports fields where if you wanna get a touch football game or a soccer game going, they've got the goals and the equipment already set up. The rest of the park that's not sports fields is well covered with trees, and outfitted with cement paths that are good for pedestrians, bikes or trikes. The park isn't well lit, but with the Leon Valley Police lurking around here, don't worry, there's hardly any shenanigans here. The park includes restrooms that were in good order. They're over by the playground that I found full of children. This neighborhood park has more than you'd expect from a little suburb's park. It's located in the town of Leon Springs, which is known for their heavy handed police force and their ticketing motorists. So you can see how this park was funded, I suppose. read more

Lots of construction going on here so make sure to follow the detour signs. Was our first time here and we ended up having to go all the way around to get here. We parked on the other side of the playground not sure if there's close parking but due to the construction we couldn't really tell. We had to cross what looked to be a dried up water area of some sort and found a path to take to our destination. The playground itself is very colorful and a good size. The kids really enjoyed the big slides and swings. They had a roundabout (my son calls it a ferry go round) which is something I haven't seen in a long time but the kids liked it nonetheless. read more

Awesome park to go to - LOT's of shade, LOT's of open areas for football, soccer fields, volleyball, decent bathrooms, etc. Went over Easter weekend so it was crowded and parking was difficult but not too bad. Good alternative to Brackenridge Park for Easter celebrations. It is in Leon Valley though, so mind the speed limit and the parking signs - they WILL ticket you! read more

This park is close to my house and my daughter and granddaughter loves it. Keeps us going. It's clean, the people are friendly along with their children. Parks are great for the entire family, but Rimkus i Park is a park that gives you a breath of fresh air. Very impressed. read more

This park has plenty to offer the casual stroller or the serious athlete. Plenty of oak trees offer shade for Raymond Rimkus, where you can find tennis courts, soccer fields, a playground, picnic tables, soccer fields and a volleyball pit. Pretty impressive, huh? Circling all these activities are two trails, a 1/2 mile paved trail and a mile nature (aka, dirt) trail. Both trails are well marked and mostly shaded. The tennis courts and volleyball pit usually have people using them, so be willing to be patient if you would like to play. There is usually plenty of room to throw a football or kick a soccer ball around though. The playground is pretty popular too, and even has a little fence around it to prevent the kiddos from running into the road. Overall, this park is a great place to spend an afternoon, whether you are looking for a casual walk or some serious tennis practice. I tend to forget Raymond is there, considering it is kind of off the usual path for me, but it offers some great diversions for sunny day weather. read more

I really liked this park. Huge play equipment area and lots of soccer nets to practice around also a baseball field. The have an old school merry-go-round which is fantastic! However it was extremely muddy because of all the rainy mixed with deteriorating mulch. Everyone at the park seemed very friendly and there were busses from day cares coming to use it as well. I parked by the creek and had to cross there even though the water wasn't crossing the pathway it was extremely slippery crossing there, so be cautious. I wish there was parking closer to the playground equipment but that won't deter us from coming back. read more

Small but Nicely laid out park, shade trees, good walking path (not a favorite for running), lots of deer everywhere and fairly tame because people bring apples and sweet potatoes to feed them. read more

This park is nice and has a long walking trail to exercise. We came here for the kids playground located near the side of Evers st. The kids playground has a wide variety of slides,swings, a merry go round. The kids enjoyed their playtime here and therefore we'll be coming back. read more

This park is awesome! I've taken my toddler to quite a few playgrounds in San Antonio parks, but I do have to say that this one is by far his favorite. The playscape is just so much fun with a separate little toddler area and a big playscape for the bigger kids. There's a small walking trail that goes around the park, which is just big enough if you want to go for a walk or if you're teaching your child how to ride a bike. There's a soccer field, basketball courts and tennis courts. Lots of picnic tables that are shaded for when it's really hot outside. The parking is never a hassle when we come and we've come on the weekends when it is really "busy" but we never have a hard time finding a parking spot. All-in-all this is one of the best parks in San Antonio for us. The playscape is fantastic! read more

Raymond Rinkus is a well-kept park is hidden away between Bandera and Evans Road. Usually plenty of parking and there's a pool in close proximity too. I just can't remember if the pool is open to the public. During heavy rains the gutters that are between the park and the parking spaces can get easily flooded (mostly due to flash flooding) so do take care in this area when here at those times. Aside from that they have picnic tables and plenty of spaces to relax in. read more

We recently moved to the NW side of town, so I have been on a quest to take my dog to every park around the area in search of the best one. Today we made it here to Raymond Rimkus Park. So far, this is definitely one of my top parks! PROS: Lots of wide open space, yet trails are still fairly well shaded with surrounding trees. Felt very safe (a concern of mind being a female who goes to parks alone). Several nice families playing in the park, even in the middle of the day on a weekday. Lots of sports fields, a huge playground, a wildflower garden. An inner and outer walking trail with lots of trash cans and doggie bag stations. Workout areas around the trails. Very clean and lots of picnic areas. CONS: Walking the inner and outer trail combined equaled a total of 3/4 a mile, which may not be a con to some people, but I like walking at least a mile without having to walk in circles. read more

This is an older park but very well kept! The restrooms are clean, the playground equipment is seemingly upgraded. The greenery is beautiful and maintained. There is a good size path to walk or run on and the best part is that the playground is fenced in which is great if you have a toddler that is a runner like mine! read more

This review may be unfair, as my complaint is a few months old. The soccer fields are a disaster. And, can be dangerous. They are uneven, rocky and muddy for weeks after it rains. The little soccer field is especially bad. My little girl hurt her ankle as we tried to practice on it. 4" deep holes in the packed dirt. Looks like a truck drove over it several times. Some park maintenance and better planning will help. read more

Cute park with lots to do, check the rules, you can even bring some alcohol if you're so inclined to :) They do need a slight update in their exercise equipment since most of them are wooden and a little dated. There's plenty of walking trails and even a creepy one where you eventually come across the burial ground for Mr. Huebner! My Chi loves this park and all of the open space, and he especially loves going up to the children and getting petted. Rimkus is a great neighborhood park with lots to do, including a pavilion for parties, softball/baseball/soccer fields, a community garden, tennis/basketball courts, a playground just for kids, walking trails (both paved and rocky) and plenty of space for BBQ's and moon bounces. read more

This park is nice. There are many slides and areas for kids to play. The only concern i had was that the tallest slide there was extremely high in my opinion. I saw a few children under the age of two for sure and there were openings at the top where the kids could just fall down. It was at least 12 feet and for small children... that could really hurt them. So other than that its alot of fun for kids and theres plenty of areas to sit down as well. The playground sits at the far corner of the park so be prepared to walk a trail to get to it! read more

I love taking my family here. There is a nice playground and tennis courts. There is a nice nature/jogging trail.

This park is alright, I walked my dog there the other day and all of their dog watering stations were broken. The park was clean and there were plenty of people there for the playground and large fields, but I won't be returning there with my dog since the amenities for him were not working. I suggest a park like Phil Hardberger instead. read more
