The tenants are taking care of the building inside and out as there is no interest in doing so and no response when garbage is strewn all over the alley. So, the tenants take care of the mess. Light bulbs are burned out in hallways for months, washers are 30+ years old and don't work with no intent of replacement, general cleaning of the common areas is done once a month, if that, IF anything breaks or is damaged, the manager doesn't show up but asks the tenants to let the service people in the building or to give them the code for the keys from the lock box - never mind showing up to be in your suite or in the building while there is someone in your suite. In the first year of managing our building, numerous cheques were lost with no explanation as to what happened or why they disappeared. I'm not exactly sure what the owner is paying them for because really, they do nothing and when you try to talk to someone, they are very abusive and confrontational.
