Mike and his family are fantastic! I dropped off my 20+ year old mountain bike that was not shifting well, not braking well, making lots of noise and had a rear wheel that was far from round. I asked him to make it like new, and he did! It is like a brand new bike, shifting so smoothly. He even rebuilt my old white industries hub finding new bearings while rebuilding the rear wheel. They are very accommodating and friendly. Their shop is like bike shops used to be: something for everyone, good service, not pretentious! Looking for a neighborhood bicycle shop with friendly and helpful staff? Bingo. You hit the jackpot. I am a new rider and was looking for some help with a pedal issue and I stopped by here. The staff had already locked the doors and were walking out and in their vehicles...but they saw me and opened the shop back up and helped me with a smile on their face. These people fixed me up in 10 minutes and had me back on the road with my problem fixed for $30. Since I am so new, I can't really comment on the selection or quality, but the shop had lots of used equipment for sale from what I could see, and their prices seemed very reasonable. The staff and owner here are all incredibly helpful and friendly, and I would recommend this to any rider in my position! read more

Love this business model and the crew. As a novice biker just getting into riding (as years of running is starting to take a tole on the knees) I didn't want to spend $1000+ on a bike - I'm not there yet. Although this shop does have some high end bikes, the variety of used bikes ppl have traded in when upgrading or just decided to sell was a perfect option for me. I fell in LOVE w the used bike they recommended AND they have a 2year tune up plan you can add on for next to nothing-which is a no brainer since I'm still learning about bike maintenance. The staff is SO knowledge about anything and everything cycling and enthusiastic along w me about me getting into riding. They really listened to what I was looking for and why to help me find the perfect bike. Riding before was so hard and not enjoyable because of the bike I had before. Now it's fun, I can keep up with my more experienced group of riders w less effort, allowing me to add on the miles. Tips: Closed on Mondays. The people here take the time to talk to you about your bike needs. We took our bikes, which had not been ridden for 7 years, in for an inspection and adjustments. They did a great job of telling us what was needed for both bikes. Not being sure we wanted to fix the bike that was 25 years old, they took the time to show me the two used bikes they thought might work for me. They had a lot of bikes there, but only suggested the two based on our conversations. We decided to repair our current bikes. The bikes were done when promised with one requiring more work then anticipated, but they called and explained the additional work needed and the associated costs. Great shop right off center. I've been using this place for years to keep my commuter single speed in top shape. The staff are super friendly, inviting, and willing to share their knowledge of bikes. Parts can be bought new or used here and they have an awesome assortment of bikes to buy for young and old. This place has a personal touch to it and I always feel welcomed when I walk in. BEST BIKE SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! I've been looking for a bike for a while now and found the process kind of intimidating. I'm not a huge cyclist and I know very little about bikes. However, I was in need of a new mode of transportation. I looked at quite a few other bike shops in the Omaha area and was blown away with the knowledge and service that Re-CYCLE Bike Shop offered. The staff was very patient and allowed me to try out a variety of different bikes. They answered all my questions and even gave me some great recommendations for where to ride in Omaha as well as the appropriate gear I would need. This place is super legit! Bonus points for being a local shop as well!!! I got a BMX bike from them about 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. My bike came with 1 year of free maintenance and labor... They even allow you to buy parts elsewhere and they'll install them on your bike for free. This is unheard of for ANY of the other bike shops in town. I stopped in today to have them swap my stock tires with some after market ones, and 15 minutes later I was walking out of the shop with the work done and a smile on my face. They are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to all things bikes. I was torn between a few models when I was searching, and the staff helped me narrow down what I needed. Super friendly. Super fast. Saw me for a repair INSTANTLY. Went in with a bike I had just picked up on Craigslist. No chain. Flat tires. Old Grandma seat with the big chrome springs. Ugh. Re-cycle had a great, sleek seat (used) for a great price. They put a brand new chain on it and even adjusted/cleaned the shifter as well as the derailleur. They pumped up my tires, mounted the new seat, AND clipped an old lock cable off of it. They didn't charge for air, for the thingy they put on the bottom of the seat to attach it to the post, and they didn't charge for cleaning and adjusting the bike's shifting... Maybe they worked it in to the cost/labor for the chain ($25), but that's still a steal. They've got a new loyal customer in me. read more

Awesome family run local bike shop with great prices and service. Everyone is very knowledgeable, helpful and do their best to get you back on your bike as soon as possible. They currently stock new BMX, Giant and KHS bikes as well as lots of custom and used bikes. Services are great value and they have a good stock of rare/used parts, ideal for fixing up older bikes. They have a lot of expertise in many areas , especially vintage BMX and BMX racing. The shop does accept donated bikes if you are looking to make some space (by the fence at the back) and can purchase/give credit for higher end bikes in good condition. They perform flat repairs quickly and are happy to give out free advice. Overall a great addition to the Omaha bike shop family. read more

I will continue the 5 star reviews for this local bike shop. My daughter and I stopped in to pick up a couple tubes for my mountain bike (an older one). This place also accepts donated bikes so we packed up a couple smaller bikes my daughter had outgrown. They will either fix them up and sell them (they carry new and used bikes), or use the parts. The place was well stocked offering up new bikes and parts, along with used bikes and some nice used parts bins to pick through. It is a clean store and the guys were very helpful. You could tell they were serious about bikes, but didn't have that snobby air about them like I have seen at other shops. We had a nice conversation and they went out of their way to be helpful. Next time I need something for our bikes, I will be back! read more

Fabulous shop. I went in with a worn out ten speed. I left 30 minutes later with two new tires, new rear cassette (gears), new chain, and everything adjusted. If it were close to home it would be the only shop in Omaha I would go to, however it is not so I regularly visit a couple of others, where I often feel they oversell repairs or other supplies that may not be needed. Do NOT go to this bike shop!!! I recently received HORRIBLE service there. My bike had a flat tire. The shop claimed to have fixed the flat tire but they failed to replace the rim strip which was causing the flat tire. Consequently, by the time I rode the bike home, I had another flat tire. I called the shop on two separate occasions to express my concern about their service. Both managers where incredibly rude and smug regarding the problem. They claimed that I caused the flat tire (which another bike shop confirmed I had not done. In fact, the other bike shop referred to the services I had received at Re-cycle Bike Shop as questionable at best) I asked to have the owner, Mike, give me a call. He did not call me for two weeks. I then called the shop again and requested to speak to the owner. When he got on the phone, I asked if he had received my messages. He said that he had received my two messages to call me, but that he "was really busy." What??? He then said that he could not find the receipts to confirm the services that his shop had provided because a secretary took care of his paperwork. What??? Then after describing in detail my concerns regarding both the horrible bike service AND rude employees, he told me that he could not talk to me since I did not speak of his employes with respect and hung up on me. Hmmmm. Great service, Mike! In short, do NOT got to this bike shop. The services are questionable and the employees are a bunch of smug jerks. read more
