There was a line of people entering when I took this photo as well

I had the privilege of taking my 8 year old son here for a birthday party as my wife was busy. The first thing is that parking is a nightmare - I used to live at 5th and Poplar, so I know street parking - but there really isn't a convenient location to park and carry presents, a bag, and towels. The place is so over crowded, the place is open to the public and there are multiple parties going on - so figuring out where to go is a little confusing with so many people crowding the area. The staff were friendly and helped get us to where we needed to be. Someone else mentioned it - the indoor park concept is awesome, but a capacity and time limit need to be set - like you can come for 2-hours starting at every hour till full. The locker area is small and felt dirty - I didn't bother trying to shower my kid there and just took him home to hose off. Once getting out to the pool area - the smell will definitely hit you. It's not Chlorine as most people think, but Chloramine - and it burns your eyes. If you don't know what Chloramine is, let me ruin your day and save you a google search: "Chlorine is used at aquatic venues to kill germs, but when it binds to the body waste swimmers bring into pools, it can form chemicals called chloramines." This is nothing against the facility - it means they are treating the water correctly - it's just over crowded and a lot of people are dirty. For example - you aren't supposed to have food/snacks in the pool area - but I watched 4 families pull out a small cooler and eat an amazing variety of brats, chili dogs, chicken, and sandwiches. Flip flops littered the floor randomly, and the air flow is fairly low despite giant fans making a lot of noise. On the away in I planned to go in with my kid, but after the smell and the number of people making it so crowded, I just worried about my kids safety. They have lifeguards - very hardworking ones who were busy the entire time trying to control everything. With the number of people it's easy for them to be busying trying to control a bunch of kids whose parents are not helping enforce instructions/warnings that they don't notice a small kid in an overcrowded area, or a bunch of teenagers throwing a football that kept hitting kids in the back of their heads. The 4-10 year old kids who can't swim well or stand would look scared at times. So I sat and kept a watch on my kid and helped pulled him out once till it was time to go-to a party room upstairs for pizza and cupcakes. He said he had fun, and the park is pretty cool, but I'm guessing that wouldn't have been the case if he wasn't there with 20 other kids he knew. To no surprise, my kid and I were both had COVID a few days later - but that could have happened visiting Lowe's as well. I guess if you get there when it opens and leave before it gets over crowded it would be awesome - but it's not something I find I need to go do again.

I do not think this place is as bad as some of the reviews suggest . Yes, the chlorine is really strong. Burning your eyes strong however I highly doubt that folks that work day to day have any control or say in that (it's a county building so that's that). & honestly the chemicals are probably needed when dealing with a bunch of kids who probably pee in the water lol . The two women who checked us in were kind and friendly . There was a slight delay to open due to some bad weather . About 30 mins passed and we were let in. It seems like they employ lots of young kids . That's nice to see young people doing something productive. They do yell and blow their whistles at the kids but I mean that is their job for everybody's safety . Overall I enjoyed myself and I would bring my son back .

Hard working life guards. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Playground is for 48" and shorter. Great we can use our aquatic pass on this place even if we are from Huntersville.

Main lobby area when you walk in.

We visited on a Monday morning, right at opening, and had the facility basically to ourselves! My children (7, 5, and 2) had a blast! Things that stood out: - The facility was very clean and well cared for. The chlorine was not overpowering to me as other people noted. - The staff was friendly and helpful. The life guards were very attentive to their jobs, and occasionally blew their whistle to correct people, but always respectfully. One life guard even let our son borrow some goggles, which was nice! - Family restrooms were helpful since I have a son and daughters. - Swim diapers were available for $2, if you forgot one, like I did. Whoops! - There were complimentary Life vests ranging from infant life vests to large child size. Cons: - couldn't have snacks for kids (but they did say water bottles were okay) - no water fountains that we could see Overall, this place was a steal! $60 for a family of 5 to play for 5 hours. A real gem to this community!

This was the birthday ever. As a parent, they made my kids birthday so special and I didn't haven't to do much. The deluxe package included everything pizza, juice, cake, and they set up and clean up the party room. They got to swim. Thank you to Richard and Tina so professional and got things done.

Is there a regular pool for adults to the swim in?

There isn't much to do for adults, the large pool is only 4ft deep on one side. Both ends have basketball hoops and I'm the middle is a volleyball net. Still could be fun, but overall not really for adults.

From signup through cancellation, the experience was consistently poor. The signup process was unnecessarily difficult. You cannot sign up online or over the phone and must come in person. I arrived during hours I was told a manager would be present, only to find they had left early, requiring an additional visit to complete enrollment. The gym charges $150 per month per person, with additional costs for lockers, an extra month (extra $150) due on signup, and a facility improvement fee every six months. Despite the price, there is no coat rack or place to store even a jacket. Communication is "you must pay an extra amount for lockers each month" even though lockers are framed as an optional amenity. Charging for lockers in the first place is grubby. Every gym I've attended in the past includes them for free. Pool access is advertised. The pool is actually pool access passes included in membership to the Omni Hotel pool, we were told it was to be opened fall 2025, it has remained closed. This was communicated after signup. The equipment itself is fine, but there is no water bottle refill station, and the water available specifically says "don't fill your water bottle up". It's a gym. Who wants to use a small paper open top cup when working out. Bathrooms are often not clean. If you're coming in in the afternoon for workouts, the gym maintenance and cleaning happens then, so expect some vacuuming and hammering happening most days. But my primary issue is the staff experience relative to the price point. Front desk staff are often disengaged. A trainer instructed us to re rack weights that we didn't use. When we told him they were there before we used the machine he communicated "clean them up anyways". I rack weights when done using them. For $150 a month, if another gym member leaves weights behind, and this is noticed by the staff, I'd expect gym staff to care for the cleanup of other members weights left behind. And especially the first time, just unnecessarily hostile and unfriendly. There are many more similar interactions like this with staff. After I canceled my membership and requested my wife's remain active, a manager approached her requesting credit card information, the implication being "don't forget to pay" in a way that felt inappropriate. This is acceptable at a lower priced gym. Again, it's not what I expect at this price point. This is a premium priced gym with a good location and adequate equipment, but the service level does not match. I'm switching to another gym in the area.

I was clear that I didn't want to be locked into a contract, so they suggested a month-to-month option, but it ended up costing over $200 a month. They were also constantly trying to upsell me on add-ons like red light therapy, pushing yet another membership even after I had already signed up. It felt excessive and uncomfortable. When I later decided to cancel, I was told I needed to give a 30-day notice, which was never mentioned when I signed up. The way it was communicated felt dismissive, basically telling me I would definitely be charged for another month. It feels like they treat your card like it's theirs to charge whenever they want. The atmosphere also changed completely after I became a member. Before joining, they were attentive and friendly, but that disappeared once I signed up. It's easy to get in, but a nightmare to get out. The classes were unreliable as well. The instructor I signed up for missed a lot of sessions, sometimes resulting in weeks without classes. I was promised discounts for those missed sessions, but they never followed through. At one point, I went almost an entire month without the class because the trainer quit, yet I was still charged the full amount. On top of that, I was offered a $50 discount that never showed up. Instead, I was actually charged even more. When I asked about it, they said it was a billing mistake, but that doesn't change the fact that I was overcharged without my consent. The only good class was the heat/and tone and the trainer left. And you have to book a class to go and guess what if you can't go they charge you 20 dollars! EDIT: She will say she gave me a discount, after a month with no classes I never got it! Why do you think I'm upset? She also says there was not any classes only for thanksgiving? Ha what a joke, the trainer was gone for weeks after and there was not a sub once. AND this whole month, I have not been able book a class, because there are NONE. I promise this review is not sponsored in any way, I just have a full heart of gratitude for how amazing it has been to be free and have fun with movement again I moved to Charlotte during Covid and it was hard to make friends. Even without that, it just seems like it's a little hard to find your people coming to such a big city. I didn't want my only community surrounded around my work and I'm not really huge on bars, etc. I really loved dance as a kid and got away from it for various reasons: feeling out of place physically, time, money, not wanting to commit to learning technique all the time and just life in general. One of my friends introduced me to Divadance and I could tell after her first class how empowered she felt. My first class was awesome - I went to the Fort Mill location and Julia S was the instructor that day. (SO encouraging and fun). I am naturally an introvert but the community time where we chat for a minute has become one of my favorite things. I love that we're all different sizes, cultures, ages - it's really such a beautiful thing to be a part of! For my fellow introverts or future friends that like to google street view the parking situation (IYKYK) - here are more details... You arrive to the location and you're greeted in, class begins with community time where we have an icebreaker to chat for a minute about. It's super casual! Then there's a warmup and we start to learn the moves together. Everyone there is learning the moves along with you at the same time and having fun. We laugh a lot. Come as you are! Come comfy in workout clothes or come as dressed up as you want! Each location is truly a judgement free environment and I've never felt more comfortable or supported around so many women. It's really a special place to be. There is a part at the end that is completely optional to record the choreography and I SO recommend doing this, even if you just keep it to yourself! I'm learning a lot about my body language, mobility and confidence through those. It's a great, fun workout too. This year I've lost over 20 lbs and I am definitely giving credit to the addition of Divadance in my life to this! It's a great sweat, but I'm finding more confidence through each class and I'm showing up different in other areas of my life. A real game changer for mental health and I think it's great for my mind to try and learn something new even if the moves aren't perfect! It's truly been a blessing to join this community. Kari is absolutely amazing - All of the instructors are fabulous and each location has something special and different to it. I joined as a member and love trying different locations based on my schedule but you can get passes or drop in. If any of this resonated with you - take it as your sign to come try a class! Check social media for the class schedule and locations (also an app!). See you soon, friend!

If you haven't been to this studio then you are definitely missing out!!
