Tasty pizza and beer?! I'm down! I've been to lechyd a few times and each time I've enjoyed the limited edition pizza that is on a changing schedule. There's bar seating, table and also round barrels though the chairs don't have backs on some of those so it's not comfortable for longterm sitting. There's also outside seating with cornhole as well. Awesome brewery with seating inside, outside, and at the bar. We had a flight and a couple beers here which were really good. We ordered the Dippers as our appetizer to share. It's a basket of chips and mini pretzels with 2 dips: ranch and spicy. The spicy dip was amazing. We had a good time, received good service, and paid a fair price. Cheers! read more

In my opinion, this is the best pizza in Elkhart County and easily among the top five I've ever had anywhere. The place offers plenty of seating, including a 12-seat bar and outdoor options when the weather is nice. My favorite beer they brew is Kickstart My Heart IPA (though it's not always available). Cheap beer and great pizza. We love trying new breweries. In fact, most of the time we are traveling I look for breweries because I rarely have bad food experiences. We were in Elkhart camping last year, found this place and made a point to go back when we were there this year. Had time to eat and the pizza did not let us down. Pizza was in the top 3-ish brewery pizzas I've had. Also. The beer is so cheap!! I don't know how they do it. Was really looking forward to dining here on my trip to Notre Dame. Tried to enter the place with my 19 year old son. Was immediately turned away because they have a 21 and over policy. They weren't particularly polite about it either. I asked if he could stay since I was his father and we were just there for dinner. The lady said in a very condescending way..."No sir....we're a bar, bar." At no point did she attempt to offer some type of solution. Perhaps a to go pizza order and a growler or some canned or bottled beer to take along with it, nope. I needed to be tossed out like a deadbeat. Lechyd Da (pronounced yaki da) is a great micro brew in Elkhart, IN. They have a great selection of brews and the food is amazing. My buddy and I ordered two pizzas, The Swansea and Landimore Garlic, and I highly recommend them if you like goat cheese! They make their dough/sauces from scratch, so that's a plus! Definitely a good place to eat and drink with family and friends. read more

For a Tuesday night this place was busy. There was a good mix of different generations and people just enjoying their time. I tried a sampler of four beers and they were good and the special pizza. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff, interesting decor, good beer and food. Establishment does fill up and can be difficult to get a seat. We have been here twice and luck out each time once in dining area and once at bar. Pizzas are really good and prices for food and beer are very reasonable. Note: you place your order at the bar food will be delivered when done. However you will need to go to bar to get your drinks through out the evening. I have heard some complain about this but we did not have a problem with this method service. read more

Forget about the brews... Come here for the pizza!! Seriously. They apparently changed their gluten-free crust two weeks ago and this "new" one is one of the best I've EVER had at a restaurant. It actually puffed up like a regular flour crust, but no reaction so YAY it was definitely GF! And the Landimore Garlic... NOM NOM NOM... so freaking good. I struggled saving some for later. Hubs had the Powis Pepperoni and said it was definitely in the top pizzas he's ever eaten. That's saying something since he's a picky pizza eater! You may wait a bit for your food - but that's because they take their time making it... and it shows in the flavor! The service was attentive... it's an "order at the bar" sort of place, though it looked like sometimes they had a host(ess) for seating. The only thing I'd say about this place is the parking lot entrances are quite narrow. If you've seen my profile, you know we full-time RV which means we have a larger-than-life truck... and that means tight spaces usually mean running over curbs. Judging by the number of black marks on those curbs I'd say it's a pretty common occurrence. Totally worth it though to taste this pizza! read more

We purchased an RV from Elkhart (like a million other people!) about 5 years ago and we return every year or so for service and we always come here at least once a trip for the beer and pizzas. Maybe one day I will learn to pronounce their name! Plenty of parking and outdoor dining is great depending on the weather. Staff have always been very nice. read more

A wonderful brewery experience! The beer was delicious and the food was great. We got the jalapeño popper pizza and it was very good. It had hot honey jalapeños and fried onion peas on it. We also got the apple salad and we had it split into two plates as a sort of appetizer, and it was quite delicious too, with the generous portion. We left completely satiated and happy with our food and drink. The beer was good and they do offer free samples which allowed my girlfriend to own in on which one that she wanted to drink. The service was great with friendly staff and prompt food delivery even though whenever we ordered the kitchen closed in about five minutes. The location itself is very warm and inviting with cornhole and nice picnic tables as outside seating that we enjoyed. The interior is well decorated with a lot of German Stein mugs. read more

Iechyd Da has long been a favorite of mine: A go-to spot for team celebrations where we'd enjoy great food and spend a lot of money. However, after a recent, deeply troubling experience, I will never return, and I feel compelled to share the specifics of what happened to warn others about the unacceptable treatment of individuals with disabilities at this establishment. Last, we went to celebrate, and one of my friend's husbands, who requires a service dog, was shockingly harassed by an employee the moment he walked through the door. Despite the dog being clearly marked as a service animal and them having the appropriate documentation, the employee made a beeline toward him and rudely declared, "no dogs allowed." My friends calmly explained that it was a service dog, which is protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Instead of understanding or complying with the law, the employee asked an illegal and invasive question: "Why do you need a service dog?" Under the ADA, businesses are not permitted to ask about the nature of a person's disability. They may only ask two questions: 1) Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 2) What task or work has the dog been trained to perform? This employee blatantly violated those legal guidelines. When my friends politely reminded her that she couldn't ask for specific information about the disability, she arrogantly claimed she had the right to do so. After reluctantly explaining the medical need for the service dog, the employee took it upon herself to decide that the reason "didn't qualify," which is another violation of the ADA. No business is allowed to determine whether a disability qualifies or not. Service dogs are legally recognized if they are trained to perform specific tasks that assist a person with a disability. As if that wasn't bad enough, the employee further humiliated my friends by insisting the service dog stay hidden under the table. Not only is this inappropriate, but it also disregards the requirement that service dogs must be allowed to accompany their handlers wherever the public is allowed to go. The harassment continued when the employee returned a short while later with a highlighted paper, once again challenging the validity of the service dog. At this point, numerous ADA laws had been broken: - Failure to allow access to a service animal - Asking illegal questions about the person's disability - Challenging the legitimacy of a service dog based on her own, unqualified judgment - Attempting to limit the dog's ability to perform its job by restricting its placement My friends were publicly embarrassed and made to feel deeply uncomfortable in a space that is supposed to accommodate all people, regardless of their disability. The fact that the laws--laws designed to protect individuals with disabilities--were so blatantly ignored and broken by this establishment is appalling. Until this incident, Iechyd Da was a place we regularly brought our team, where we spent a lot of money, and we even had employees who were regulars. But after witnessing such blatant discrimination and disregard for federal laws, we will never return. I strongly urge others to reconsider giving their business to a place that has shown such disrespect and ignorance when it comes to supporting people with disabilities. I also hope my friends pursue legal action because this kind of behavior is not only morally wrong but also a clear violation of the law. read more

Our favorite local brewpub. We hold all others to this level. Great, friendly service, a balanced and delicious rotating beer menu, crazy good food out of their tiny kitchen and a warm friendly atmosphere. This place is consistently busy, but patrons are quick to find a seat for you or invite you to sit with them. It's truly a unique place. Beer... not even sure where to start, their local blonde is good for those wanting something light and refreshing- easy to drink. Breakfast Cookies Mil Stout is smooth, slightly sweet and chocolatey. Their IPA's are full of flavor... can't go wrong with your beer choices. Food, order their pizza... any of them! Chewy crust, delicious pizzas. Favorite is the Landmore Garlic. Took a chance in a last minute stop here, and man am I glad we did. We had a party of 7, grabbed a table right away. This is a DIY focused spot. You find a table. You order at the counter. They bring you your food when it's ready. All very chill, and I liked that. I ordered some food to split with a friend and we definitely overshot things. But hey, I like trying everything when I find someplace new. First we started with the mushroom caps. These are portobello mushroom caps you can pick any two items to top, and they were pretty great. I opted for goat cheese and bacon and I would make that same decision 200 times over. Then we got the St. David cheese bread. AMAZING. Garlicky and perfect. We then ordered the jalapeño popper pizza and a jerk chicken pizza. Both of these were very good, but huge. Leftovers for sure. If I had any criticism, it'd be to maybe put less on the jerk chicken pizza. It felt like an "everything but the kitchen sink" scenario. There was so much flavor there, the corn was an overkill. Came here for the first time with my fiancé while we were in town. He is from the area originally and has mentioned Iechyd Da multiple times recounting how yummy their pizza was and how good their beers and vibe is. So naturally when we were in town we had to stop in. The pizza was nothing short of what he described, absolutely delicious! And their staff was so prompt and friendly. We ordered two pizzas, would definitely order either again. Every pizza I saw come out of the kitchen looked mouthwatering! The beers were very good, I had the blonde and the Italian Pilsner (lighter beers to save room for pizza). My fiancé had the kickstart my heart IPA. We like to check out local breweries and this one is a winner. The only disappointment was that they were out of dunkel. We had a spicy sausage pizza (it is spicy!) the Irish red beer and the Octoberfest beer. I can recommend all of these choices. It is a seat yourself and first come first serve basis. It was busy but we found immediate seats. You order at the bar and you are given a number to take to the table. Pick up your own plates, silverware, napkins, shaker cheese and peepers, olive oil, and Tabasco at the side serving area. Loud, energetic atmosphere. Friendly staff. Man their pizzas are REALLY good! I've only eaten here twice (and I'm not a local) but they had a pizza with Chorizo and some other stuff that was so good I had to eat there twice in a week! It definitely outshines many other restaurants in the area. One problem for me, that may not be an issue for others, is that their menu is very seasonal and constantly changing. This is great if you want to mix things up and try new things often. But usually I'm the kind of person who likes something and eats it every time I go. So if this pizza isn't here the next time I visit (likely around Easter), I'll be sad. But I'm sure whatever else I try will be just as delicious. I had the extreme pleasure of visiting when they had their special pretzels. I heard they used to have them weekly but it caused such riots they decided to make it a rare occasion. They only make a batch of like 125 and they're first come first served. You can't pre-order, you can't call dibs. You gotta get it while it's there! And woah they're HUUUGE man! I didn't realize how huge, so I ordered one and a pizza and I was full before I got 3/4 through the pretzel! The dips on the side are really good, a hot honey mustard that is almost a little TOO spicy, and some sort of cheese. Get them both! I heard it gets crazy busy here. I got lucky and came in at a rare quiet time. Seemed a pretty cool atmosphere, though, with board games and things you can play while you wait/drink. The only other criticism I would have is that they are a little bit pricey, especially for the area. If this place were downtown Chicago, I wouldn't be surprised at the prices, but this is...Elkhart...yet somehow they thrive and people pay (I did, and will) to eat high quality, interesting food. Stopped in randomly and was blown away. Warm and charming interior, great outdoor patio. Place your orders at the bar for beer and pizza then pick your seat. Seated outside? There is a bell you a ring for service so you don't have to lose an eye on your belongings or risk losing your table. The crust isn't my favorite style, but they make up for it in the toppings...variety, amount, uniqueness, etc. Got their special Jalapeño Popper Pizza (bartender recommendation). Was great for dinner, and equally as good cold for breakfast in the car as we continued our travels the next day. Service is friendly, fast and filled with smiles.
