Granted this isn't your swanky corporate restaurant but it is charming. Down home style here partner. Rub elbows with the local working class heroes. Service is quick and friendly. Granted it can get loud around beer thirty. Their broasted chicken is better than any fried chicken joint by KFC or Popeyes. The sausage sammich is par excellence. Every burger is made like you want it to be. The manager Chris is kind, helpful and delightful if you need assistance of any kind. Great atmosphere and people. I'll never come back! I didn't care for it before either. The waitress was rude. My family knows of her attitude. I wasn't putting up with it. Her tables were dirty! Absolutely dirty! WOW! The burgers here may be my new all time favorite! On top of that, Fritz made our experience like no other. This guy is a hoot! The drinks were great and reasonably priced, the food was, like I said, 100/10. This restaurant is awesome! The food is great, they have good prices and such a friendly staff. The environment is always nice. Feels like a family vibe. The band night is very loud but other than that they do a great job. When there isn't a band the music is good. Stopped to get a bite shortly after 6 pm. Busy but not crowded. Waitress took our drink order and when she returned we each ordered cheeseburgers and fries. Fifty minutes later no food and the waitress didn't check on us for fourty minutes. Three other tables came in after us and received their meals. Paid our drink tab and left. Lost my business. Everything on the menu is very good. Boaster Chicken is Awesome, Pizza Bread is also awesome. Casey is the owner and wonderful to great anyone. Prices are very fair, draft beer prices are very good. So yes the parking lot needs paved and the outside is not what you should judge this place on. Inside was just redone in the spring and service and kitchen all work hard. I go here 2-3 times a week and always enjoy the food and drink. read more

First time guest and would come again! Called ahead because of the outdoor seating. Told that dogs welcome if on leash. The patio was not completely covered but had several umbrellas. We sampled the Poppers - good but watch out for the HOT cream cheese - jalapeños not too spicy. The real hit was the grilled vegetables that were our choice of a side to the Pollack. The texture was crisp outside but firm on the inside. The only drawback for me was all the fish was fried - not my usual choice. read more

Haven't been here in a few years as it used to be a smoking establishment, but decided to stop in with a friend to grab a sandwich and a beer to catch up. I ordered an Italian meatball sandwich. It was literally 2 meatballs sliced in two and placed on bread with sauce and cheese. Skimpy in my opinion for $7.95. Fries are an extra $2.95. Basically I paid $11 for an average sandwich. More bread than meatballs. Ordered a large Amber Bock on draft for $4 which I consider reasonable. Location is in this places favor for all the Simonton Lake people. Pete's used to be good value for bar food. Good bands and a fun watering hole. I won't make the drive out for this place even if it is locally-owned. Food is just okay. Shhhh...Don't let the word out that Petes has the best burgers in Elkhart... Folks, this is a hidden gem. I've lived on the Northside for the last 20 years and never gave them a 2nd glance. Stopped in on a "where do you want to eat" whim and was totally blown away by the quality of the hand made burgers....fresh toppings and soft buns. I always go for the Bacon Double Cheese with Everything/Deluxe...Bring it on! Not a neat burger by any means. Grab a burger, onion rings and a cold beer and don't forget a handful of napkins. In the summer, the patio is great too! Needless to say, Petes is a favorite with my family now...our go-to burger spot. read more

Not very friendly. I was served a beer with a dirty glass and they charged me for it. I had to stand my ground and refuse to pay for it. They were not apologetic or did not seam to care vey much that it was dirty. They waitress also laughed about the whole thing. Not very professional. I won't be back. read more
