Was then told I needed some other work done which was new gaskets, plugs, wires and a control arm for my front right wheel. I asked if it was OK to drive in which stated it should be fine in the mean time until I get some extra cash. Stalled on the highway the next day. Took it back, They wanted $500 for a new distributor put in. I wanted to pick up my car have it towed to my house and replace the distributor myself. Called on a Friday was told my car was in pieces and agreed to wait an extra day to come pick up. Come Saturday they are closed. Called back Monday and my car is still in pieces. He then explained it would be around 45 min to get back together. Took it home, Installed new distributor and still no start. Spent days trying to figure out what it could be. Finally broke down and bought a new car. Sold my old car for scrap to a person who then tells me it was not starting because there was missing spark plug and runs fine now. Why was my car missing a spark plug when I got it back? I have no words for the level of frustration this business has provided for me.

They arrived and immediately got to work. Put an inter tube in the tire and had the job done in less then an hour. Cleaned up the tire and the area. Checked air in other tires. Mentioned the front tires would need swapped out soon, asked if I wanted a quote and I said sure. Guy called the next day. Overall the guys were professional, friendly and very courteous. He and his other mechanics each have a story of their own, about being in dire need of mechanical repair...outside of the banker's hours that most auto shops keep. Because I was stranded about 4 hours' drive from home, my Avalanche got first priority on the lift, and Andrew and Pat started calling around for the parts that I was going to need. In my case, the ring and pinion in the rear differential had essentially grenaded, blowing a hole through the rear diff cover, and filling the interior of the differential with large steel fragments from the broken ring and pinion. If you get a chance, watch the video, from when Andrew first opened it. These days, repair kits, rebuild kits, and even whole axle assemblies are more expensive than they ever have been, availability is poor, and lead times to get any of them have grown from a couple of days to five to fifteen (!) business days. I was able to locate a replacement used axle some distance away, and Auto ER wasted no time doing a thorough and professional axle swap. Andrew and his men were on deck at 0600 in the morning, to start the swap. The shop there ordinarily opens at 0800. What I am saying is that Auto ER, Andrew, and Pat went well above and beyond, delivering next-level service to this stranded motorist, and I appreciate it greatly. A "business as usual" shop could easily have kept me stuck in Mason City for seven to ten days. Auto ER made sure that I was able to get back on the road relatively quickly, so that I could return home. Thank you, Auto ER! You guys are outstanding!
