Driving back to Texas from Alabama, out car started making a high pitched screeching sound, late afternoon on a Friday. We got lucky and pulled into a Wal-Mart, but they don't do repair work. An employee however said he knew someone close by who owns a shop, and he called him. Within MINUTES, the owner showed up and took a look. Honestly, we have had bad luck with mechanics, doing bad work and charging exhorbitante fees, we were prepared for the worst, the engine sounded terrible and we were in small town MS, we figured an overnight stay and pricey repair bill. We got the car to their shop, granted, not impressive in appearance, but they had a group of guys, late in the day on Friday, when they were preparing to go home for the night. The owner identified a badly shredded serpentine belt as the issue. They obtained a replacement then noticed the pulleys were very bad, again, we were fully prepared for the full "gotcha" repair price. The got replacement pulleys, did the full repair. I had googled estimates for similar repairs and I was prepared for a 2x- 3x the average repair for the bill. Not only was it not, it was on the lower end of the expected repair range and they did it in an incredible time frame for a family of 4 that really needed to get back on the road. I don't give many 5 stars, but this place easily earned it, and a few more stars if I could, very highly recommended, unfortunately they are not local to me, otherwise they would be my repair/maintenance shop of choice going forward.

I have never had better service. very respectful, helpful, genuinely kind and understanding people. My daughter and I were stuck on the side of the highway for 14hrs as our insurance tried to find a wrecker service for my jeep and my travel trailer after my jeep became disabled. After several wrecker services cancelled my insurance called me with a company that was able to handle both vehicles and even offered to store the trailer at their yard while the jeep was dropped off at a shop. Because of my frustrating night I asked if they could be sure they could handle both and that's when the insurance called them and added them to the call. From that very first phone interaction it was an amazing experience and I'm sure it took some patience dealing with me in the morning. They quickly got my jeep loaded up and hooked up my trailer. With the trailer dropped at the yard and jeep dropped at the shop and a good coffee shop recommendation their service was complete and it was a relief that it all went so smooth. I ended up choosing a different shop after some calls and made a quick call to see about towing the jeep to another shop and they were extremely fast, safe and helpful. It was an eventful day made easier to cope with thanks to Hegwood's towing great people and service. I hope I don't have to call y'all again but if the need arises when in the area I definitely will. But upon getting the truck it did not even sound right. Had cracked valves and they never even checked. The truck leaked oil. And upon multiple calls they always had a mechanic down. Took three months to get truck back when had money in first week of truck arriving. No I have to put a new motor on the truck and upon investigation they did not put all the bolts in bell housing. Wrong bolts in motor mounts. A total of 26 bolts were missing. The front cover on the vacuum pump is missing. And oil was bad and had a very bad smell. So if you want horrible service and missing bolts and missing parts take your vehicle here.
