I found Mr Handyman - Arlington TX - through The Good Contractors List. I live in a mobile home,…read moreand over the years, the number of long-in-the-biz businesses willing to work on a mobile home has all but disappeared. I live in a 2002 Fleetwood Entertainer 16x76, I am the original and only owner. Through my own neglect I let the house get torn up and I needed the living room (carpet & padding removed, chipwood/pressboard decking replaced, new flooring), guest bath (decking replaced, new toilet, new vanity, new flooring), and roof worked on. I was expecting the handyman (David Royal) to hit me with "new roof" and a $15k estimate. David told me I didn't need a new roof, just for the one exhaust vent to be sealed and a few shingles replaced. He only had to replace 1/2 of the decking in the living room, and installed a lovely wood laminate with a white baseboard trim. In the guest bath had been the standard mobile home plastic basin w/plastic faucet in a square vanity, I told him I wanted a pedestal sink b/c the vanity made the bath smaller than it needed to be. Total cost for the roof repairs, living room, and guest bath was about $10k, which I felt was reasonable considering that if I had any issues I have The Good Contractors List guarantee. I will be hiring Mr Handyman - Arlington TX later this year (when the weather is cooler) for at least a new screen door and possibly new skirting for my home. I WISH I had known about Mr Handyman when I had to have my master bed & bath gutted after a plumbing flood.

One of the most unprofessional companies I have ever used. I needed a small simple job done…read more(ceiling fan installed). I told them at booking precisely the ceiling height and fan specs. They advertise, and promised, that they would send technicians ready to do the work same day after they provided me an onsite estimate. However, when the technician gave me the estimate he told me they couldn't do the job until the following week (not same day as advertised). He also told me it would be $700 just to install...for a single ceiling fan! That is more than twice what I had to pay for the fan in the first place. This company is not only unreasonably expensive, they are unprofessional and untrustworthy. I will never use them again.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly The Good - the iron door…read more The Bad - purchase, design, and installation Freedom Iron Door (FID) states - make as many changes as you want to the design of the door before CAD sign off. The owner, Mika, was frustrated w/ the design changes & she threatened to cancel the order stating, "I don't have to put up with this." My concern was that they had my 40% deposit. After that outburst we only communicated via email. - Bluetooth lock - the project manager thought it was funny how sales never tell customers that the Bluetooth only works with a hub and hub is not included. Nothing on the paperwork indicates the need for a hub in order for that feature to work. - Installers will build wall 4.5" framing to support the 6" iron door frame - The right-side door frame over hangs an inch outside of the threshold. - once installed the painters will clean everything up (smudges, marks, etc) - o exterior side of the door has installation spray foam on the paint surface - the painter explains he does not handle that further stating, "you bought a warranty for that - right?" I was not aware the door was not warrantied. Suffice to say, the installation foam does not wipe off. Also shows spray foam around the edges of the door. o Interior side of the door had damage to the paint caused from installation - chipping, denting, black smudges, etc. - during the design phase I asked if the door will have powder coat finish - Mika' s response - YES. The 5/19 email below confirms the door was painted and does not have a powder coat finish. FID failed to notify me that they use spray paint - I work out of my home, and they filled my house with aerosol fumes for 27 minutes. I almost passed out on a business call before I realized what was happening. Had to tell the painter multiple times that he was not authorized to use aerosols inside my home. FID collection agent, Stephanie's states, "You just need to go for a walk and get some fresh air." I could not even lift my head and trying to walk is what caused the incision from a surgery 2 weeks prior to reopen. Their "bubble" was far from effective. The UGLY Lessons, - Ask your neighbors - sales said that FID installed my neighbor's door - after fact checking this statement, my neighbor used an entirely different company. Had I waited I would have used that other door company because of her glowing review. - Read reviews from multiple resources and recognize the red flag when you see employees' names as the authors of the 5star reviews for a company's product. - If you can, check with an architect - this door does not fit the wall framing so now every time I open it I wonder if the door is safe. - Check with your city permitting office - my city requires a permit be pulled when you enlarge a door. - Sadly, it may be best to record every conversation and video the install. Work remains unfinished.... ________________________ 5/19/26 - attached is FID's email response to this chaos... 7/17 Thank you note received asking me to leave a review

My mother told him that's fine we have all been vaccinated in our home but we'll put one on. The way he demanded we put a mask on was rude and not professional. I proceeded to tell him we are both nurses and when we ask patients to put a mask on in their own home we don't demand we request. He then said,"okay then bye." He then closed the door and when I asked him was he leaving he said, "yep." Sir that is absolutely not the way you do business.

I am a single mother with a teenager, and struggling to make ends meet. After greeting him with a cheerful disposition, he didn't look at me, or even address me, and then begins waving his wedding finger in my face. As if I was, or would ever be desperate enough to flirt with him in hopes to gain an extra buck or two on a tip line. I asked him if a few more questions, trying to decipher his desired method of communication, when all of the sudden he bursts out a food order, without having looked at a menu. I laughed and joked about his knowledge of our menu, and that is where he decided to pull his "ethnic" card on me. Mind you, I am also of the same ethnicity, although I don't appear to be. Then when I politely inform him that I, too, am Hispanic, he berated me for not speaking Spanish. And tells me how I am not Hispanic if I don't speak Spanish and how could I not learn my native tongue! Not that it was any of his business, but my "phucks" were already given, and I explained to him that I wasn't raised in a multilingual household. I told him I didn't need to prove myself to him and that I was sorry for not being what he demands someone else of his ethnicity to be. A few more things were said and I walked off to pack his order. Another employee, who was dealing with other customers, says he began yelling at her that he wanted to cancel his order and wanted his money back. I should have kept the money and told him to GTFO... but I was the bigger person and handed him is cash back, gladly, to get him out of the restaurant. What a vile little man. Ha! Man? Noooo.... He's worse. He's a chauvinist, and arrogant, for reasons that are beyond me. A man speaks to a lady with respect. He treated me and my fellow coworker with disdain, and thought we owed him something because we were sharing the same air. Davey Do?? More like Davey DONT! I know this has nothing to do with his "business" but more about the character of the person DOing the business. "No Bueno....!" --- did I say that right???
