I had already lost a twin during this pregnancy, and had horrific experiences with other doctor's offices, who never really honored the loss of my boy - treating him like he was nothing. CAPS got me in as soon as possible, and made sure I saw my surviving twin's heartbeat. At the end of the appointment, they brought out a small candy plate filled with charms, and encouraged me to take a charm for each baby I've lost, saying "you don't get to hold those children earthside, it's important to have something to hold." They then prayed over me, praying for peace and strength, and prayed for my surviving son. It felt like such a restorative, redemptive experience, that my children that I'll never hold in my arms were truly honored in a doctor-setting like never before. I am so grateful to everyone who works there, for their speed in getting me in, for their understanding, and for their genuine care for me and my children.

I was sent here by the VA to get an ultrasound before my doctors appointment. By the end of the…read moreappointment I was told my pregnancy was non viable. The delivery of this information was so cold. Initially it was myself, my partner, the sonogram nurse (who I think was training), and 2 other individuals. They barely said a word to me while conducting the sonogram and then they all left. The nurse who did my ultrasound came back and just delivered the news of "we didn't see a viable pregnancy" and handed me a pamphlet with another place I could go to because "we didn't see anything so you can't come back here". Then they called the next day to say the doctor confirmed that it wasn't viable and to keep my OBGYN appt that is literally a month away. The care was cold. It left me feeling empty and lost. Running a pregnancy clinic should have a better bedside manner. If I'm ever able to get pregnant again I will never step foot in this place again. Seems like they don't know how to deliver or handle giving bad news.
