When the quote came around, the owner suggested hundreds of dollars in repairs. I gritted my teeth and agreed to it, hoping it would be worth it for our 430-mile bike ride ahead of us. It was not. The owner refused to give us a time he could do the repairs, even though we needed to be in Des Moines the next day, saying he would get it done "right away." We had to go to the shop twice the next day since he never called us as he promised to. When we finally collected the bikes, it was closing time for the shop and raining outside, so we couldn't take a test ride. When I finally got the bike on the road, I found he had botched the gears, reducing the functionality so only the bottom gears worked. I ended up having to do a week of biking across Iowa on low gears. Save yourself a headache and do not trust this shop with your bike.

I went in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted, Todd kept asking questions and understanding my needs and found the perfect bike for me. I shopped one of the big shops in Omaha and they showed me exactly what I asked to look at, but didn't take the time to probe and discover was I searching for the "right" bike. Todd showed me what I asked for, but continued the conversation and suggested a style I didn't know existed, which was the perfect fit. The "small town" shop taking time to get to know the customer and their needs saved me from purchasing a bike that would not have been the "perfect" bike. I asked him to make it like new, and he did! It is like a brand new bike, shifting so smoothly. He even rebuilt my old white industries hub finding new bearings while rebuilding the rear wheel. They are very accommodating and friendly. Their shop is like bike shops used to be: something for everyone, good service, not pretentious! Very refreshing compared to the corporate bike shops filled with bikes that cost thousands of dollars.

I had dropped off my wheels with a brand new set of tubeless winter tires (under 30 miles) and when I picked them up they had thrown them away. They were surprised that I wanted them & I was told I should have notified them I wanted to keep them. I worked in many bike shops, and we've always kept customer's parts that were to be replaced, especially if they were in good shape & of good quality. I'm very disappointed and it cost me about $100-150 in damages as I will need to buy new winter tires next season.
