Check in process is pretty easy and the price isn't bad. Could use some more bays - they do tend to get busy on the weekends. They rely on shooters communicating with each other to turn the rifle range cold - which can be intimidating for a novice shooter. Also, there should be some sort of number system for the next available shooting bay. Having to stake out a bay and hope no one cuts in line can be frustrating.

Great range for outdoors shooting. Very well organized Professional staff and help. 12 bays for range shoot with handguns. Separate areas for handguns , shotguns and rifles. There is target shooting with paper targets and also metal targets. Very well maintained ranges. $20.00 fee which is great as there is no time restrictions on your day. We started off at the handgun range and worked out way over to a separate area for shotguns and rifles for the last hour of training. Covered areas, desk platforms for reloading with chairs.

Best range in Florida and the only one I've been at with metal targeted already up to use.

I've been here a bunch, and it never disappoints. It's such a fun and pretty spot for target practice. Check it out!

This was my first visit to an outdoor range in the St. Augustine area. I came here with a small group of friends who wanted to practice with their new pistols and rifles. This range has a great location. It is a few miles north of downtown St. Augustine and is nicely secluded in the woods. The property was very well kept and clean, and there was plenty of parking. One thing I really liked about this range is how it separated different areas for shooting. There were several bays located closer to the front for short range shooting, in the back there are several bays for long range shooting and on a different side, a place to shoot sporting clays. You also had the option to shoot at paper or metal targets. However, if you prefer paper, make sure to bring some of your own! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It took only a few minutes to sign-up and pay the $20 fee for the day. I will definitely be back to this range!

After adjustments were made it's safe to say I had some very nice groupings Wait until I feed these girls some match grade ammo!

GunDay = FunDay I decided to head out to Saltwater Shooting Club to try out this outdoor gun range for my weekend birthday celebration. Very thankful I did! This range has something for everyone. The range fee is $20 per person (with no time limit) for the Pistol/Riffle range. They do have yearly memberships available as well. They sell ammo at a responsible market price. They also have a selection of targets and shooting supplies that you may need. They have different ranges available for different distances all the way out to 700 yards (with qualification required). Shotgun skeet shooting is also available even archery! They have numerous range officers available to answer any questions and keep the range functioning in a safe manner. I was particularly impressed with their professionalism when I needed help adjusting my optics on all four of my rifles I brought with me. Customer service ALWAYS goes a long way with any business. They offer classes for first timers as well as conceal carry classes. A Refreshments stand is also available. I think I've definitely found my "Go To" outdoor range moving forward! Try something new and fun! Pew pew life is LIFE for me!

Solid place to shoot. No time limit, good community, and decent bays. Only wish it was bigger!

What they provide is steel to shoot, which is incredibly fun, especially the falling plates.

Did the course as a family and we all had a blast! We all learned something new after taking the class. Jon is incredibly patient with novices and very passionate and knowledgeable about teaching gun safety, marksmanship and explaining all the various options when it comes to purchasing a personal weapon and ammo. Highly recommend The Compassionate Gunner if you are looking to get your ccw or want to improve your marksmanship skills.

Since then, I've spent immeasurable amounts of time handling, discussing, training and shooting firearms of all kinds. I have a very diverse background, I served our country honorably in the United States Army, and have worked in Customer Relations, Law Enforcement/Security, Construction Management, Marine and Aviation industries. However, firearms have always been my Passion. One day, while purchasing a firearm, I overhear a family trying to purchase their first firearm. The husband & wife asking the clerk questions, their pre-teen daughter bouncing around excitedly with the prospect of the newest family acquisition. The clerk was being patient with each new question but was becoming exhausted. I had Compassion for both parties. I realized then; people might need a Compassionate Gunner to help educate and guide them through the journey of firearm ownership.
