Not sure where the other reviews about fair pricing and service are coming from, but I had the…read moreexact opposite experience (multiple times) here. We had previously taken my wife's car here for an inspection and felt like we were significantly overcharged, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, I will no longer be giving them any business after my experience this week. I had to have my car towed from the highway last week. They were the closest tow company and I just had it towed right to their garage, hoping that it would save me some money. Through a combination of their expensive parts distributor and the shadiness of the garage, I felt like I was being overcharged by $150-$300 (I know, big range) for a part. I called around and got pricing for that part myself and disputed the cost with the garage. They tried to pass it off on the parts distributor overcharging them, but only showed me the list price on the invoice, while intentionally hiding the net price. I spoke with the parts distributor who, while still significantly more expensive than other places, definitely did not charge them full list price. Miraculously, $150 disappeared off my bill when I spoke with the garage again and pressed further, since I knew the actual cost of the part. I ended up paying about what I "should" have (minus the still too expensive part), but if I didn't know any better I could have really been taken to the cleaners. This all felt very shady and I wouldn't feel confident recommending Dobson's to anyone.

Lo and behold, my AC decides to crap out during this hot, hot summer. A friend suggested a mom and pop shop near campus. After giving them a call, I was informed that they did not work on AC units. I then asked if there was any shop in the area they could suggest. The gentleman on the other line recommended Sharer's Automotive. I immediately gave them a call. The receptionist, Tracy, was so helpful and sweet. Thankfully, I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day (or else I would've had to drive back home to Maryland in the scorching heat!). Jared, the owner and mechanic, explained to me what was potentially happening with my car. He informed me that to know for sure whether or not there was a leak, he would need to place a special dye in the system. Jared flushed out the AC system and added refrigerant. I then scheduled a follow-up. I went back yesterday to have my AC checked. Jared found some minor leaks and gave me a pair of neon yellow glasses to see for myself (which was pretty cool, I might add!). Oftentimes, mechanics may push for unnecessary repairs and upsells. However, I am pleased to tell you that this was not the case at Sharer's Automotive. Jared was very honest, and the prices were fair. I'm delighted to have found this garage!

DO NOT GO HERE. The mechanics themselves just want to do their jobs, but the manager dude (I guess…read morehis name is Josh?) is shady asf and talks down to women. Nick had previously resealed the transmission pan on my Subaru (it was leaking before when I had tried to seal it myself with an anaerobic sealant). So he fixed it, but it started leaking again. It's a known flawed design from Subaru (the pan doesn't use a gasket but just mates metal to metal) and so it's a common issue with subarus. Anyway, Josh tried to gaslight me and tell me that the leak was actually coming from the output shaft seal because "the wind was pushing the oil leak down and making it look like the pan was leaking." In reality, he just didn't want to redo the repair because it would cost him time x money on his own dime + expensive CVT fluid. He thought he could just gaslight me about what was happening as a solo female and I'd just pay up. Well, I didn't take his bs bait. This is exactly why I started doing my own repairs on my car because you can't trust these dudes. At the very least, Josh could've tried to work with me instead of starting an argument, like say "I can see why you'd think that and we can repair xyz at discounted rate and if the transmission pan is still leaking then we'll replace that on the house." You're not very good with zero customer service skills.

Done business with this company. I feel as tho if your a women. The company thinks you know nothing…read moreabout vehicles. But I'm not a fool when it comes to mechanic of a vehicle. Telling someone that to do a job takes 16 hours is outrageous. If you are rebuilding a engine or transmission yes it maybe 10 to 12 hours. But to exchange a part out and put the replacement in i don't think so. So I ask a few friends whom have service garages in 5 different states. They all Laugh. Your system you use to calculate jobs has Errors or maybe it's the mechanic error inputting or maybe your trying to ripe customers off into spending $$$$. I can say that your team distinctly told lies cause people heard the information wrote it down and a few days later there was a different price and when confronted your team said they never said that at least a few times. Your business may do business with the state and county vehicle and they pay to service them because they don't have their own garages like in other States. But maybe they should do inquires. I'll have to ask the state garages to see. But as far as vehicle repairs I'm going to say Stop Telling Customer Wrong Information or write down what your Telling Customers.
