Well you don't ever hope to need a service like auto body. It's never fun to repair a vehicle. Luckily my incident didn't involve bodily harm to anyone. Ray's is very professional. My car had to be towed in for the estimate. This was arranged quickly even though my insurance informed me there were delays with auto body work. Everyone from the phone calls to the reception area were extremely friendly. The tow driver gave me updates so that I didn't have to stay home for most of the day awaiting his arrival. They answered my questions without showing annoyance. Let me tell you, I can speak a bit too much at times so that's not an easy fete. I went to Rays after our daughter was hit from behind early fall. I was given insurance company run around and the location they asked me to use for repairs was 45-60 days booked. I called Rays, I was asked for basic information, copy of quote, basic name & number and was given a drop off date for a few days later. The Tech Mike, after reviewing the estimate and damage submitted a more detailed list of repairs and to my surprise got a quick email from the insurance of supplemental items and costs to make the repair complete. The parts were promptly ordered, painted, assembled and in a short time I had a text stating our car will be ready. The day it was complete I received a polite call advising me it was ready for pick-up. From aggravation in the beginning, to great workmanship and service. I brought my car to Ray's Carstar. They took a month to fix it. They would say it would be ready on a certain day then they would postpone it. I wanted them to only fix specific things, even though there were more repairs to be done. Megan Fields, the person answering the phone, told me on the phone that they were going to charge for the repairs they did not do. Also, she told us it would be $3100. I had to pay or I couldn't take the car. When we arrived, she charged $3800. I don't know what legal action I can take. read more

Recently had my car repaired here because my insurance company works with and recommended them. My car had fairly heavy damage and cosmetically, I thought the repairs looked pretty good so I was initially happy. Took it for a test drive and everything seemed great. I was initially very happy. However, after putting a few miles on my car after getting it back, I was making a 45 minute drive to visit some family and had my 7 month old in the car with me. About 15 mins into my drive I noticed a weird sound and rumbling feeling coming from the front driver's side, which is where the damage had been repaired. Obviously this made me nervous so I pulled over to check things out. I'm not a mechanic by any means, so I checked the 1 or 2 things I could. Turns out, these idiots never tightened the lug nuts on my front driver's side wheel, which had been replaced with the repairs. I was able to finger loosen each and every lug on that tire right there on the side of the road. Obviously, the shop never bothered to actually tighten the nuts before returning it to me. I was, needless to say, furious. I called the shop to let them know this. The girl who answered was very nice, but she said she was going to let the owner know and that he would call me right back as soon as he got the message. That was about 24 hours ago as of the writing of this review, with still no return phone call. I'm not even looking for anything from the shop - the repairs are done, there's really nothing i can do or that I can gain from them- but you would think the owner would make it a priority to return that call and that this is something he would take very seriously. My wheel could have fallen off while driving with my 7 month old, and that would have been their fault for not bothering to check their work. You'd think he'd want to address this, and would then address this with all his employees to make it a priority moving forward. I can only assume since they have not even called me back that the owner doesn't give a shit and did not even mention this with his employees. Caution to anybody considering this shop. If you do use them for repairs, you better double check the work yourselves, because Carstar Ray's sure as shit ain't checking their own work. Fuck this shop. read more
