This business couldn't have been anymore kind to me when I was in Michigan last weekend. My kids…read moreand I were going skiing at Timber Ridge and on the drive there I noticed my car sounding really bad and was not driving right at all. It was Saturday around 2:30 and I was so worried I wouldn't find a place open to help me. I stopped at the Ace Hardware in town and they directed me here because they were still open to 4:00. I drove there and spoke with Brian (the owner) about my car. He took my car out for a drive and said he thought it was probably a wheel bearing gone bad. I had to drive back to Indianapolis the next day and had kids with me etc. I needed it fixed now. He was not able to help me because his shop was full and they closed at 4:00. BUT he started calling other places he thought might be open to see if they could help me!! He found a Firestone in Kalamazoo that he spoke with and said asked if they could help me today. They could!!! Brian actually knew Rick who worked there for 20+ years and told him I'd be right over. So I thanked him profusely (and his wife, Brenda) and drove slowly there. Well Rick @ Firestone got my car all fixed and I couldn't be anymore grateful that Brian from Family Auto went above and beyond finding someone for me to go to. On top of it all Brian CALLED Firestone to make sure I made there ok. Amazing kindness!!! All I can say that people that show this amount of kindness and caring to a stranger have to a great business that cares!!! I made it safely back to Indy the next day and couldn't be any more grateful for Family Auto (Brian and Brenda, owners) for helping me find someone that day. Good caring people still exist....!

He pulled my car right in the shop figured out the problem, cleaned up all the anti freeze under the hood and He didn't even mind me bringing my dog in the shop to wait he was such a nice guy. I had a very disappointing experience with this business. Our alternator failed while driving home…read morefrom a long trip (MI to CO), and we were towed to Arndt's. From the start, communication was extremely poor--I had to initiate every interaction. No one provided updates unless I repeatedly asked for them. Our vehicle was towed to the garage around 11 a.m. I was told the part needed to be ordered and wouldn't arrive until late that day. Since they closed at 5 p.m., the repair would be pushed to the next day. After 4 hours of no communication the next day I started calling once an hour--for status updates and was consistently told vague things like "they're working on it" or "they're finishing up." I never received a proactive call from them. It took them two days to switch out an alternator. Eventually, after all those follow-ups, I was told at 5:30 p.m. that the car was finally ready--but again, only because I called. When I asked the receptionist why I hadn't received any updates and why the delay occurred, she became aggressive and shouted at me, claiming they didn't receive the part until that morning and that it wasn't her fault. She continued yelling, to the point that I had to ask if this was how she typically treated customers. From the start of my experience I stood in the office many times without being acknowledged at all. The manager gave off a noticeably dismissive and possibly misogynistic attitude. Interestingly, things only began to move forward after my brother called to ask for an update. The one positive was that they provided transportation to a hotel, though we had to stay there for two days due to the extended repair time.

I had no idea where to start. Jason at Certified Auto Repair has been a godsend. Some minor cosmetic surgery might be needed to eliminate a few wrinkles in her complexion, but Jason was able to put life back into my car and get her in great running condition.
