I've heard a lot of horror stories with friends getting renovations and facing many bumps in the road and contractors leaving them in the dark about timelines or pricing. S&E, the entire team, are very professional, helpful, and honest. I appreciate all the work they did, they are experienced and when we did hit any bumps in the road they were knowledgeable and had solutions. You can tell this is not their first rodeo. They did not drag their feet and delay things, problems were solved quickly and I appreciated that. They follow through on what they say they are going to do and did not leave my family hanging or in the dark. I will definitely use them for future work and recommend them highly. Sunnyside Construction went above and beyond our expectations. We have had Sunnyside come back to work on our house every 3 years as we work through our home-improvement wish list. Having found a great contractor in Sunnyside, we are going to be loyal to them for as long as we are homeowners. They show up on time and got the work done according to schedule. The final bill was right in line with their estimate. We were kept advised of any issues when they came up. They clearly explained the issues and what our options were...we never felt like we were being upsold on more work. The quality of their work is very impressive. We have had them redo our flooring, completely redo our bathroom (expanded size of bathroom, moved bathroom door, tile flooring, converted a tub into a walk in shower, etc), remodel our living room (removal of a wall), replace windows, level our crawlspace, install a French drain, landscape our back yard, build a pergola, etc. All of these projects came out better than our expectations. Even though there were a myriad of additional "small" details that took care of. His team was on time, worked hard, and could not be more professional. I have to say, they were BY FAR the tidiest construction crew we have ever seen. Throughout the renovation project, they kept the house as clean as possible. David has a knack for detail. During our walkthrough before construstion, he was able to visualize what would work down to the inch. I was concerned we wouldn't have enough room to place the fridge where we wanted it. Not to worry- his experience came through and everything was spot on. Their team does not let small issues go unresolved. Even when it wasn't assigned to him. He found rusty pipes while working on the electric. He brought it to our attention and took care of it without question. I can only imagine how big the repair bill would eventually be if he did catch it. I've attached the before (grey floor) and after (blond floor) to show off his team's talent. His team: 1. Knocked out a load-bearing wall and added beam to open up the living room into the kitchen/dining. 2. Redid the floors. 3. Redid the bathroom (expanded bathroom by incorporating closet from second bedroom, created walk-in shower, added dual vanity, tiled floors) 4. Replaced windows in master bed and bathroom 5. Lots of rewiring and adding outlets 6. Painted entire house, including garage 7. Uncounted "minor" details that improved the lifetime value of the home Could not be happier. Cuong is the best, seriously: very reasonable pricing, extremely hard-working, honest, dependable, fair - I didn't realize contractors like this exist. I almost made a huge mistake and passed on Cuong originally because it didn't seem like he could deliver on what he quoted (he was so much more reasonable than other contractors), and he is very unassuming: quiet, no pressure, fast and easy - - so I thought there must be something off. Man, am I glad that about a year later when we circled back on our ADU remodel, Cuong was still willing to work with us (even when other contractors we originally consulted with bailed, or didn't even have the courtesy to respond). Again, he was so nonchalant about his ability to do the work that I had my doubts, but he immediately proved us wrong - to say the least. Cuong got to work right away. In the space of just a couple months he transformed our ADU from a dated and ugly, unusable space, into an amazing little home, which we furnished and rent now. I was (and am) incredibly impressed by Cuong. He is not someone you need to press to do the right thing. He is independently motivated to do the job the right way, and to work efficiently. He would ask to work weekends just to stay on schedule; he would pick up materials for us; and he was flexible and available when we needed him. *Note that the only thing he doesn't really do is design. He will consult on small things, like where to put outlets, or how a door should open, but I would not expect him to design and build. Provided you have your design and vision though, the man can execute. It is a pleasure to write this review and to share our experience, and I think our results speak for themselves (which I've posted before and after photos of). I wish Cuong and NCC all the best; although I'm sure we'll be seeing them soon on some of our many projects :)
