The fam and I decided to have a fast and furious day at K1 Speed. The establishment is big and clean. They have a consession stand, an arcade room, and plenty of seating inside. Ample parking available outside. We arrived before noon on a Saturday. There were already groups racing and waiting to race, but the place wasn't packed. Check-in was smooth. We each had to sign a waiver, pay, then choose our head wraps. You pay per race: 1 Race - $22 2 Races - $35 3 Races - $48 We bought one race each for myself and my SO and 3 races for the little speeder. There was also another fee. I believe it was a yearly fee of some sort. You just pay for it once. We all wanted to race together, but adults and children are divided into separate races. An attendant alternates the races between children and adults. As first time drivers, we received a briefing on rules and safety. The gokarts are electric powered and easy to maneuver. A big screen right above the finish line displays your ranking throughout the entire race. Each session lasts about 10 minutes. After each race, you can pick up a Race Result Sheet at the counter. It shows your time, speed, and rank against other drivers. It also provides a graph picture. Pretty neat. We didn't try the food, but I saw the usual snacks: popcorn, nachos, soda, etc. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our little speeder had so much fun and loved getting to see his ranking go up with every race. Before we left, we took pictures at their race awards podium. Fun place for the family!

What a let down. Terrible experience, went two laps at full speed and the rest were all stopped multiple times and going maybe 3 mph. Could've just been a bad mix of bad drivers but wow. They should've offered everyone their money back. Dirty bathrooms. Every stall was a mess, and you can't make out or read any of the beers/beverages because they are so far away from the counter and up on the wall. The employees all seem lost and untrained. Definitely some things to change.

Visit date 2/23/2019- We really enjoyed! The race track was really big with much space. Inside the place was big as well. They have adult and kids racing on the same track but at different times. While one is racing start on getting the next group ready. You have to pay $5.00 that cover your annual membership fee and it also come with a mask. Don't go there hungry. Now the food could be better. It just did not look right so we just had chips and soda. Location and everything else was perfect. You can have a birthday party's there

This is a great place to have some fun. The staff is great and they take care of all the safety. They do have some games and food options as well.

Even the front door was fast.

Best Mother's Day gift ever! My amazing son surprised me with my first-ever visit to K1. He and his buddy had been a few times before and always had great things to say, so I was delighted to try it. We arrived, and found very few other drivers there. (Bonus: if you purchase during the week, it's cheaper.) This was GOOD for me, since I wanted to learn without getting bumped around a lot. The staff was extremely impressive, professional and helpful. In particular, Tyler was there. Now I'm not sure exactly of his official title or role, but I think it's got to be something like, "Master Leader in Charge of Making Sure Drivers Are Happy." At any rate, they got us checked in, educated us on the flags and cars, and let us loose. WOAH what a ride! Now they tell you not to drift, but dirty little secret: I drifted a little (read: a LOT), and it is the best! Shhh - don't tell anyone. That'll be our little secret. They'll never know. I really don't want the drift-police to come get me, so keep that just between us. At any rate, the cars were well maintained, clean, and powerful. With lots of torque. Not super sure what "torque" means but I've heard it before and thought I'd throw it in for good measure. Am sure these cars have it, whatever it is. What made it even more fun was that the different cars were not all exactly alike, so I had a better chance of not coming in last every time. Helmets seemed clean and non-stinky (bonus), and the staff on the track was watchful and very knowledgable with their flag-waving skills. (No, really, you guys were great.) Did you know if you go and race and buy a lot of races and don't have time to race them all that weeknight, they'll let you save your extra races on your account for the next time you go - even if you go back on a weeknight! BONUS! So they don't let you take pix while in the track area, so no fun to show there, but here's a pix of us outside the front door. Great fun at the front door. Lovely front door. Sorry, it's all I got. Hey, here's an idea - wear a gopro atop your helmet when you go. Tyler, can we do that? It would make me happy, and you're in charge of that, remember? OK, so go. Race. Enjoy. And tell Tyler I said hi.

We visited tonight for my sons birthday. There were 6 riders with our family. We arrived when they opened and paid it was a 2 1/2 hour wait to race. I wasn't concerned because I thought we could eat dinner and play the arcade. It was 5:30 by the time we got through the line and they didn't have the kitchen open. Then at the arcade they had taken all of the basketballs from the basket ball game and pool balls from the pool table. We had already put our money in the pool table before we knew there were no balls. They then proceeded to turn all of the games off. When I asked they said there had been a private event and all of the games had been free and they were waiting on someone to come and change them back to take tokens. So we were then stuck for 2 hours waiting to race and nothing for the children to do. If this had been explained ahead of time that the arcade was not going to be open and we wouldn't be able to get food there would have been no issue. They refunded our money paid toward the pool game in tokens.... that were no good because they had turned all of the games off. We won't be back and will tell everyone we know about our experience. We were really looking forward to a fun night for my sons 10th birthday and to say we were disappointed is an understatement.

I had so much fun racing around. Some of the cars were good but some of them were a bit rickety and felt a bit slower.

First, this is still a great place for the kids, especially the younger ones up to about middle school age. There is a lot to do and plenty of fun to be had. I also think it's a decent bargain compared to something like a beach trip which is it's biggest competition in NC at least. The fact that it's easier and simpler for the parents to just do everything under one roof is another bonus compared to another type of trip. There are some negatives: the price for everything goes up and it's harder to find bargain deals but they do still exist if you're flexible on dates especially. The place is also showing it's age ever so slightly and could use with some touch ups or even new features in a few places. They have updated some areas: the laser tag and 3d/vr adventure are both refreshed and both are nice - bring tennis shoes by the way, or you won't be able to participate in these. Things like the $20 parking are a bit annoying given it's just an open parking lot like any hotel and literally every guest is parking because it's a destination hotel.

Also, there are elevators at the center and wings of the resort, so if you room is not near one of these area, you are hoofing it with your luggage. One of the biggest perks is you can come before check in time and take your family directly to the water park while you wait for your room to be ready. They provide a changing room and lockers in case you need them. However, if you use Apple Pay the self check in kiosk will not recognize your credit card you use so you have to go to the front desk. The water park has several rides, a wave pool, and indoor pool with water games and an outdoor pool. There is ample seating but it is very humid in the water park bc of all the water circulating. You cannot consume outside food in the water park but you can in your room. So we spent all afternoon at the water park until it closed and then I ran out and picked up some food. Our room (kid cabin suite) was well apportioned and the lodge understands how to help families with water sports. They provide shampoo, soap, lotion and a clothes line. Also, a lot of stuff they advertise costs extra (mini golf, adventure quest, etc) but if you have little kids paying for a late check out may be helpful bc you can go to the water park starting at 0900. Fun family trip but be ready to spend some money.

We went on a Saturday around 11am and there was light traffic getting in, but it moved quickly and flowed smoothly. The parking situation was very organized and quick. The lot is massive but they have staff every step of the way so it was seamless. We walked a little ways to the entrance but everyone is in costume so the people watching started immediately and that was so fun! Before you even enter the gates to the festival they have some cool vendors out front. There was even the Tardis from Doctor Who and I lost my mind with excitement!!! I couldn't believe it!!! That encounter really set the pace for the rest of the day because I was on cloud 9 before we even entered the park!!!! Once we entered it was really like stepping back in time. The festival grounds were clean and the buildings looked in great shape. All the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. There's so much to see and eat. I thoroughly enjoyed a turkey leg, loaded baked potato, roasted pecans and pumpkin ale! Honestly, this was such a great time!!!! I cannot wait to go back next year. We left about 2:30 pm because we really had so much fun in such a short time. This worked out too because we completely avoided the traffic leaving. It was really a perfect trip! The car line to get in and out was quite long, but overall it's a smooth experience. Free parking, but you will end up walking about a mile to the entrance so comfortable shoes are a MUST. The main thing I wanted to experience was a turkey leg, and they did not disappoint! The price is definitely steep at $16 each, but they are huge and delicious. Cash only but ATMS are all around. Expect to wait in line for anything and everything and arrive early to any shows you want to see because seats fill up fast. I enjoyed the Witch Trial comedy show where they actually chose one of my friends as a volunteer and it was hilarious! The Joust was fun and had some unexpected twists, but the bleacher seats are sooooo uncomfortable. The Falconry show was my favorite. We got to interact with the Raven and give him tips. The birds fly super close to you and might even touch your head when going over. I'd recommend anyone visiting at least once! It's a worthwhile experience. Expect to spend a chunk of change, and you should definitely dress up! Of course, you won't stand out if you don't, so don't worry about that. Anyone will fit in here and feel welcomed by the environment.

Strong sense of community here. Decent snack bar, with large selection, reasonable prices and outstanding iced tea. Terrible Nachos, just Salty Cheese and Saltier Corn Chips. Great cold Angry Orchard. Bonus points for offering over the counter painkillers right on the menu! The staff is great too. The efforts to keep patrons safe post pandemic were easy to see. I appreciated that they had a bottle of hand sanitizer at each table, and a handless door pull in the restroom. What I didn't like was the poor ventilation and the lack of cleanliness in the ladies restroom. The old stretched out disgusting, bowling shoes looked like the literal personification of COVID 19. To balance the scales of these issues they need to serve hard liquor. One hour before closing they threatened to turn the lights down and play romantic music! What the moonlight bowling was this unholy amalgam!!! Thank goodness I was good and gone before this happened. I laughed so freaking hard, I almost stayed JUST to witness it. While there are so many things to like about this family friendly place, it should come as no surprise that I don't plan on going here nor any bowling alley again. Four well earned stars.
