TLDR: do NOT use Arvest for a mortgage- THEY LOST MY MONEY!…read more I went through Arvest for my mortgage because of past business relationships with them, and the assurances they gave that they do NOT sell or transfer their mortgage loans. WRONG! They have decided to outsource my mortgage, only 5 years after origination, and in their brilliance decided to do this over the HOLIDAY! I had already made my December payment (via auto pay electronically, just as I have for the past 5 years) when they notified me of the change. I called and asked about it, and they assured me that my payment would be processed and applied to my loan before it got sent to the new bank. Now, here it is 10 days later, and they still have not processed my payment, nor can they even FIND it! The money has been taken out of my bank account as if they received the payment, but they have not applied it to my loan and told me they "don't have the payment." They won't investigate it, telling me to go back to my bank and have them investigate it themselves. Meanwhile, my loan is being sent to the new provider WITHOUT a record of my last payment since Arvest "did not receive it" (even though they did because the money was taken out of my bank account). So, I am now out $1100 for my originally made payment that ARVEST CAN'T FIND, as well as having to come up with ANOTHER $1100 to pay the new company so I am not behind in my loan, until SOMEONE can figure out what Arvest has done with money!

Ms. Meagan was also extremely helpful in the loan process and made us feel comfortable when we set up our accounts and Home loan. Mr. Paul England has been instrumental in our home loan process and offered competitive products that couldn't be beat. Great Southern Bank is the bank my dad had at the Lake of the Ozarks. He died in January of 2009,…read moreso I had to deal with them. I'm still dealing with them. I found a small branch in Lee's Summit, they don't tell you about that branch over the phone. Nor did they have it online in what I believe to be a very antiquated website.. The one in Roach, MO is to be avoided as well. When my dad died, I went through all the red tape at the Lake branch, and did everything legal. I had provided the Ozarks branch with a death certificate. They didn't understand why I couldn't stop there after work, and sign the account over. Wow, first of all, I live in Independence, and couldn't go down to the Ozarks when they requested, so that I could sign papers. by the time I got to the Ozarks, the branch was closed. They insisted that I had to go to that branch to sign the papers. Then they suggested it would be easier if my dad went to the office to sign the account over to me. I couldn't get them to send me the papers. Asked if there was a notary there, they don't offer that service. So, I made many phone calls, through out the year, and in the midst of it, found out there was a small branch (mostly unlisted) in Lee's Summit. I thought my troubles were over. This bank wanted my dad to come in and sign his account over to me, even though my name was on the account. I dropped off the death cert. to them. A few months later, the Lee's Summit office slowly began to understand, that my dad wasn't able to go and sign the paper. Ofcourse, I had to practically draw them a Mapquest, as to the fact that I didn't live at the Lake of the Ozarks, that I live in Independence, MO. They were trying to say I lived at the Lake of the Ozarks, with my dad, and we could go to the branch together, and that is the best way to put the account in my name. After I ripped all of my hair out, a few weeks ago, I was able to discontinue the friggin' account. Those people are dumb, and one star is quite generous. I've ran into lot's of dumb businesses down in southern MO, and I'm going to let each one have it. I would never ever do any banking business with this bank whatsoever. And Lee's Summit should know better, than to be so dumb. Avoid them at all costs.
