Owner is yelling foul languages & threatening me.
S M.

Theft of my phone while at Ray's Transmission Service Center. On 9/25/23 at about 7:30 am I dropped off my car at Ray's Transmission shop on 959 Queen's St, Honolulu for a transmission oil change. I came back at about 8:30 am & it was not done so I came back again at about 9:15 am & they were finished. Hence, I have paid & drove off. While stopped at a traffic light I had opened & checked my middle compartment & found my portable flashlight & extra phone, Samsung Galaxy A71 5G missing. So I went back to Ray's Transmission & advised the owner, which he refused to listen & advised for me to go home & check. I drove home as I needed to check my dash cam camera facing inside the car with my computer. I got home & checked with my computer & saw that the worker leaned over to his right after test driving the car after finishing with the transmission oil change. I made a short copy of the video with my phone camera & went back to Ray's Transmission shop. The dash cam facing inside the car is showing as inverse so the workers left is actually the work's right. Once arriving at Ray's Transmission shop I went over to their small office & asked for my credit card that I had left after paying, which the lady gave it back. I then asked for the owner & once he came I had tried to explain that I have a video showing the worker leaning over to his right side where the middle compartment is at, but the owner refused to see the video nor listen & just kept on cutting me off by telling me that "No one here took anything from your car, go home." I was at least hoping to see their video camera or try & talk to the worker as I was keep trying to explain that my personal information was in that phone & that I am not concerned with the cost. But the owner kept refusing to listen & kept cutting me off. Hence, I got in my car & called for police so that I could make a police report for my documentation in case of a possible identity theft situation in the future. As the owner was passing by my car I again tried to explain to him that I have called police to file a police report to document this incident just in case of an identity theft, which he refused to listen & all of a sudden he started yelling out foul languages with foul words & threatening body languages as you can see in the still shots. The whole video is of the owner yelling out foul words & threatening languages with foul body simulations & threatening body languages. The following is just some that I could make out from my dash cam video: Me: All I wanted was to get the phone. Ray's Transmission owner: Beat it! Me: Don't be rude, come on. Ray's Transmission owner: Fuck you! Me: You are on camera. Ray's Transmission owner: You better get the fuck out of here, fuck you! (while motioning very threateningly) Me: Police have been called. (He then starts walking away) Ray's Transmission owner: Yells lots of foul words & threatening languages with body motions while walking back to me. As I am trying to back up my car to get out of the shop the owner of Ray's Transmission keeps yelling out foul languages & threats with body motions while coming towards me, which is when the police officers arrived & told him to move away & walked him away from me. The owner of Ray's Transmission have threatened me with foul languages & body motions, which the police officers have also noted on their report. Yet, the owner of Ray's Transmission have stated that he had simply asked me to leave on the police report, which is totally not true. The police have written otherwise on their report so it clearly shows that the owner of Ray's Transmission have made a false statement to the police officers. I am very disappointed with Ray's Transmission at 959 Queen's Street in Honolulu. The owner could have at least offered to show their video & also try & talk to the employee that was in my car, which he didn't. I was just asking for some support, but instead I received a bunch of foul language yelling & threats & also with body motions as shown on the video, which I am still not able to understand why the owner of Ray's Transmission behaved as such, so hysterically mad. I have already called in the IMEI #355181111159447 as stolen so the phone is worthless to anyone else. I was using it as a speedometer while driving & taking photos of my receipts for tax purpose instead of holding onto the hard copies, which I did not get to transfer it to my computer. I also had some other personal information in the phone, which I should have erased when I had upgraded. Photos are as follows: Worker stopping at 9:18 am while inside my car Worker leaning to his right at 9:18 am while inside my car Owner yelling with foul words & threats with indecent body motions at 10:49 am Owner yelling with foul words & threats with indecent body motions at 10:59 am Police officer telling & escorting the owner to move away from me at 11:00 am Police Report page 1 - 6 Receipt for the Transmission oil change

Came here to get a diagnosis on my car due to transmission issues. As my car was kicking from time to time when it shifts gears. The work only took them about less than one hour to diagnose, explained to them I was at work so I'll come by and pick the car up later. Upon arriving I received the bill, only to find out the total cost of the so called labor came out to be 260+tax. Who charges 260 dollars to diagnose a car that took less than an hour, I dropped my car off at around 11:05 during my lunch and received a call at 11:55 explaining the resolution. If you're going to charge someone 260 at least disclose to them first that it will be approx 260, and ask them are you sure you want to do it. Not have them find out the cost at the time paying. And the front desk lady explain to me, we charge this high because people would go to their friends to do the work. Update: owner called in regards to this review, I am giving two stars more because of the honesty and the caring they have for their customers.

Thankfully, they weren't too far away. When I arrived, the gentleman immediately welcomed me, pulled my van into the shop, and started diagnosing the issue. The customer service I received was exceptional, and I truly appreciate how helpful and accommodating they were. I'm looking forward to having them service my vehicle and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for honest and great customer service. I also want to add that while my van was being diagnosed, the gentleman noticed my coolant was low and took the time to add more coolant for me. I truly appreciate that extra step. It showed me that they genuinely care about their customers and are willing to help beyond just the service they're providing. Small acts like that really stand out and mean a lot. Thank you for your kindness and for going above and beyond. I wanted to come back and update my review now that everything has been completed. I picked up my van, and the AC is working great! The repair was completed, and I'm very happy with the results. The final price was reasonable for the amount of labor involved, and I appreciate the work that was done. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service and look forward to bringing my van here again for future repairs and maintenance. Thank you, Auto Papa, for getting my AC back up and running!

ALL 3 of the employees on the premises avoided me. No one even bothered to look at me. I tried to approach nicely saying excuse me, and all of them don't talk back. They just gesture their hands at me to go away. Like I am seriously shocked... Horrible service. To note, I did go to the office first because I read the sign. But no one was there and I waited with no one coming in to help me. So that is when I tried to ask the employees. I've never been here before so I wasn't sure if someone knew I was waiting since I had no appointment, per the phone call. Well, now I know to never come here.

Charles is the man! I had never used a mobile repair service before I reached Charles to provide a…read morefix for my headlamp. The brick & mortar shops were all giving me the run around and never could provide me with a quote to address the problem with my headlight. I figured my ballast was bad in the headlight however, it wasn't until Charles pulled the headlight did I see that rain and condensation had ruined the ballast and water literally poured out. The headlight configuration on my car didn't allow Charles to remove and replace the ballast without taking the plastic headlight cover off the car. Factory alterations are something he told me upfront he doesn't do, so we decide the best approach was to get a headlamp unit assembly replacement. Charles had quoted me a flat rate of $300 to replace the ballast which included removing part of the front bumper to access the headlamp unit in my car. Since he couldn't replace the ballast with the new one I provided, he put everything back together, charged me only $200 and told me he would come back out after I got the new headlamp and would only charge me the remainder of $100 on the original quote which I felt was more than fair since he essentially would be doing the same job again. I finally got the new headlamp assembly abut 1.5 weeks later, and texted Charles who immediately acknowledged my message and gave me a day he could come back and finish the job. He actually completed the job within 30-40 minutes and everything worked great, headlight is perfect. I can't say enough about how fair Charles is. He quotes you a flat rate for the services you need. He's a great guy, easy going and doesn't waste time, he gets right to work and gets the job done. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs mobile work at their home or place of business, I know I will be using him again. If you're tired of getting jacked up estimates from one of these shops and feel the inconvenience of having to drive to their place of business, Charles will bring his mobile services to you for a fraction of the cost!

So when you damaged the engine block back in October 1, 2025 and took 3 months to try and repair it... The oil is STILL leaking from the cracked AC bracket on the engine block after you said that you repaired it! I KNOW that you're receiving my text messages and you STILL don't call or respond! I've been so patient with you but since you're not responding or answering me, I called https://cca.hawaii.gov/rico/ RICO office to File a complaint against you and your company! The RICO Agent told me that you're NOT even A CERTIFIED LICENSED MACHANIC!!! The RICO Agent also filed my call. I guess it's my fault for not checking your background! Nevertheless, anyone who's operating a business in Hawaii, as a business owner, it's your responsibility to ensure and stand by your work! My wife's Highlander can't be driven and now NEEDS another Engine replacement! I've attached the video of the damage that you caused back in October 1, 2025... So I always like to support Local Businesses like yours and TOTALLY BUMMED THAT because I didn't check to see if you were a Certified Licensed Machanic, I LOST THE USE OF OUR HIGHLANDER and will need to get another replacement engine that might cost $5,000-$6,000.!!! ADVICE TO EVERYONE: Always check that the company you use is a Certified and Licensed person or Company to do the work they advertise!
