I had a minor taillight issue on a vintage car i just restored and thought I would take it to Keith and re engage with his business. Turns out this was a terrible decision. Both he as well as the other individual (his Son?) were rude and disrespectful. I ended up paying $250 for his "diagnostic" to find they just did not appear willing to work with me on a solution that made economic sense. Keith's came well recommended and gave them a try. I got a call for Keith that my truck needed a repair worth $908. The part itself was quoted at $600+ plus labor. I asked if there were options..."Napa sells it for $900" (Later on, I checked and they sell it for $360.) I said OK fix it because it wasn't running, my super busy schedule and needed it fixed ASAP. My gut feeling said to look into it. Found the part for $287 and called my usual mechanic. He found the problem was a fuze just a FUZE. Less than $10. Quoted for $908. Keith is a bit of a short temper kind of guy. Maybe he was having a bad day when he got all mad over the phone when I decided to do a repair myself after hearing cost. He just needs to retire or hire a nice front person. I have no complaints about simple work he has done on my vehicle. I also had an experience where a friend - who always took his fancy car to the dealer - had a stubborn electrical issue. He insisted "only the dealer could fix it" - well they couldn't - so they sent him to an "expert" and sure enough, it was Keith. read more

I took my Pathfinder to Keith to fix an electrical issue. Keith rewired the charging system but did not check the battery. After two additional trips to Keith's the vehicle was confirmed to be repaired by Keith, but my battery still wouldn't hold a charge. Keith did not even suggest checking the battery. I took it upon myself to replace the battery and since then have had no issue with the electrical system. While the vehicle was initially at Keith's he suggested front and rear brakes needed to be replaced. I had not experienced any issues at this point but followed his recommendation. After the brakes were repaired by replacing the brake pads and brake fluid, the brakes failed to stop us and we nearly hit a car. The vehicle was taken back to Keith's and he suggested replacing the master cylinder for $432. So we did that. We got it back and on the next trip, the brakes failed again. We took the vehicle back to Keith and he demanded we pay $135 to diagnose the problem. I specifically asked him what he was going to diagnose for $135. At this point, he suggested we find another shop. I asked him to replace the front brake pads which he had originally replaced and he refused. I took the vehicle to a second shop, and they replaced the front brake pads noting that the pads that Keith used were cheap and pitted. They also noted that the brake fluid was dirty after Keith replaced the fluid on the original brake job and the master cylinder (approximately less than 300 miles ago). Keith refused to reimburse me for any portion of the brake repair and contested my complaint with the credit card company. He is extremely unprofessional and I would never recommend this shop to anyone because he is an unprofessional mechanic and businessman. read more

Long Story Short after paying near 10,000 to Keith i had to tow my Bronco to another mechanic spend another $9000 to do exactly what he was hiered to do. Watch out he is a lyer and doesnt know what he is doing. Oh ya and he had my vehicle over 6 months.. He did howerever make my vehicle more dangerous by installing a clip on my excelerator to keep the RPMs higher so the vehicle wouldnt die. "Um, well, they can give your 'mobile a tune-up, find you a new engine, repair tires and carborators and they have oil on their fingers." Pretty standard auto shop stuff, right? What's not standard is that you get the feeling that you can actually trust Keith and his colleague (Eric?), and from experience I know that you can. Long story short, every time they have one of our cars or trucks they managed to mess something else up. Installing an electric window motor- scratched up the tint. Change the oil- broke the halo light ballast "why the f?$@ is that there anyway?" Well Keith it's aftermarket. It cost me a lot of money and I liked the look.... "It's $#!T, illegal and you wasted your money!" Ummmmmm so you're not going to fix it? Exhaust header leak- 4 attempts at repair before just giving up and cursing me for buying an old "P.O.S." (RPM in oceanside, $25 first try) Here's a test, go look at the cars around the shop, impressive yes. Now go back a week later..... A month later..... Every six months...... Oh, same cars? I took my sick 1971 Ford F100 in for some electrical work. Keith is a very laid-back and extremely knowledgeable. He's definitely a hot-rod enthusiast (if you stop by, check out some of the cool vehicles he's working on). Anyways, I felt like I could trust him from the start, and he actually did steer me away from having some work done that would've cost me a whole lot more than was necessary. He did a good job on my truck, fixed the charging system, brake lights, and adjusted the steering - had it out in less than a day too! Price was reasonable, not a bargain - but fair. I was a week away from expired tags that required a smog test. I have a Dodge pickup with a Cummings diesel. About 6 weeks ago I took it to someone that specializes in this truck and it came back running better than ever but the check engine light was on which is an automatic failure for smog. I took it back and after replacing some sensors in the transmission it ran better but that light was still shining. He determined that I needed a new PCM which is about $300.00 and he would install it in a week. Ok I still have a week but he forgot to order the PCM so now time was running out. I researched my truck online and found that the PCM seldom fails. So after researching mechanics with a strong electrical back ground I came up with Keith's. I had used him 4 or 5 years ago for an electrical issue on an old VW. I called him on Monday he was able to take the truck the following day. By the end of the day he had the problem isolated and it didn't need a PCM. There was one issue remaining and that was the slight problem of being able to start the truck in gear. The following morning Keith found the culprit. Previous mechanics had patched into the wrong circuits and was playing havoc with the computer. The truck is running even better and I got it passed smog and I went to AAA and got my renewed registration. I'm not sure why Keith's Automotive Electric has three pages of filtered reviews but they are mostly 5 stars and I am completely satisfied and feeling pretty smart with myself for bailing on my mechanic and taking the truck to Keith's. read more

I would rate it lower if I could!!!! I took my Ford Expedition in because my turning signals were not working. I left my car there so they could try to find the problem. They called my back right away and told me I needed a entire new electric panel and it was $645.00 to fix. I thought it was rather strange that they diagnosed it so quickly because the last time I had an electrical problem the company kept my car for a few days and ran several tests to pin point the problem. I paid them to replace the panel and my signals stopped working two weeks later!!!! I just paid $645 and they diagnosed it wrong. To make matters worst when I came back to tell them my signals weren't working again the guy at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional and didn't make any effort to fix the problem. I was so upset after talking to him I went someplace else to fix my car. The other company kept my car for 4 days and fixed the problem for less than $300. I later emailed Keith's Automotive explaining the situation - giving them a change to fix their error and they never responded. This is the worst customer service I have ever receiver on any auto. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEPLACE THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! read more
