We rented a property with this company while stationed at Bragg. We were tenants from Nov 2014 -May 2018 (when the homeowner ended his contract with the company). The homeowner moved his business to another company who was just as bad and subsequently employs a property manager who used to work for Remax. This is a horrible property management company. In the almost 4 years that we were living in the property REMAX came to inspect once. ONCE!! Service repairs were never handled timely. And when they were handled it was half done. Leaks not addressed, water stains not addressed, hurricane damage not addressed. We went months without air. But they gladly collected our rent check. Rude and poor property management skills. Nonexistent communication, lack of care and concern for the tenant or homeowner is why I wouldn't recommend this company. If I could give negative stars I would. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service, horrible communication, horrible repair turn around time. Every single repair we have requested has had at a MINIMUM a three month wait. Ridiculous. And what is even worse, the repairs stemmed from issues that were not fixed before we rented the property itself. The house was a mess when we moved in. Old lawn furniture, trash, etc. They definitely don't have the landlords best interest at heart as it was obvious a move out inspection was not performed. Usually Remax is a respectable agency but this one in particular is just garbage. Our agent is lazy and doesn't answer questions directly. It seems once the property is rented, they could care less. Horrible customer service. I needed a home quickly, no communication. DONT GO THROUGH THEM. They will not tell you when someone else has also applied. They will happily take your $50 application fee and jerk you around for a couple days, maybe a weekend if they feel like. Honestly there is no management, so you're on your own when talking to any of these people, and good luck at that much, because no one returns phone calls. The last two properties we rented through Remax and their agents have caused us a great deal of trouble. My husband and I just moved out of the last house due to a psc. Whenever repairs are needed it takes days for them to respond, no one will do a walk thru with you. They are so quick to move you in do not even have the house cleaned. We had to request the house be properly cleaned at least twice! The agents are so rude and lazy there is no getting in touch with them. After a few emails and texts we finally got through to request they send information about our security deposit which we had moved out already a month and a half ago! My husband and I were moved to Ft. Bragg in 2012. We searched for a rental in an area that was close for both of us to commute to work. We found a rental home that Rusty was an agent for. Upon inquiring about the property, Rusty replied that he was not available for showing, but that his wife would meet us at the property for a walk through. His wife (very nice lady) met us at the home and showed us around. She did not know many details about the property since she, herself, wasn't the agent. In a hurry to find somewhere to live, my husband and I decided to sign the lease for the property. When the time came to sign the lease, Rusty, again, was not available. His assistant at ReMax went over the lease with us for signing. She, also, did not know all of the details and could not answer all of the questions we had, as he may have been able to do. During the summer, we found out that our A/C was not working, which is considered "Emergency Maintenance." We contacted ReMax right away and was told that Rusty would handle sending someone out to fix it. We went TEN days without air conditioning in 90+ degree weather. When I contacted him directly, he said "Yeah, well I'm dealing with about eight other people in front of you... we're doing the best we can." After a company finally came out to look at our A/C, they told us they had to get approval before they could fix it. Another FIVE days pass, the A/C people contact us again and say that the owner of the home could not afford to fix the A/C, but only do a temporary fix with recharging and chemicals. The A/C was never completely fixed. Some months later, Rusty contacted my husband. This was the first time Rusty had EVER spoken to us, other than telling us that we were "on his list" to help. He told us that the owner of the home wanted to move back in as soon as possible. We gladly started searching for new places. We found a much nicer home in a better neighborhood (with a different company). Once we told Rusty we were ready to move, he instructed us that we would have to set up a move-out inspection on a date and time that was convenient for him. We set it up for a weekday at lunch time, since both my husband and I work. Rusty was 30 minutes late for the inspection. Although the house was MUCH cleaner than when we moved in, he commented on several things that were not "up to par." He did not have our move-in inspection sheets with him to check against the issues, only a blank notepad. It ended up with us moving out, the owner moving back in, and my husband and I getting a letter in the mail this week stating that we "OWE" ReMax money, even after taking our entire deposit. In closing, we had to deal with Rusty's attitude and non-attentiveness, as well as cater to the owner's unwillingness to fix things, and moving out before our lease ended. And now, we owe them more money. Maybe Rusty is trying to juggle so many things at one time that he cannot show enough RESPECT and care for his rental tenants. Either way, my husband and I will NEVER deal with ReMax again, especially Rusty. read more

If I were able to, this company would receive less than one star. When we bought a house a few months short of our lease ending, they refused to even list it. The person in charge even had me and my two young children pick weeds out of the driveway with the implication that it lacked curb appeal and I would somehow have to pay otherwise. I did it. At the end I paid every month on time. It's the right thing to do. I was in anticipation of having my deposit back. A deposit that was refused as a last month's rent. Now they say they need to take more money because the owner is unhappy with the status of one wall. After two walk throughs. Never again. read more

Rented through Remax for a year, and could not get out of there fast enough. They are slow at communicating back to you. And will blame you for everything. We paid our rent before it was due every month, and let them know of any thing that was broken or damaged and it would take at least a month to get anything fixed. And when someone would come out to fix it, it never actually got fixed. I understand that the owner choices if to replace or fix, but remax would not reply to me. This real estate service company is horrible with customer service! The property manager Cynthia Outen is horrible and has a rude and nasty attitude. I applied for a home with her and she processed my application. I have great credit. She pulled a very general county inquiry on my name and 10 of the same names populated. Those other individuals had delinquent inquires attached to them, however none of them was me. I explained this to the rude property manager and she completely ignored what I was trying to tell her. None of those names were attached to my individual ssn# or dob. So how can you deny an application based on a general search with 10 of the same names? That is ludicrous! She told me that I was trying to get over and she didn't have time to go through this with me. She defamed my character prematurely with the homeowners and told them about the denied application that was processed incorrectly and generic on her behalf. She is an uppity and disrespectful agent. Her broker in charge Soni Rider wasn't too much better either. I could care less about the home, now it is just the principle of the matter. I am so glad this happened so I wouldn't have to deal with her or Remax Choice later! Do not rent from this horrible real estate service provider!!! read more

We have been tenants at a property managed by Remax for two years now. Our property manager, Mickey Phillips, has been nothing but unhelpful. The communication with him is nonexistent. He never answers our calls and it usually takes him at least 48 hours to respond and that's only after a call, text, AND an email. In most cases it took so long to contact him we just gave up. This is coming to bite us in the butt as we move out as now he is claiming we need to fix all these issues that he never responded to us on previously. He keeps changing his mind with the move out form and revising it to the homeowners wants. We feel like we are being taken advantage of so that the homeowner can do the renovation she wants...on our dime!! I do not recommend Mickey and thus Remax at all. Take your business elsewhere. It's well worth it to avoid the headache this company will surely cause you!! read more
