It is nice to see such a small, family-owned daycare keeping up with the times. Already, they have started a hyrdoponics system in their science room. The kids get to watch as seeds sprout to small plants. The owner has owned a daycare for over thirty years. She has well over three thousand training hours under her belt. She is very down to earth and straight forward. Picking the children up is always hard right after snack because they are generally served something homemade and delicious. The owner has three daughters who are all now employees. When a business is family-owned, the atmosphere is like a home-away-from-home for all of the inner-city and often underprivileged children who go there. One of the daughters has a double major in both art education and art sculpture in addition to a double-minor in teaching English as a second language and art history. This is invaluable to the growing diversity in the small town. It also makes the Saturday fine-arts program very prestigious. The daycare is currently at Level 3 Paths to Quality, the current highest in the area. Already, they have begun the two-year long application process to get their daycare accredited. This will give them an automatic rating at Level 4 Paths to Quality. This means they will be the only facility in the area to have a Level 4 or accreditation--the highest rating possible.
