There are a few great biking stores in Omaha, and Bike Rack is one of them. They have a large showroom that holds a varied inventory of bikes, and just about every and any biking accessory that's necessary. Additionally, the staff here is great, knowledgable and happy to let you test the bikes or ask questions. In the back, they do tune up and repairs, with a fast turn over rate thanks to a large workroom with the right equipment and lots of staff. It mainly seems like they sell Trek bikes here, and a solid women's or men's bike will be 300+ including any sale or seasonal markdown. I got my bike here, and have been extremely pleased with the ride. If you're looking to upgrade to a non department store bike, this is your shop.

We were looking for something used for him because I already have a bike and hate going alone. We have been to The Bike Rack before and knew that it had a selection of new bikes which was not exactly what we were looking for. It was the last stop at the end of our long day and we were in the neighborhood and thought we would just check it out. Our salesman, Brian, was so friendly and knowledgeable. He could tell right away that we weren't really in the market for a high-end bike, but continued to help us despite the fact that we were probably going to just look around and head home. He answered our questions and we cracked jokes back and forth. He then suggested that my boyfriend take out one of the bikes, just to get a feel for it. He found the right size and tried out a couple before finding one that was still way nicer than what we going to buy, but one of the more modestly priced bikes in the store. My boyfriend talked about how awesome it was when he took it out and seemed to be extremely happy with the way it rode. I then had to see for myself. If it was that awesome, I wanted to try it out. Brian helped me find the right size bike and put me on a Trek 7.3. I took it out down the sidewalk and was really really impressed. The bike really spoke for itself. It was a million times better than my rusty old high school bike I had at home. We went out down the side walk together and came back to the store with giant smiles on our faces. We left yesterday with two Trek 7.2 bikes. It was completely unexpected but so worth the money. We would have probably not purchased those two bikes without the wonderful service from Brian. He really did a great job without pressuring us at all. If anything, he made us excited to get out there. We have already been out riding twice and love our bikes. It was an awesome purchase and we are very happy.

You could take ORBT but that puts you on the wrong side of Dodge and at least two blocks from all the bars and restaurants. You'll be there in about ten to 25 minutes. You could rent a scooter and pay about the same. You'll get there in about the same time, but you'll feel like you've been breaking up concrete all day by the time you get there. The fourth option is riding a Heartland Ebike. You pay $20 per MONTH for a pass, which gives you UNLIMITED one hour rides. That's an insane deal IMO. The bikes are well maintained and easy to ride. They fly right up the long hill so you'll arrive feeling refreshed, not worn out and sweaty like if you rode a regular bike. You can take the bikeway most of the way so you won't have to worry about getting run over, and you don't have to worry about someone stealing it, there's a dock right in Blackstone. The best part is you'll get there in less time than any of the other methods, and you'll have fun getting there. Just download the BCycle app and buy a pass so you're ready to unlock a bike when you decide to make your first trip. I took one ride was totally sold, those bikes are a blast.
