Our yard is probably one of the most challenging yards you could imagine, set on a steep slope with a septic mound taking up the majority of the backyard which makes it difficult to do much with the space. We had recently purchased a new construction property and the seller (Justin Smith, The Homescout, LLC) bailed on the outdoor work before it was completed leaving us with a poorly built, unpermitted retaining wall and considerable grading and drainage issues. Littleton Earthworks came to the rescue and helped us mitigate many of the issues with creativity and thoughtfulness that we didn't see from the any of the other companies we spoke with. Dan from Earthworks proposed some great solutions and seemed to enjoy thinking through how to solve the problems at hand. The end result was so much better than we could have imagined and the regrading gave us a significant addition of usable space in the backyard. And, when we had a tropical storm come through the day after work was completed Dan came back with his crew to reseed and install an erosion control blanket for a nominal price, really going above and beyond. He uses vague language as to what exactly the scope of his work will cover. I tried multiple times, but failed to get him to spell out whether his price included what I had asked him to do. He throws in a "base price" at you for "what HE wants to do" but not what YOU asked him to do; then he wants to charge you extra for this and extra for that. Don't waste your time. Tree service companies are dime a dozen and there's no need to deal with unethical people.
