Wow I loved this place! Came for a friends birthday on Friday around 10pm and had a blast. It was 7 of us and we had an hour of play time. Lasers and hoops were easily my favorite, but some of the other strategy and memorization games were super challenging go and fun as well. Also, some of these games really get you to work up a sweat haha! Friendly staff, easy interface with wristband to enter game rooms, a couple of them took a few tries to get the hang of, but other than that, most were straightforward and loads of fun. This beats any escape room, hands down- it's more active, complex, and engaging for everyone, plus it's nice that you can choose which games to play as you break up into smaller groups. Activate was a good time! You really need to prepare yourself for a workout because the simulations are physically taxing!! There are multiple rooms with different games to play. The staff was super friendly and explained the concept of the games. You can also watch a module on how the game should be played. Everyone should experience activate at least once, I brought my son here for his birthday and he and his friend had a blast. Everything seemed clean, my only gripe was the the hand sanitizer stations that they had set up were empty. Some of the games require you to touch balls and leave your hands feeling icky, maybe that's a me thing but why have sanitation stations set up that aren't working or empty. Only criticism is most games are highly reliant on having different colors for different players, and this was a bit challenging for my colorblind husband. What a cool place!! This was a super fun experience. I like that they have both competitive and collaborative options. My favorite rooms were the major laser and the major grid, but the ones where you throw the basketballs and the little balls were also very fun. It ends up being a pretty good workout! Now cons- It didn't seem like there were thaaaat many people there but we did end up waiting around for rooms to open for more time than I would have liked. That would be fine except some games take a bit of a throw away or practice round to really "get" and then if there's a group waiting you have to go back out and wait for them before you can retry. So if at all possible, try to go on "off peak" days/times to minimize traffic. I also wish they had another major laser room because that was clearly the most popular and there were always multiple groups waiting. But all in all highly highly recommend for both kids and adults. After reading an article about Activate I was ready to go. It was time for something different to celebrate our anniversary. I went online to register ahead it was quick and easy. You play a deposit to hold your spot. I completely understand why. I do tell you to arrive 15 minutes early and to wear workout clothes. The staff was very helpful since this was our first time they gave us a brief tour and how to play the games. I highly recommend: wear the workout clothes and stretching beforehand. Also, read the instructions on how to play each game to have the best outcome on the first try. We had an amazing time and burned a lot of calories. You get a full workout at this place. I had seen a lot of advertisements for this place and finally got to give it a go. I brought my husband and two kids, ages 11 & 13, to try it out. This is a great activity for school aged kids to move around that isn't a trampoline park. Please be prepared to move! I think we were all sweating after our first few activities. You start with 75 minutes begining with the first game and time does not stop in between events. The wait time in between was short, about 1-3 minutes, if there were no groups in front of you. My favorite rooms were Laser and Grid. I wasn't too found of the of Hoops or the ones with throwing balls, but only because I'm terrible at throwing things, haha. I think if you played basketball or baseball you would really enjoy them. I found the Hide room one of the most difficult since you're running around a giant room hitting buttons but is great for larger groups. Stopped by Activate on a Saturday afternoon and had a great experience! I did make a reservation as when I tried to go a previous time they didn't have any availability for walk ins. The price was around $30 a person and you get to play for 75 mins. I enjoyed trying the different game rooms and taking advantage of the free Photo Booth. The games range from easy to challenging so there is something for everyone. It was definitely a workout so I'd suggest wearing tennis shoes and comfortable clothing. Came to this place for a group outing and it was really fun! There are enough rooms to accommodate a larger crowd. It definitely gets your heart rate up in a creative way. We went here in a Friday afternoon. It was so much fun! You have to make a reservation online and they hold a deposit fee and you pay the rest when you arrive. They had times staring about every 10min up until 11pm. When we went it wasn't that busy. They give you a complimentary locker to hold your stuff. Like a bag or anything that you can't hold in your pocket. Once we put our stuff in our locker you can sign the waiver which they had multiple stations to do so. The staff will give you a wrist band for the locker and for the games. One of the staff members showed us how to get started by tapping the wrist band to the screen and also explained we can play as a team or complete with each other. It was just my fiancé and I and it's just the people in your group who are allowed in your room. There are multiple games per room. They give you 75 mins to play all of the games you want. And you can repeat most of them. They had about 8 rooms with many different games. And one of the perks was if no one was waiting in line for the room you could play another game. The games are about 2 minutes long and boy do you get a workout. We were sweating by the end of the time. The games were fun. We will be going again and we are going to invite some of our friends next time. I think this is a great spot to have people together for a fun thing to do. read more

Fun for ALL! I have been raving about this place to all of my friends! The inner child in me absolutely loved Activate Games - especially that MEGA GRID room! I have been there 3x now with different groups of people and everyone enjoyed their experiences! The staff is cool and friendly, bathrooms were clean, plenty of sanitation stands through out, and plenty of parking. I recommend avoiding nights before a holiday as it can get pretty busy. Week nights and Sunday's are really the best bang for your buck, its less busy so you can replay the game you love most several times! Highly recommend trying it atleast once! read more

We're so glad we chose Activate, my parents had a blast and so did my niece and nephew! Activate in South Charlotte took me straight back to my childhood! I visited with my cousins, and we had an amazing time checking out the late-night vibe--and trust me, it did not disappoint. By 9:30 PM, most of the players were either on dates or part of adult groups, which added a fun social energy to the experience. The space is impressively clean, especially with the constant flow of people in and out of rooms. Service was on point too--staff did a great job explaining how things work without giving too much away. It's definitely a "learn by doing" kind of place, which made it even more exciting to figure out each game as we went. Each game takes place in separate rooms, and they only last about two minutes, keeping things moving and making the waits super manageable. One thing I loved was the decision not to offer food--this keeps the space clean and mess-free, which I appreciated. Ive been to this Charlotte location twice already, and they never disappoint. In my last time around, we had a party of 6, which made two reservations. After calling several times and pleading to be squeezed in an already sold out schedules, Assistant Manager Alaric was patient, prompt, professional, and went above and beyond in getting the entire party under 1 reservation instead. My only suggestion to the attendees would be to go on a day that isn't sold out/busy during your time, as the reservation is timed once you start and the clock does not stop while you wait for room to vacate. Outside of that, this is a great concept, a good venue, and an exceptional service staff. read more
