Went in late for the first time ever being here and it's calm and decently big and it's kinda like a Safeway has probably 99% of food items youd want typically. I don't think Theres any self checkout which is fine. I enjoyed the calmness. read more

Except for the incredible deli staff this store is an utter disappointment. It's overpriced and its cashiers act like those that aren't regulars are beneath them. I was disgusted how I was treated after shopping there and paying $2.50 dollars more for a creamer than I would have paid in Redmond. I would have happily paid for all the ridiculous amounts of overpriced items I bought if when I checked out and said thank you to the cashier there had been any acknowledgment. Next time I will make the drive to Redmond where Safeway or Walmart will give me FAIR prices and treat their customers like they actually want them to shop there. read more

Low rating due to zero standard for customer service in this store. I usually do not come here and now I certainly will not unless someone does something about the continuous lack of customer service found at the Cashier. Just a short while ago I returned from the store and shared with my family the way in which I was treated. Cashier Heather did not smile, did not utter a greeting of any sort, did not address me in any way and simply handed me my change and receipt. She said not one word the entire time. Who does this? If you hate your job so much, quit. Otherwise you will continue to drive business away from the store. Isn't this common sense, if nothing else? If your store doesn't do good business, you may not have a job to go to, where you get to be rude to people. Get it together, Ray's. You're better than this. read more

I live in Powell Butte and usually hit the Redmond stores. However, I had to go into Prineville to access some services that are only in Prineville. I stopped twice into Ray's. Both time the experience was not good as far as customer service goes. The store and selections available are fine. However, the employees are another story.. Especially in the Deli. I stood there for several moments both times I approached the counter. There were several people there who when they noticed me just went back to doing what they were doing. They then looked at each other with a visual "Rock-Paper-Scissors" to see who would come over to me. When they did there was no greeting, just a look like I was terribly inconveniencing them. Was not just me, I noted there same attitude towards others after I stepped away. The clerks and the general floor staff looked very unhappy. Not return of smiles or greetings. While they're fairly good for a small town grocer, the blatant discrimination from a certain cashier toward service animals was ridiculous. She SCREAMED when she saw my service animal (who was sitting quietly). If you can't handle servicing people with disabilities and/or very well-behaved service animals, don't be a cashier. read more

Probably the more 'upscale' grocery store in town. Prices tend to be a little higher than the others, but the store is also the cleanest, and they have good deli, bakery and floral sections. Well laid out. Also, their clearance section features truly discounted items (unlike the other stores) and I have found some amazing deals there. read more

I was on phone today 11/2 and was asking price of land of lakes butter, then she said yes they carry, but she forgot to look at the price. Since i have to walk i wanted to know the price. Tuesday of this week we were visiting our son and family in Prineville. We stopped at Rays to pick up a few specific things when we had the opportunity to meet this nice helpful young man named " Chance". Chance helped us find several things and even recruited someone else to help us find Lima beans in the can to which she couldn't find. Then settling for frozen lima's, here comes Chance running down the isle with a can of Green Lima's for me! Perfect! What a nice young man who totally knows his store well and really should be promoted. With his knowledge he could run this store well! (I was in grocery for 15 years and I would have promoted him in a minute). read more

This Place is horrible costs way to damn much to be treated so badly. Went in to buy deli meat for lunches for my kids and I but there was 2 flys buzzing around inside the enclosed area where the meat is. I told the man that I had seen 2 flys and they landed on actual food I was going to buy. The man snarled at me and told me no there isn't and clearly two other people seen it I said ok well I dont want the deli meat then. The guy says well if you dont want the meat then get out of the store now. This isn't the first time they have been so disrespectful. The manager does nothing to fix any issues. This was a great find in Prineville! Their selection was surprising for a small local store, and they carry many of the brands I would expect to have to go to Redmond or Bend to find. I visit Prineville regularly and this is the only store I shop at in Prineville because they have everything I am looking for, including local fresh foods. If you're looking for Oregon wines, they have that as well as a variety of wines, beer, ales and porter. Also, they take everyone's health seriously and enforce mask mandates, so it's a safe place to shop. I don't know why people say the service is poor. I have been here many times on multiple trips and everyone was always helpful and friendly. So glad I found this gem! read more

The parking lot this icy November day is a sheet of ice. With the older clientelle they cater to, you would think they would have it plowed or salted. Generally, you wait in line here and pay higher prices. It is a nice store inside. read more

Usually I like to start any feedback with something positive. It is hard to find such a thing in my many experiences at my local Ray's Food Place. I guess I could say that it was meant to be a beautiful store and there is a bit more for an "uppity taste bud" to pick from. The employees are the most uninterested staff you can imagine. At least 4 out of 10 times I come into the store, I can expect to have the cashier not utter a syllable to me - not even to speak my total. Ordering from the deli is torture. The employees make sure you feel that you totally inconvenienced them and stopped them from doing another task which was monumentally more important than you and your money. If you are a responsible, earth conscious adult and take your cans and bottles to recycling, be prepared to be given dirty looks and hear underhanded remarks from the employees in the back of the store. Finally, the prices. They are atrocious. The sales are a joke. It is unfortunate because great customer service would probably get me to pay those crazy prices. read more
