I walked in, verbally and physically acknowledged the 2 shopkeepers, one who had the most cold look on her face, very unfriendly and looked at me in a suspicious manner. No smile. Never stopped looking at me until I walked away to the left of the store. She wasn't doing any task. She just stood, looking at me. The other lady, the same, but at least said hello. The one lady followed me through the entire perimeter of the store. Not once did she ask me, "Can I help you?" Not once did she say, "Are you looking for anything in particular?" If she had, I would have told her exactly what I was looking for. This, by the way, is the PROPER way to surveil your store to keep an eye on your customers. Not follow them around very apparently; that makes a very rude statement (non-verbal, of course) that says: I'm watching you. I've singled out you. It's inappropriate, it's not the correct and mannerly form to prevent shoplifting. I will never be back and I won't ever forget how u made me feel. Whether you purposefully wanted to make someone feel bad today, I will never know. But u did. Put up cameras visibly. Put up the large round mirrors. And yes, keep walking around your store. But talk to your customer. Ask them while they are in the store shopping if you can help them. Ask what they are looking for. Treat everyone the SAME or treat them like you care. Or pretend to.

The cashier was not friendly at all. She totally kills the vibe that the environment is already lacking. My son and I were watched very closely the entire time we browsed the store. Even my son said "why do they keep staying close to us and staring at us?" Staff was very weird and acted like they were suspicious of us shoplifting lol. It was almost entertaining because girl, please... go take a coffee break I'm not stealing your Christmas ornaments! Seems like they may have a loss prevention issue?? Like a previous review for this business stated, I didn't feel welcome in this store. I also asked for my receipt and the half-alive cashier said that since their internet was down, she had to keep my receipt and I couldn't have it. Walmart carries paper receipt books last I checked? Another check in the "this is weird" box. They lack the most important component of a small business (or any business): customer service. Nice products on the shelves but I didn't see anything that I can't order online and curve everything mentioned above.

We spoke with her at length about her business and love for New Orleans and Bay St. Louis. She was personable and interesting and invited us to visit her shop the next day so we did. Imagine my surprise when one of the salesgirls knew who we were right away. Apparently Linda had told her we might be stopping in and to take care of us. Wow. That's spectacular customer service. As for the shop...imagine flowing, linen and thin soft cotton pieces similar to what you'd find at a beachy resort. All very upscale and classy pieces that will last a long time. While I wasn't in store to get anything of that nature I did buy a beautiful necklace that makes me smile every time I see it. Oh and guys, there's something here for you as well. In the middle of the shoes, jewelry and purses there's a room named the Man Cave complete with sports on the television and complimentary beer. So you've got no excuse not to tag along with your lady to this place at all. Perfect.

HOWEVER, I am sad to say I wont be shopping here ever again. I purchased 2 shirts and a pair of earrings for a trip I was leaving on the next day. The first shirt was 94.00 and I could buy a second for 50% off. I really wasnt interested but the sales lady talked me into it. The second shirt was going to be a gift but it did not fit. Upon returning from my trip (like 2 weeks later) I tried to return the second shirt and matching earrings and the sales lady would not take it back stating no returns or refunds on sale items. After she saw my surprise she said she would "do me a favor basically", and let me exchange it. I did not find anything that I wanted to exchange for. I asked for a gift card so I could come back in a month when they had some more of their fall clothes in and was told no...I could not exchange a sale item. Grrrr. Byer beware of their insanely strict policies. Ask or be certain before you buy. Guess you cant buy gifts for people here because i don't know if they would be able to return or exchange them. I could see if I had come back 30 days. I even HAD THE TAGS STILL ATTACHED, THE RECEIPT AND IN THEIR ORIGINAL BAG..... Terrible terrible store policies.
