All of the team members were amazing! We would highly recommend working with Connie, Amber, and Andrew. They made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we are happy. Our home is beautiful and made with good quality material compared to many of the other new builds we looked at. Even our private inspector was impressed by the quality of the build. They have been super responsive to any warranty requests, the paver stone driveway sunk a bit and they fixed it within a few days, we also had a wire get bought in the garage door and it was also fixed within a few days. A lot of the reviews I see here are from a long time ago and I felt the need to provide an update as they are amazing. I would highly recommend working with Oakwood in Colorado.

It's been a little over a month since I closed on my home. This past Saturday, the pan below the…read morefurnace started overflowing with water and the condensation drain is not draining. This has also entered the furnace housing below the blower. This issue was brought up during our demo walk prior to our final closing walkthrough and we were told that it will be taken care of but from the look of things, it is still an issue. I reached out to the community warranty rep on Sat, he came over and said that the water will evaporate and the HVAC installer was going to reach out to me on Monday. Instead of the water evaporating, it started to overflow. After not hearing from anyone, I bought a wet vacuum to take out the water and ended up taking out 10.5 gallons of water (7*1.5 galloon). I also submitted a warranty request. Today is Tuesday, and the water has started filling back up. Still, no one has reached out to me. I need this resolved ASAP. The longer it takes to get this resolved, the likelihood that my furnace will be damaged and will need to be replaced in its entirety. Since I closed on my home, everything has been falling apart, my other warranty claim for a plumber has not been responded to. I keep getting told that someone will call me. However, I submitted that claim on Sept 23rd. I saw the plumbing company's van across the street working on one of the new construction. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

Buyers, beware - Oakwood only cares about money. STAY AWAY! They do NOT care about the buyer…read more Oakwood builder is full of lies, full of fake promises on things they CANT and WONT deliver! Worst builder! Everything they have you sign only has their best interest, not you. They don't care that you have to spend thousands on storage, short term leases..etc because they keep delaying the building process. Buying a home should be a happy/exciting process and this has been the WORST most stressful time for myself and family. Don't believe the staff when they say your build will be done in 7-9 months. They'll say anything to get you to sign and give the earnest money. Not only that but they're never available to take your calls, take forever to respond to emails and can never give a clear answer on updates. Or just outright ignore you. They will not return your earnest money even when they've failed to deliver, wasted your time and affect your mental well being. They always have an excuse for everything and will not prioritize you as a customer because they don't care. I am happy to answer anyone who has questions. I have sent my termination notice with this HORRIBLE company almost a month ago and have yet to get any termination agreement.

In exchange they paid for some closing cost but also said they would pay for landscaping and told us it would be done in the beginning of April. It's now just about may and we have no yard still. They won't fix the problem or get back to me. Go somewhere else for a new home. Also our pipes froze three times because they forgot to put insulation in the walls.

Come to find out my real estate agent could have helped me see what I didn't know too. I didn't know what I didn't know. Examples of my discontent: 1) I wasnt told the assessment fees would go up 50.00 a month 3 months after I moved in. Come to find out this was in the works well before I bought the home. I was hit off gaurd when the monthly assessment fee went up 50.00. 2) I was told that I would be able to get warranty work fixed with in my warranty period of 1 year. When ever I called the warrenty people to fix something, they would tell me that it was normal and would fight me about getting anything done. They told me that a 1/4 inch gap between the floor and the base boards was completely with in normal limits. I ended up sealing it my self. 3) I had an inspecter look at my roof and he suggested that I have them look at the roof as there were nails coming out, and excessive ware and tear on a 1 year old roof. There was a lot of granuals that have washed off the roof into the gutters. There is 2 inches of granuals in my gutter and they said that was normal. So I am going to have to have that cleaned and I havnt even lives here a year yet. If you look for a new home, and you are researching builders, see if the builder will only do what they have to do, or will they build a good quality home? I had to fight for everything. Look at the reviews and pay close attention at the ones that are critical. How did the builder respond to negative reviews? Use your judgement. If it sounds like BS... go with your gut.
