When the quote came around, the owner suggested hundreds of dollars in repairs. I gritted my teeth and agreed to it, hoping it would be worth it for our 430-mile bike ride ahead of us. It was not. The owner refused to give us a time he could do the repairs, even though we needed to be in Des Moines the next day, saying he would get it done "right away." We had to go to the shop twice the next day since he never called us as he promised to. When we finally collected the bikes, it was closing time for the shop and raining outside, so we couldn't take a test ride. When I finally got the bike on the road, I found he had botched the gears, reducing the functionality so only the bottom gears worked. I ended up having to do a week of biking across Iowa on low gears. Save yourself a headache and do not trust this shop with your bike.

I asked him to make it like new, and he did! It is like a brand new bike, shifting so smoothly. He even rebuilt my old white industries hub finding new bearings while rebuilding the rear wheel. They are very accommodating and friendly. Their shop is like bike shops used to be: something for everyone, good service, not pretentious! Very refreshing compared to the corporate bike shops filled with bikes that cost thousands of dollars.

Interested in an eBike after renting one in Lake Havasu, I checked out the Trek store, Bike Masters…read more& Bike Rack but didn't find the right fit. I'm 5'5", which in the world of bikes puts me between between 24 & 26" wheel and usually a small frame, but at my height that can vary too. I have a 10 year old Cannondale & a 31 yr old Specialized Hard Rock but after a work injury, I struggled to throw my leg over lean on my hands. The Pedego team spent hours with me first learning to get comfortable with the heavier and then helping me find the perfect fit, a white Pedego Commuter which allows me to sit upright and travel 70 miles on one charge. I am elated w my purchase. Do to the nature of my injuries I remain leery of long rides as they involve issues with cervical neuropathy & radicular pain. The City Commuter allows a variety of sitting & leaning positions with the handle bars, promising the most comfortable ride. If I am too far from home and pain sets in. I can use power assist or the throttle to get me home quickly and safely.
