We went to this range because it was close. I have been stricken with a disease that makes it difficult to write with a thin pen to fill out the paperwork, and am confined to a medical scooter. They would not allow my assistant to do it for me. The counter person disappeared and returned with the owner. He said if you can't fill out the paperwork how can you shoot? I told him I shoot all the time. He looked at me like I had Leprosy and said he wasn't going to let me in. Just like that, no additional questions, no offer to check me out, nothing. There was only two other people shooting. Not going to argue we left. The shop itself is clean but very empty. The parking lot is sandy dirt with tree roots. As I remember the last time I was there the ventilation was good. Won't return, I'm not going where I'm not wanted. Not one to pull the handicapped card but I defiantly felt discriminated against. We went to a different range right after and had a great day shooting! This is not the gun community I grew up with. read more

This place is small and privately owned. Most gun guys are quiet so the reviews talking about negative customer service are missing the context. If you know what you are doing this is a great local range. Yes it is pistol only. Yes you may be next to a yahoo blasting away with china junk. But the regulars seem like good folks and for 20$ an hour, it's very reasonable. They have targets, ammo, and eye/ear protection. read more

I would give a zero if I could!. The attitude/yelling was unnecessary and could've been handled by reiterating calmly, "Take your bag to your lane and get ready, our rule is NO gun is outside of the lane unless it is in a bag!" So, what happened? I was putting my bags on the table and started taking stuff out, and this guy was visibly ANGRY, still visibly ANGRY, and had me step outside where he YELLED and chastised me for opening the bags and having the guns on that table. NASTY and YELLING with a LOUD, HARSH tone. He SHOUTED at me, saying I wasn't listening, and he would throw me out if I did that again! I understand the seriousness of the rules, but they must work on people skills!!! You don't YELL at your customers if you want them to return (which I will not). This is the first time I've seen this guy there. The other employees have been great and friendly. This guy does not have a good way to ask people to follow the rules. I recognize I made a mistake; he was just really unprofessional. read more

There isn't that much to do in Ocala, but firing a gun in the woods or finding a great indoor range to go target shooting are some things you actually can do with ease. I've been to RD 4 years ago and the place still remains well maintained and well kept. Inside you'll find 12 lanes separated by bulletproof glass; every lane has a digital box that will electronically send or retrieve your target with absolute precision to the tenth of an inch. Rates to use the range are quite affordable; $16.00 for the first person, $8.00 for the second person or thereafter. Eyes and ears are extra but for a dollar for each I believe. Since I wore my own glasses, I believed I didn't need to rent eyes, but if your frames don't have a certification (ANSI Z87) for target practicing with small arms, you'll need to rent them; I'm glad I needed the protection since during my session, the brass came at my glasses hard and without protection would have taken a gash out of my new glasses. Prior to entering the range, you'll need to watch a 4 minute video that goes through their rules and regulations which basically outlines how to handle your firearm when inside the store, or in the range area. FYI...my uncle works for the Sheriff Department in the Ocala area and he's told me that inside the Ocala National Forest, you can go outdoor target practicing there too, but beware...it's full of rednecks that will fire down range when you're trying to retrieve your target...lmao sounds like a good 'ol time! But for a great time, with well A/C and ventilation shooting range, I highly recommend this range. read more

Bring your own ammo. Bring cash as some items are cash only. Can't shoot ARs so leave them at home. Also ,can't shoot 30 caliber pistol rounds here either. It's clean , safe and the gentleman at the counter was polite and professional. So all in all OK place to shoot pistols but call before you go to see what calibers you are allowed to shoot. read more

horrible lighting in the range, range area is filthy, parking is a joke, it's the only indoor range in Ocala.

I've been using this range for many years. I've always found the staff to be fine. I sign in, shoot, then pay them the money. Staff has never interfered with my shooting in any way. At check-in and check-out, staff are friendly and efficient. It's a pleasant place to shoot. After shooting, there are short-handled brooms and dustpans for sweeping up brass from the carpet when you're finished shooting. I don't find the supplied tools to be senior citizen friendly. Please upgrade your tools. Stout, full-sized cleanup tools. Don't make me crouch to clean up brass. If you ever redecorate, please reconsider carpet for your range, tile or linoleum would make brass cleanup easier. read more

My husband and I found a couple years back. Now that he's passed, I still drive from Beverly Hills to shoot. Facility (indoor which I prefer) is safe and folks are very knowledgeable, honest and helpful. You can't ask for better hours than RD either. And now I hope to hear they'll clean guns as that's my one hold back from shooting more often....I can't clean my own guns. read more

Only indoor range in town and I go nearly every week. Frank and Hunter are nice and always friendly. That being said. Range is fairly clean but is used hard and shows wear. Lighting in shooting stalls could be better. In fact, there needs to be some. If you have a dark target, the lack of stall lighting makes seeing dark pistol sights nearly impossible. HVAC system is strange. Never experienced blazing heat and freezing cold coming out of a system at the same time. Even with these gigs, I still enjoy shooting at this range and will continue to be a member. read more
