    Mommy and me art time!
    Jill D.

My daughter and I started the mommy and me class this past spring! We found out about it by touring the preschool for the upcoming school year, and joined in because we thought it would give us a good idea of what the school was like. We absolutely loved it! Ms. Heather had a new art project every week, we learned new songs, and played with developmentally appropriate and fun toys! We also attended an open house for the school and had the chance to chat with the teacher, Ms. Alyssa. She was warm, welcoming, and instantly connected with my daughter! She got down on her level and talked to her like she was the most fascinating child to ever come through the doors of the school! We were lucky enough to come for the 4s graduation, and I found that Alyssa talked to every child that way, and you could tell she treated them in a way that made them all feel special and safe with her. She's an amazing teacher and I'm so excited to be joining this school!

Every corner is designed with children in mind, and it shows. One of the best signs for me as a parent? My kids don't want to leave when I come to pick them up! A Truly Special Daycare - A Blessing for Our Family…read more Our two children (ages 2 and 4) have been attending Mrs. Kiza's daycare for some time now, and we can honestly say she has been a true blessing to our family. From the moment we met her, it was clear how deeply she cares for each child. Our son began with limited speech, and within just a few months under Mrs. Kiza's care and encouragement, he was speaking with confidence. Our daughter has flourished as well--family and friends are constantly amazed by her vocabulary and how expressive she is for her age. One of the biggest signs of how much our kids love being there? The daily struggle at pickup time! They never want to leave, often kicking and screaming because they've had such a great day. Even at home, they can't stop talking about Mrs. Kiza and their experiences at daycare. Before finding her, we had tried a larger daycare, but it was a completely different experience. Our son was often sick and didn't receive the attention he needed--he was just a number. With Mrs. Kiza, every child is loved and seen. She even checks in after hours or when the kids miss a day to make sure they're doing okay. That kind of care and thoughtfulness is rare. As a mom with high anxiety, it means the world to me to have someone I trust so completely. Mrs. Kiza puts my mind at ease every day. If your kids don't want to leave at pickup time, that's the best sign that something truly special is happening. She is a Godsend and loves our babies just like we do.

Perspective: My children were enrolled a total of 9 months. During which time COVID policy did not allow for parents to shadow or understand how a typical day is run through free play, instruction and curriculum. This policy had always upset me considering my oldest is 2 and youngest 5+ months during the time of enrollment. I will separate my personal opinion and a more constructive business oriented review to ensure as much transparency as possible. Personal Review: Specific to the general well being and care for my children, Mrs. Kiza treated my daughters with love respect. Business Review: For the first initial 3-4 months I did not worry about the health and safety of my children. However it was not until about the 4 month mark when things started to change. We were notified about my youngest daughter having sweaty palms - to which Mrs. Kiza inferred it is related to a heart condition and that we should have her checked by her pediatrician. In my opinion, this should never have been said let alone warranted. It's not like she is a doctor. Another setback seemed to be a repetitive theme of negativity when mom and dad were picking up children from school and Mrs. Kiza seemed to focus on bad behaviors rather then providing even some small wins throughout the day. It just seemed negative. We understand that the toddler stage is rough, and I'm not naive to think my kids are any different. However, small wins and positivity can go much further then focusing on the negatives. I was also highly discouraged when I discovered much older children were also present and parents were not given awareness or notified on the possibility of older and younger children being social with one another. My perspective for this is that 5-6grader (boys) should not be near a two year old or younger for that matter. We were told that the two co-horts were separated, however I will never know for certain. Lastly, and most importantly, for which I'm writing this review; ABC Learning is in breach of contract. At anytime, current parents while thinking they have childcare service secured, could be terminated at a moments notice. We were given 10 days notice that we were being asked to find alternative means of childcare. We asked if it was health related or behavioral and we were told that it was neither. Therefore, this was a PERSONAL decision made by Mrs. Kiza which affected my family, and as a result the need to write my review. I hope to bring awareness for the other families to consider since red flags like this is important to understand context especially when children are being displaced and impacted. Please consider this as an for example for potential families looking to explore childcare services provided by ABC Childcare.

We've experienced two classrooms and loved them both equally. One of the things we appreciate most is how much time the kids get to spend outdoors, exploring and learning in the beautiful natural setting the school provides. From nature walks and the children's garden to discovering bugs and lizards, the environment fosters curiosity, independence, and hands-on learning. The school places a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth, which we value deeply. In the Butterfly Room, Ms. Hilda and Ms. Noemi create an environment that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and curiosity. They guide children with thoughtful questions, nurture resourcefulness, and celebrate diversity, all while helping kids develop a love for nature and the earth. In the Sunshine Room, Ms. Judy and Ms. Jessi are a dynamic, nurturing pair who bring fun, creativity, and compassion to every day. Through singing, dancing, and play, they spark imagination and help the younger children begin forming their first friendships in a safe and joyful environment. We saw our daughter's independent and creative play truly flourish during her time in this class, and it was wonderful to watch her confidence and imagination grow. We often say we wish school could always be like this for our kids. Anne Sullivan has given them a wonderful first classroom experience and instilled in them a genuine love for learning. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, and truly caring toward both the children and their families. We couldn't recommend this preschool more highly--it's truly a gem.

If you're looking for a safe, clean environment, competent administration, structured learning, and…read morestability with trusted adults, then do NOT send your child to Discovery Isle in Murrieta. To be fair, there are some truly exceptional teachers here--Ms. Blake, Ms. Cathy, and Ms. Tina genuinely care about the children and made a positive impact on our family. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the school declined significantly during the 2.5 years my children were enrolled. While there were numerous concerns, the two biggest issues were safety and administration. Safety Concerns * The cameras mounted in each classroom appear operational but are actually nonfunctional. I understood from the beginning they were not intended as a live feed for parents, but I was under the impression that they recorded incidents for later review if concerns arose. I was disappointed to learn that was not the case. * The playground is not privately enclosed, making it visible from the parking lot. Any weirdo or creep on the street can observe the children at play. * Classroom windows have no curtains or coverings, leaving little opportunity to reduce visibility from outside during an emergency. * During a recent (~April 2026) threat that was reportedly made against Discovery Isle locations, administration chose to notify parents by email rather than through an immediate mass text alert. In a situation involving a potential safety threat, I expected a faster and more direct method of communication. Administrative Concerns * School communications--including emails, text messages, and newsletters--frequently contained spelling and grammatical errors. While this may seem minor, it reflected a lack of attention to detail from the leadership team. * If your childcare expenses are supplemented through a third-party program (ours was through the military), carefully review your invoices. On multiple occasions we had to follow up because credits were not applied correctly. This resulted in thousands LOST due to the credits not being applied and too much time lapsed for us to receive those funds. * Communication with administration was consistently frustrating. Phone calls and emails often went unanswered, leaving in-person conversations as the only reliable option. But in person conversations are not a viable option, given that administration will fabricate communications or imply that they never happened. (Pro tip: get EVERYTHING in writing with them. Even the things that don't seem important) * In our experience, administration appeared to form lasting opinions about children based on isolated incidents. Once a child was labeled as having "behavioral issues," it often felt as though every interaction was viewed through that lens. We received frequent calls describing incidents that seemed exaggerated compared to what classroom teachers reported. * When we attempted to discuss concerns directly, we often felt dismissed rather than heard. Conversations felt one-sided, with little willingness to consider parent feedback or collaborate on solutions. Ultimately, these ongoing issues led us to enroll our children elsewhere. The difference has been remarkable. Since changing schools, we've seen significant improvements in our children's happiness, confidence, learning, and overall development. The supposed "behavioral problems" have all ceased to exist, demonstrating the importance of who you entrust your children with. Every family's experience may be different, but based on ours, I cannot recommend Discovery Isle in Murrieta. I encourage parents to thoroughly research their options, ask detailed questions about safety procedures and administrative practices, and trust their instincts when choosing a school for their children.

Our son had a tough time adjusting during his first couple of weeks, and the teachers supported him (and us!) with so much compassion and encouragement. Their genuine care made all the difference. As first time parents, there's nothing more important than knowing our child is safe, loved, and cared for, and that's exactly how we feel every day. We are so grateful to have found a school that treats our most valuable treasure with such kindness and attention.
