I had a bad experience at a different nail salon in Rochester so I was skeptical. My sister said she liked going to this salon so I tried it out. I walked in with no appointment and was greeted right away. I didn't have to wait, someone was available. I got a dip manicure (first one) because I wanted to try something different other than gel. there were 4 of us with 12:30 appointments. We were called to come in an hour early. Sat with feet in cold water for over an hour. Two were worked on right away. Two of us sat with feet in the cold water during that time. When it was our turn, we felt like it was an imposition for them to do us. I have always had a good experience here, but not this time. I have gone to RC nails before and had Jenny do my nails. She did a great job and I was very happy with the results. This time I had a different tech and she did a poor job. She didn't get close to the edges or sides of my nails so it looks like they are growing out. Some of the tips have the polish on too thick. Not pleased with the results . Will not go back unless I can get an appointment with Jenny. Just wasted $30 on a gel manicure that looks like it is ready to be redone. read more

I went in with my daughter and good friend to get pedicures. Its not a fancy place but they did a great job, we were able to just walk in (we did call ahead a few minutes to make sure) and the people there were so friendly. I think that was the nicest thing. I am used to the technician not talking to me and/or chatting the entire time with the technician next to her. But they were chatty with our group, but not overly chatty. A few other people coming in were known by staff and greeted in a friendly way. I really liked that. They have a lot of colors to choose from and I saw one technician doing nail art that was amazing (I am for too basic for that style, but it seems like they have some real talent there). A lot needs updating inside, but the prices were reasonable, it seemed like the tools were clean and everyone was so friendly. Well let me explain why I'm giving one star. So Thursday 9/23 I call to ask when the stores least busy hours are for myself and my autistic brother. It can be hard for him to handle if there are too many people. The woman on the phone told me they do not do walk ins so I would have to make an appointment. I made an appointment for Friday 9/24 (one day later), she said they had no one coming in at noon and that it is always a slow time. I told her that there may be a chance I would have to cancel if my brother was having troubles the day of and asked if that it was still okay that I'm booking an appointment. She said that it was not a problem. Well today Friday comes and my brother is doing fine but we had been both exposed to Covid and did not realize it until the morning of Friday. I call and tell them right when I found out which was a little before 10:30 that I need to cancel my appointment. To which the woman replied, "Thanks for cancelling last minute" in a rude tone. Then she goes on to say, "Do you want to cancel both pedicures?". I said yes and tried to explain that my brother and I were exposed to Covid when she interrupts me mid sentence and says, "Yeah fine whatever" and hangs up on me. I hate giving bad reviews (this is my first ever negative review on yelp) but this was not okay. Obviously they do not take Covid seriously enough in this nail salon. read more

I came here for an acrylic set, and the nail artist took a ridiculous amount of time just to size each tip to my nails. She didn't do a good job shaping the nails, some are longer, and my nails are not all the same shape. She also left a glob on my nail, didn't try very hard to fix it, and just kept putting clear polish over it. I got dip powder done, which can take a little longer, but another artist finished 2 clients and started on a third by the time my artist starting finishing up on me. They also advertise they welcome walk-ins, but seem somewhat perturbed when you don't have an appointment. Overall, not the best experience and I'm not super happy with how my nails look. read more

I have been here several times and have been happy every time. Today, my visit was the best yet! I had a mani and a pedi and Kim took really good care of me, first with the pedi, she was very gentle and the message was incredible! Then, I had a mani with gel nails and she did an amazing job, especially with my cuticles. The gel polish was applied flawlessly. And the hand massage was awesome. I love that they have so many colors to choose from. Kim also made sure that I liked each of the colors before continuing. The whole staff was very friendly, but Kim was amazing! I went in to get a mani-pedi (just regular polish, no gel) and it looks like I painted my nails myself. There are chips, dents, and unevenly coated areas in my polish (which happened in the salon by the way) even though I waited 30+ minutes to dry and followed all instructions. Quality of paint job was not good, and I'm honestly not satisfied. I do not recommend RC Nails. read more
