I do not think this place is as bad as some of the reviews suggest . Yes, the chlorine is really strong. Burning your eyes strong however I highly doubt that folks that work day to day have any control or say in that (it's a county building so that's that). & honestly the chemicals are probably needed when dealing with a bunch of kids who probably pee in the water lol . The two women who checked us in were kind and friendly . There was a slight delay to open due to some bad weather . About 30 mins passed and we were let in. It seems like they employ lots of young kids . That's nice to see young people doing something productive. They do yell and blow their whistles at the kids but I mean that is their job for everybody's safety . Overall I enjoyed myself and I would bring my son back .

There was a line of people entering when I took this photo as well

I had the privilege of taking my 8 year old son here for a birthday party as my wife was busy. The first thing is that parking is a nightmare - I used to live at 5th and Poplar, so I know street parking - but there really isn't a convenient location to park and carry presents, a bag, and towels. The place is so over crowded, the place is open to the public and there are multiple parties going on - so figuring out where to go is a little confusing with so many people crowding the area. The staff were friendly and helped get us to where we needed to be. Someone else mentioned it - the indoor park concept is awesome, but a capacity and time limit need to be set - like you can come for 2-hours starting at every hour till full. The locker area is small and felt dirty - I didn't bother trying to shower my kid there and just took him home to hose off. Once getting out to the pool area - the smell will definitely hit you. It's not Chlorine as most people think, but Chloramine - and it burns your eyes. If you don't know what Chloramine is, let me ruin your day and save you a google search: "Chlorine is used at aquatic venues to kill germs, but when it binds to the body waste swimmers bring into pools, it can form chemicals called chloramines." This is nothing against the facility - it means they are treating the water correctly - it's just over crowded and a lot of people are dirty. For example - you aren't supposed to have food/snacks in the pool area - but I watched 4 families pull out a small cooler and eat an amazing variety of brats, chili dogs, chicken, and sandwiches. Flip flops littered the floor randomly, and the air flow is fairly low despite giant fans making a lot of noise. On the away in I planned to go in with my kid, but after the smell and the number of people making it so crowded, I just worried about my kids safety. They have lifeguards - very hardworking ones who were busy the entire time trying to control everything. With the number of people it's easy for them to be busying trying to control a bunch of kids whose parents are not helping enforce instructions/warnings that they don't notice a small kid in an overcrowded area, or a bunch of teenagers throwing a football that kept hitting kids in the back of their heads. The 4-10 year old kids who can't swim well or stand would look scared at times. So I sat and kept a watch on my kid and helped pulled him out once till it was time to go-to a party room upstairs for pizza and cupcakes. He said he had fun, and the park is pretty cool, but I'm guessing that wouldn't have been the case if he wasn't there with 20 other kids he knew. To no surprise, my kid and I were both had COVID a few days later - but that could have happened visiting Lowe's as well. I guess if you get there when it opens and leave before it gets over crowded it would be awesome - but it's not something I find I need to go do again.

Main lobby area when you walk in.

We visited on a Monday morning, right at opening, and had the facility basically to ourselves! My children (7, 5, and 2) had a blast! Things that stood out: - The facility was very clean and well cared for. The chlorine was not overpowering to me as other people noted. - The staff was friendly and helpful. The life guards were very attentive to their jobs, and occasionally blew their whistle to correct people, but always respectfully. One life guard even let our son borrow some goggles, which was nice! - Family restrooms were helpful since I have a son and daughters. - Swim diapers were available for $2, if you forgot one, like I did. Whoops! - There were complimentary Life vests ranging from infant life vests to large child size. Cons: - couldn't have snacks for kids (but they did say water bottles were okay) - no water fountains that we could see Overall, this place was a steal! $60 for a family of 5 to play for 5 hours. A real gem to this community!

Hard working life guards. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Playground is for 48" and shorter. Great we can use our aquatic pass on this place even if we are from Huntersville.

This was the birthday ever. As a parent, they made my kids birthday so special and I didn't haven't to do much. The deluxe package included everything pizza, juice, cake, and they set up and clean up the party room. They got to swim. Thank you to Richard and Tina so professional and got things done.

Is there a regular pool for adults to the swim in?

There isn't much to do for adults, the large pool is only 4ft deep on one side. Both ends have basketball hoops and I'm the middle is a volleyball net. Still could be fun, but overall not really for adults.

Right off the bat, I will state that my biggest annoyance was having to pay for parking. It's absurd; if you're already paying for the room, parking should be included. Otherwise, we had a great time. The room was way bigger than the average hotel room of the same amenities. It was clean and comfortable. Loved the convenience of the wristband for getting into the room and also paying (almost) everywhere on site. Dinner at the Lodge Wood Fired Grill was delicious, and our daughter loved being able to look out into the water park from there. Breakfast buffet at Loose Moose was a bit overpriced, but honestly delicious so it was whatever. Prices at restaurants honestly seem "fair", in terms of it being like an amusement park level place. I loved that you could pretty much go wherever you wanted with whatever food/drink you wanted. Some places can be nit-picky about those things, so this was refreshing. I don't usually spring for Fast Lane either but seeing how it was Saturday and Opening Day where The Carolinas Come Together I shelled out mainly with this magnificent mechanical monstrosity in mind. I got in seven rides on this beautiful beast. Carowinds doesn't let you choose what row you want to ride but the luck of the draw eventually rewarded me with both the front and back rows. Front is very scenic. Carowinds still had some skeleton from Halloweekends laying on the ground at the end of the veeery looong first drop which was a nice touch. Front row had my eyes watering like crazy from all the air rushing by at such high speeds. It took several rides before I got anywhere near the rear of the train but when I did I landed in the very back row and Jesus Murphy! The way that train yanks you over the crest of the lift hill had my heart in my throat! That first drop is a doozy. I couldn't get enough of it. Nor of the rest of the ride. The huge overbanked turns, the airtime hills, the flyover and flyunder of the concourse leading to the park entrance, just the overall speed - Fury is the complete package. That tunnel under the walk up to the main entrance is so much better and more dramatic than Gatekeeper's keyholes up at Cedar Point, which doesn't seem like it should be the case since they're so cool looking and unique but this coaster is much faster, bigger and better. What a way for a park to announce itself. Fury is also much better than Cedar Point's giga coaster, Millennium Force. Better pacing and elements and you really feel those extra few feet in that first drop even if it lacks that beautiful Lake Erie setting. Because of this the Cedar Point fanboy in me is glad that Carowinds has nothing like Top Thrill 2. (Which I haven't ridden yet though I've been on its predecessor.) After 7 rides on Fury I'd place it as my third favorite coaster of all time, behind only RMC hybrids Iron Gwazi and Steel Vengeance. So I see why it won all those awards for Best Steel Coaster. It's got a great color scheme and lighting package too, even if short daylight and park hours kept me from getting a night ride in. As a Pistons fan I'm not a big fan of the blatant ripoff of the Charlotte Hornets for the theming but it's funny they don't get any royalties and even I have to admit the logo and hexagon hive theming look pretty cool. Hell, I almost bought a 70s style ringer Fury t-shirt with colored sleeves but they didn't have it in my size. Ride ops were top notch even on opening day. I imagine they staff this one with their best people. I don't know if I'll ever find myself at Carowinds again. I probably won't go out of my way unless they build at least two more amazing coasters but this one here is worth the trip if you've never been. And if I lived around here this one would keep me coming back.

WHY DID I WAIT SO MANY YEARS TO COME HERE!!!!…read more Wow, I had TOO much fun this year at the Carolina Renaissance Festival with a group of friends. We went on a Saturday around 11am and there was light traffic getting in, but it moved quickly and flowed smoothly. The parking situation was very organized and quick. The lot is massive but they have staff every step of the way so it was seamless. We walked a little ways to the entrance but everyone is in costume so the people watching started immediately and that was so fun! Before you even enter the gates to the festival they have some cool vendors out front. There was even the Tardis from Doctor Who and I lost my mind with excitement!!! I couldn't believe it!!! That encounter really set the pace for the rest of the day because I was on cloud 9 before we even entered the park!!!! Once we entered it was really like stepping back in time. The festival grounds were clean and the buildings looked in great shape. All the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. There's so much to see and eat. I thoroughly enjoyed a turkey leg, loaded baked potato, roasted pecans and pumpkin ale! Honestly, this was such a great time!!!! I cannot wait to go back next year. Expect to wait in line for anything and everything and arrive early to any shows you want to see because seats fill up fast. I enjoyed the Witch Trial comedy show where they actually chose one of my friends as a volunteer and it was hilarious! The Joust was fun and had some unexpected twists, but the bleacher seats are sooooo uncomfortable. The Falconry show was my favorite. We got to interact with the Raven and give him tips. The birds fly super close to you and might even touch your head when going over. I'd recommend anyone visiting at least once! It's a worthwhile experience. Expect to spend a chunk of change, and you should definitely dress up! Of course, you won't stand out if you don't, so don't worry about that. Subject: Formal Complaint - Unsafe Conditions, Unprofessional Conduct, and Denied Refund…read more I am writing to formally complain about a serious safety issue and unprofessional conduct I experienced during my recent visit to K1 Speed. During my race session, the race was stopped multiple times because other drivers spun out. Staff stated these interruptions were necessary for safety. However, during the same session, I was struck multiple times at high speed by other karts, and the race was not stopped, nor was the situation addressed. This inconsistent handling of safety created a situation that felt unsafe and poorly managed. Because of the repeated interruptions and the collisions I experienced, I requested a refund after the race. My request was denied without a clear or reasonable explanation. What made the situation worse was the way my concerns were handled by an employee named Gavin. Instead of listening or attempting to resolve the issue, he spoke to me in an unprofessional manner and went on a prolonged rant blaming customers for what was happening on the track. I felt dismissed and disrespected rather than assisted. This is not acceptable customer service. I paid for a safe and well-managed racing experience and did not receive one. I expect this matter to be reviewed seriously. I am requesting a refund for this session and a response explaining how this situation will be addressed to prevent similar incidents in the future. I look forward to your prompt response.
