Any competent mechanic knows the battery must be disconnected before working around the shifter and airbags. He failed to do that. As a result of his negligence, both side airbags deployed and both seat belts were damaged. One of the airbags slammed into my back and caused a serious injury. I had to go to the emergency room, which cost me a lot of money and pain. Instead of taking responsibility, he completely lost it and kept saying it wasn't his fault. He then had the nerve to say he could install new airbags and seat belts, but I had to buy the parts and pay him labor -- after HE caused the damage. He kept bragging about having "30 years of experience" and being a "trainer," which is honestly laughable given what happened. At first, he agreed to cover the costs. Then he started stalling for over a month, telling me "tomorrow" every single day. At one point, he claimed a family member had died -- and I later saw in his reviews that he told another customer the exact same story. Eventually, he avoided me completely because he didn't want to touch the car again, likely afraid he'd damage it further. He sent one of his workers instead, who couldn't fix anything. I ended up hiring an attorney and taking legal action. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. Completely irresponsible, dishonest, and dangerous. Avoid at all costs.

Chris at SoCal Auto inspected my vehicle, tested my brake fluid and inspected my coolant fluid and found that they were close to brand new and didn't need changing. Instead of trying to sell me unnecessary work, he was upfront, honest, and saved me a whole band in minutes. I brought my car into this shop when my transmission failed on me. Bringing it in, the main…read moremechanic Moe, charged me 3,100 for what he said was a new transmission. I found it very odd as soon as the transmission he installed was a TH 350 which is much smaller than what my Buick Riviera (1967) requires. He failed to communicate with me the entire process and the estimated 2 weeks it was supposed to take for labor became 3. Furthermore, he attempted to claim other issues in my car attempting to claim my brakes were non functional which was completely false. After the 3 week mark I came to look at my car myself and upon arriving I found that my cars body was completely damaged. This included scrap marks on the passenger panel and collision damage to the front. I inspected his work on my transmission and not only was he not finished but he had completely botched the job as there were mismatched and misplaced bolts, leaks literally everywhere and on an attempt to drive the car to test it myself the transmission completely blew. This does not include damage I later found to other parts of my car such as the drive shaft, hanger barring, and drivers side rear control arm. I found all of this and brought it another shop, to which they estimated my total damages to the drive train at 6,000 (not including body work). And the other shop also reviewed my car and insured me these damages were mechanically made and very likely by Moe who I had just retrieved my vehicle from. I went in for a transmission job paying 3,100 and left with 6,000+ in damages created by them When I demanded a refund they only gave me back 1,100 of the 3,100 I had paid and refused to give out any insurance information to cover my costs. Furthermore, they claimed they had video surveillance of a car that hit and ran my vehicle while they had it parked outside their shop but refused to give up any information or the video itself. They are also refusing to cover any of the costs to the damages the caused on my car and as mentioned any information to the supposed other parties involved. Do not go to this shop they will scam you, botch your car, and all around attempt to thieve you. I'm currently looking to pursue legal actions, if anyone has a case or information they'd like to add on this dude I'd greatly appreciate it.
