My sons and I had a fun time. We can on New Year's Eve I believe. Not many people/drivers. Compared to traditional, fuel-based go karting this place rocks! Cars are fast, responsive and racing was competitive. It was our first time to K-1, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Food available and fine too. Main issue we encountered was very slow sing-up/registering and payment when entering. There should have been two people working the front desk. Not cool to wait 30 min on a non-busy day just to get in. Maybe it was related to holiday staffing. Nevertheless, we left with smiles on our faces and will be back. read more

Subject: Formal Complaint - Unsafe Conditions, Unprofessional Conduct, and Denied Refund I am writing to formally complain about a serious safety issue and unprofessional conduct I experienced during my recent visit to K1 Speed. During my race session, the race was stopped multiple times because other drivers spun out. Staff stated these interruptions were necessary for safety. However, during the same session, I was struck multiple times at high speed by other karts, and the race was not stopped, nor was the situation addressed. This inconsistent handling of safety created a situation that felt unsafe and poorly managed. Because of the repeated interruptions and the collisions I experienced, I requested a refund after the race. My request was denied without a clear or reasonable explanation. What made the situation worse was the way my concerns were handled by an employee named Gavin. Instead of listening or attempting to resolve the issue, he spoke to me in an unprofessional manner and went on a prolonged rant blaming customers for what was happening on the track. I felt dismissed and disrespected rather than assisted. This is not acceptable customer service. I paid for a safe and well-managed racing experience and did not receive one. I expect this matter to be reviewed seriously. I am requesting a refund for this session and a response explaining how this situation will be addressed to prevent similar incidents in the future. Trash. Took my 6yr son and two friends. Walked in at 12:30 and was told it would be 20-30m until the race. 45m later I asked the front desk and they told me it would be another 40m. They did get my boys a free pizza tho. After being there for 90m, two of my votes were called but we got bumped because they couldn't put all three together. I was told the next race but it was another 30m. After being there for 2hrs and not racing I requested a refund. At the desk, they told me we were racing next. Another lie, it was an additional 30m. I refunded 2/3 races but wish I had know these people were stringing me along. If it was too busy, I just would have come back another day but thanks to the lies and incompetence of these employees and failure of their system, I wasted half a day. Chatting with an employee on the track and it appears the problem of people demanding refunds and walking out is chronic. Shout out to Marissa whose customer service was on point. read more

I took my grandkids, one had been before the other had not. They had a great time. However, I was disappointed that I paid for 12 laps for each and they ended up with 8. It is deceiving because when the first person to finish 12 laps is done the race ends. If you are at 7 or 8 laps that is all you get. I was told it was a safety issue or that if they let the last person get 12 laps the first person might get 15, so what! OR they could go by timing, 10-12 minutes on the track. I felt deceived and cheated for my grand kids. It is expensive to be cut short. They also were racing against a much more experienced driver. read more

I went here to celebrate my birthday. They kept making my dad's and my kart slow, and others passed us even as we were at full speed. There has to be some favoritism going on. After the second round, I lost confidence and started getting nervous. I was going to crash into someone with my slower kart, but by the last lap, I decided to accept it and do what I wanted and could. We spent about 200 dollars on that experience, and if I could, I'd like a refund because it was that bad, and my dad was upset about it. My dad used to drive karts back then and even won many trophies. If he's upset and confused about why this is happening, there's something wrong, especially since he's level-headed. There was also this one incident a few years back where a man kept looking and glancing at me while we were getting ready in the karts, and he talked to the staff in a friendly, joking manner. My kart was in one of the slower modes when the race started, even when flooring the pedal. The man kept looking at me while he passed me, and I'm sure he was laughing. My dad's car was at a standard fast speed, and I thought this was weird too. I was around 16 or 15 at the time. It's sick that a man more than twice my age was having fun at my expense and seemingly had the power to do so. I came here for a good time, not a bad one. I won't come back, and unless you're close to the people there, you shouldn't either. I copied, pasted, and revised my review from a year ago, which I made on my birthday, and decided to put it on Yelp. It was my 18th birthday. Was my first time racing with electric carts and it was a blast! Had to get used to not using the gas and brake at the same time because the electric carts will slow down to a stop if you do, but otherwise had a great time with the electric carts. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I felt very safe here, and the track is great! I would definitely recommend coming on a week day to get the best experience. read more

The fam and I decided to have a fast and furious day at K1 Speed. The establishment is big and clean. They have a consession stand, an arcade room, and plenty of seating inside. Ample parking available outside. We arrived before noon on a Saturday. There were already groups racing and waiting to race, but the place wasn't packed. Check-in was smooth. We each had to sign a waiver, pay, then choose our head wraps. You pay per race: 1 Race - $22 2 Races - $35 3 Races - $48 We bought one race each for myself and my SO and 3 races for the little speeder. There was also another fee. I believe it was a yearly fee of some sort. You just pay for it once. We all wanted to race together, but adults and children are divided into separate races. An attendant alternates the races between children and adults. As first time drivers, we received a briefing on rules and safety. The gokarts are electric powered and easy to maneuver. A big screen right above the finish line displays your ranking throughout the entire race. Each session lasts about 10 minutes. After each race, you can pick up a Race Result Sheet at the counter. It shows your time, speed, and rank against other drivers. It also provides a graph picture. Pretty neat. We didn't try the food, but I saw the usual snacks: popcorn, nachos, soda, etc. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our little speeder had so much fun and loved getting to see his ranking go up with every race. Before we left, we took pictures at their race awards podium. Fun place for the family! read more

I had so much fun racing around. Some of the cars were good but some of them were a bit rickety and felt a bit slower.

What a let down. Terrible experience, went two laps at full speed and the rest were all stopped multiple times and going maybe 3 mph. Could've just been a bad mix of bad drivers but wow. They should've offered everyone their money back. Dirty bathrooms. Every stall was a mess, and you can't make out or read any of the beers/beverages because they are so far away from the counter and up on the wall. The employees all seem lost and untrained. While one is racing start on getting the next group ready. You have to pay $5.00 that cover your annual membership fee and it also come with a mask. Don't go there hungry. Best Mother's Day gift ever! My amazing son surprised me with my first-ever visit to K1. He and his buddy had been a few times before and always had great things to say, so I was delighted to try it. We arrived, and found very few other drivers there. (Bonus: if you purchase during the week, it's cheaper.) This was GOOD for me, since I wanted to learn without getting bumped around a lot. The staff was extremely impressive, professional and helpful. In particular, Tyler was there. Now I'm not sure exactly of his official title or role, but I think it's got to be something like, "Master Leader in Charge of Making Sure Drivers Are Happy." At any rate, they got us checked in, educated us on the flags and cars, and let us loose. WOAH what a ride! Now they tell you not to drift, but dirty little secret: I drifted a little (read: a LOT), and it is the best! Shhh - don't tell anyone. That'll be our little secret. They'll never know. I really don't want the drift-police to come get me, so keep that just between us. At any rate, the cars were well maintained, clean, and powerful. With lots of torque. Not super sure what "torque" means but I've heard it before and thought I'd throw it in for good measure. Am sure these cars have it, whatever it is. What made it even more fun was that the different cars were not all exactly alike, so I had a better chance of not coming in last every time. Helmets seemed clean and non-stinky (bonus), and the staff on the track was watchful and very knowledgable with their flag-waving skills. (No, really, you guys were great.) Did you know if you go and race and buy a lot of races and don't have time to race them all that weeknight, they'll let you save your extra races on your account for the next time you go - even if you go back on a weeknight! BONUS! So they don't let you take pix while in the track area, so no fun to show there, but here's a pix of us outside the front door. Great fun at the front door. Lovely front door. We visited tonight for my sons birthday. There were 6 riders with our family. We arrived when they opened and paid it was a 2 1/2 hour wait to race. I wasn't concerned because I thought we could eat dinner and play the arcade. It was 5:30 by the time we got through the line and they didn't have the kitchen open. Then at the arcade they had taken all of the basketballs from the basket ball game and pool balls from the pool table. We had already put our money in the pool table before we knew there were no balls. They then proceeded to turn all of the games off. When I asked they said there had been a private event and all of the games had been free and they were waiting on someone to come and change them back to take tokens. So we were then stuck for 2 hours waiting to race and nothing for the children to do. If this had been explained ahead of time that the arcade was not going to be open and we wouldn't be able to get food there would have been no issue. They refunded our money paid toward the pool game in tokens.... that were no good because they had turned all of the games off. We won't be back and will tell everyone we know about our experience. We were really looking forward to a fun night for my sons 10th birthday and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. read more

This place is incredibly poorly managed. We show up, place looks empty and we pay $150 for 2 races. Going on hour 3 here, still waiting for #2. People who showed up after us races before us. For our 2nd race, after waiting a bit, I ask when our next race is and we were told we'd be up in 2 races. We are going on 5 races now since that time. The excuse from the manager was - "well sometimes groups show up." What??? When you go to a restaurant, you are told how long the wait is and you decide to wait or not. Would have given a zero if possible. Overall, the employees are rude and unhelpful. Arrive and drive races will be run at half power due to the laziness of the staff to turn up the karts. At a hefty price, you would think the staff would be willing to help the customers. You would be wrong. League races are even worse. June's event took over three hours due to transponder issues, karts breaking, the system not putting guys in the right races, and the staff literally not knowing what was a race versus a qualifying session. At the end of the night, they ran two separate main events due to "computer issues" when the problem could have been solved in five minutes had they listened to the drivers. Had raced with k1 prior for years. This was an extremwly unsafe staff. I was purposely hit on the track multiple times against the rules of the track. When we requested to race with a better group thT isnt playing bumper cars was told to wait over 3 hrs. Lack of managemnet unsafe. read more

There's not many times where I am fully impressed all around by a business, but this is one of them. It's a little expensive but it's worth every penny. Every crew member had a positive attitude as soon as we walked through the door. The young girl who registered us was very polite and Tyler was very informative and helpful with everything. Outstanding people work here. We drove all the way here from Charleston, SC for my girlfriends birthday. This was the BEST indoor kart racing experience we've ever had. Don't get me wrong the racing part of it is extremely fun but when the staff slows down your kart for no apparent reason it's very annoying. I was racing and doing very good and then my kart got slowed all the sudden for the last 2 or 3 laps of the race. Putting down full throttle and everyone was still going faster and passing me. Lots of fun for my nine-year-old. It is well organized and the adult carts are fast. They do a nice job of minimizing wait times by running races back to back. They also prep the drivers while the prior race is running. I also like that it's all in a contained area----which is a Godsend if you need to keep track of multiple kids. read more

I have been here 3x with my kids they love it. However the last time we went there were a lot of adults so it took 2 hours for my kids to race two times and that was to long. To top it off they did not get to go around the track the first time 12 laps I counted it was 8 when I made a mention to the ladies at the front desk it was nah they did there 12. Basically telling me I can't count after waiting an hour for my kids to ride. The next time they went they did get 12 laps in. They are covid safe which is nice and seem like everything is kept clean. A bit expensive on beer and soda and when I say that it was 7.00 for a Stella bottle. We have one more race to go and that will be it for our family. I did not like having someone basically say I could not count. read more

Not only was there a long wait time for the races but the food took over 2 hours for an order of fries to come out to us, without our pizza and wings that we never received. Absolutely ridiculous. My friends and I arrived at K1 at 4:00pm, they told us that it was a 4hour long wait because we didn't have an appointment, then we had to pre pay to be put into the cue. we came back 4 hours later and they tell us that were not put into a cue and we have to wait an additional 2.5 hours. This establishment is very poorly run. there were 5 workers trackside and everyone just standing around. There was at least 15min idle time in between races before they even began calling the next drivers. The worst!!! So many disappointed customers. Major letdown on my first visit here. first two races went fairly well. Third race I spent more time sitting in my kart not moving due to issues with the karts. I understand stuff like that can happen but 3 total stops of about 5 minutes each is ridiculous. Especially when we approached staff saying we didn't feel we got our moneys worth and they say the race was consistent. The only thing that was consistent was the stops of 5 minutes. I would find another track to go to with more reasonable employees. read more

Visiting from Las Vegas! This track is clean and the cars are in excellent condition. My kids had so much fun here we had to come back a second day. If you are not used to indoor cart prices, you might have sticker shock but they have specials on weekdays. The staff was really nice and accommodating. I plan to come back next time I am in Concord. read more
