Worst experience ever! Typical bulls*** barber shop. No customer service, terrible haircut, attitudes! Save your money and go somewhere else where your money will be appreciated and they can actually cut hair! If you decide to go against what I say don't let the guy who cuts in the second chair from the door cut you he is 100% garbage! Mel the owner I see from previous post my initial appointment was with him when I got there he asked who I was there for when I said Mel not knowing it was him his attitude was like oh whatever. He had a female in the chair and he mumbled something under his breath I couldn't understand him. So a few minutes go by I said to him I can take whoever is available first no big deal. He said oh that's not how we do things here but this time you can then he went on to explain he would be 10min late from when my appointment was set. Well he should have made that clear in the first place. So I told him cool I'll wait he said no go ahead to another barber I said again I'll wait he insisted I go to another barber. That's when I let the guy who just started cutting or has no idea what he's doing cut my hair! The experience was okay. I had an appointment and was taken as soon as I entered the shop which was great. So the appointment process works flawlessly which is always a plus. The haircut was average. Not bad, and certainly not one of my better ones. I wasn't a fan of how he scissor cut my hair on the one side. It looked ok initially, as I was overdue for a cut. But after my first shower and I tried to comb my hair into place it didn't sit well. I have a natural part to my hair on the side and he didn't follow it well. The fade was decent. Just didn't like the scissor work. The part that annoyed me is the barber took a personal phone call, and literally talked nearly the entire time he cut my hair. I've had barbers take calls quick before but usually they stop for a moment, take the call and than start back up. No small talk with me, just listening to him have his conversation. Did not appreciate that. Not very professional in my mind, I felt like his attention was not entirely on the job and perhaps that is why the cut was off on top. In summary, great experience with booking an appointment and getting serviced quickly. Mediocre experience with the actual haircut. read more

This was my first trip to Razored. I knew where this shop was; yet knew nothing about it. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted with professionalism. The owner, Melvin, made sure to establish my comfort right away. The gentleman that cut my hair, Juan, has earned himself a loyal customer. He is very client focused and will give you the perfect cut. Juan is also a veteran; which means you will get customer service the way it should be. Razored Barber Shop is by far one of the most professional Barber Shops I have EVER seen! Offerings: - Online booking for appointments with pricing AND estimated times of completion per service (with text and email confirmations and reminders)! - An extremely tidy shop (it was pretty much spotless inside). - Actual razors use for lining up the hair. - Early morning appointments (can get your hair cut before work). - All the barbers can cut hair of ANY race! - Amazon Fire Stick shows and movies. - PS3 Games for entertainment. - Family friendly environment (no cursing or violent programs/games on the television). - Pressurized a for removing hair during the cut - And more! My Haircut: My typical cut is the cut in the profile picture, though I have been trying to opt for slightly more length on the cut lately. When asked what I want, I always opt for: - Going half way down on the length or "Low". - A rounded/squared fade in the back. - Wide sideburns and beard. - Keeping the beard dark and rounded. Note: I also have seborrheic dermatitis/seborrheic eczema which is basically a severe case of dandruff. If I don't stay on top of it daily, this can make cutting my hair more difficult. Usually I will opt for shampoo services at shops (if provided) as a precautionary measure to ensure a smooth cut, and give far more on the tip if my scalp was not under control before the cut. My Experience: I have been to Razored twice, because I needed haircuts at very specific times (8 am before work, and 5:00 pm before a party at 6), and needed a barber(shop) which could deliver on demand/on schedule. Both times Razored fit the bill perfectly! --The Barber-- My barber was Mel who is also the owner of the store. I typically like to get cut by the owners/partners of shops, because they often have the most vested interest in the business, and will guarantee excellent customer service because of it. Mel is a vet in the haircut business, and is very critical about the professionalism of his shop, crew, and himself. As an aspiring business owner, he is truly a role model, for black men even more so! --The Cut-- The first cut was my typical cut outlined above with a shampoo service, and my second cut was an all around edge up. I arrived either on or before my appointment times, and was seated promptly. I was surprised when Mel asked what I wanted on both trips, because he seemed to be aware of the appointments, but not the service I wanted apparently. Overall, the actual process of cutting the hair was enjoyable! Mel makes as much (or as little) conversation as you would like, and makes sure to put something of your preference on the TV. Hiccups in the cuts were rare (got nicked by the razor once on the first cut, and had the back squared instead of rounded on the second cut), but were apologized for and addressed in a professional manner. The shampoo service on the first cut was forgotten by both of us, but I was not charged for it so there was no issue there! --Cut Impressions-- Unfortunately, reactions to both cuts from onlookers trended more towards "Did you get your hair cut?" vs "NICE HAIRCUT!". This is where appointments have a downside, because when you make appointments under time sensitive conditions, there is not much time to alter an entire cut. However, though my cuts so far seem to have been ok at best, I have witnessed Mel crank out some exceptional looking cuts on the people leaving the chair before my appointment begins, so the talent is absolutely there, it seems to be a matter of lining it up (pun intended) with the style that I like. --Payment-- When it was time to pay, prices were already understood because of the site (huge pro). I was offered to use cash or card (another big plus for me) and Mel used a square (or square-like) PoS (Point of Sale) reader for his phone to swipe the card. The phone had been cracked recently (we've all been there) but worked just fine, and he mentioned he was already in the process of getting the screen fixed. --Closing Comments and Suggestions-- Razored Barber Shop offers one of the most professional haircut experiences in Atlanta! The online appointment booking, as well as the appointments being HONORED on time is critical for those of us with busy schedules. Mel is a great barber who is 100% committed to the customer, and his business. The only suggestions I have are: 1. Ensure that when appointments are made, all barbers are aware of the service that the appointment is booked for. This is to ensure that all resources are available as soon as the client walks in, and no services are forgotten. 2. Consider investing in a tablet when using Square (or similar devices) as your PoS system. They can be mounted like a cash register, are inexpensive (e.g. the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 can be purchased for $140 on amazon right now), give a more professional look, and lower the risk of screen cracking. 3. Have shop rules visible so patrons can act accordingly. read more

I went to Razored late on a Friday night in desperate need of a cut. The first barber I seen (Mel) had a client in his chair with a very nice line. I asked if he could cut me but he was booked for the evening. After he finished, I let him know I just got a hair cut from a barber and was not satisfied and really didn't want to get out on the scene with my lining the way it was. After talking for a while, he sympathized with me (after the shop was closed) and proceeded to fix my lining. I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. Just got back from getting my haircut at this place and I had the worst experience ever at this place. Usually i go get a haircut at a dominican barber shop but i thought of giving this shop a try since they have 4.7 stars. This guy named Juan doesnt know how to give a fade or a haircut in general. I showed him the picture and ASKED him if he knows how to do a combover and he said yes. I had to tell him every 5 minutes what to do and worst of all, i looked like complete idiot with a half assed fade. Now i have to go to a different barber to fix my haircut. I am never coming back to this place again On top of that their website says "first time customers get 3$ off", well apparently it doesnt apply on the weekends. Long story short, if you want a simple buzz cut then go over here and dont expect a professional haircut because they will give you an attitude, if you want a fancy haircut (with fade) then go elsewhere. read more

I went in for a simple side part haircut. Everything was going good until it was time to do the line on the side. So instead of putting the part between the long hair and the short hair, he put it about an inch down and made it go down the back of my head. It looks rediculous and I have no idea how a barber wouldn't know how to make a straight line. I ended up taking my son here for a haircut made a appointment and arrived at the barbershop. Worst mistake I could have made the men in the shop are so rude and a lot of times the haircuts end up coming out botched because they rush and the rude staff makes you feel very unwelcome and an uncomfortable as a woman I would not feel comfortable taking my young son here again. The guy in the first chair on the left is very very very rude so rude that I actually left the store and waited in my car for my 13 yr old son! Not to mention the location of the barbershop is very ghetto area of a run down shopping mall and After Dark might be dangerous! I've been coming to see Mel for about four years now. My first cut came when he was with another barber shop but he has since opened his own shop about a year or so ago. Although the drive is a little further for me, it's worth it because he has been on point each and every time when he cuts my hair. I've always walked out of his shop thoroughly impressed with my cut.
