I give it 3.5 stars. I took the Online Commercial Workshop with Barbara Niles. It was very helpful, and I learned a lot. There was some disorganization. Two of us didn't receive an email with important links for the class. We worked it out, though. What struck me was Barbara's enthusiasm when dealing with the other two students. She told one of them she had a great "mom voice" and gave her plenty of suggestions to find work. She was also really impressed and enthusiastic about the other student. Barbara didn't have the same enthusiasm with me. In fact, she was a lot more critical. I've worked with booth directors before, so I was prepared for that. The other students were either more experienced in voice overs or had an acting background, and I just started a year ago, am quite a bit older than the other students, and I've had a career in another field. There were some other differences, but I don't think they're a factor. I just felt Barbara was subtly telling me I won't book any work. So if you spend your money on these classes, keep a potential lukewarm reception in mind. read more

I took a one-off online class with Karen Strassman fall 2021 and I was absolutely blown away with how much I learned in Karen's 3 hour class. She took the time to do personal coaching for all of us which lasted around 20-25 minutes. I found it invaluable because I had no experience with a coach prior and I also could listen in on other's sessions to study from there, too. Since then, I've taken numerous workout classes and one off classes with several instructors. In one instance, the correct time was listed for a class and they started later than normal. Arianna laid out the realities of working in the industry, and Mike offered a wonderful technical introduction to setting up your home recording studio with specific suggestions for microphones, interfaces, and how to acoustically treat the space you record in. As someone lucky to be a professional voiceover talent in Los Angeles (for over 20 years!) - I've been in pretty much every major recording studio - But while they all may have the top-notch, state-of-the-art equipment like REAL VOICE ... they do NOT have an Owner and Director like MIKE, who cares passionately about putting the Talent at ease, encouraging, and bringing out the best in your performance. While during this time he is as booked out as every other professional recording studio in Hollywood (and by the way has insane safety and health protocols in place to ensure the well-being of his clients) - if you're lucky enough to book a workshop with them, or produce a voiceover reel with MIKE - all I can say is, you are in the best of hands, and know that you are on the road to success. read more

Also it's once of the only places that offer classes in Spanish too! As for voice coaches I can't recommend Kirsten Day and Valentina Latyna enough, they are great coaches and have helped me a lot to better my skills. Honestly, I would give 6 stars if I could! I'm still new to voice over and have taken a few workshops here. Based on my experience, I can tell the owner, Mike, and the instructors really care about their students and are invested to help you succeed! Every time I have a concern or want to check if there are anymore spots open (workshops have limited seating to ensure everyone has lots of booth time and feedback), I just send a message on IG. Mike always responds quickly and is extremely helpful. The instructors will give you feedback on improvement, help you pinpoint your strengths, and give you insight about working in VO. In addition, it is a fun and friendly environment to learn, along with meeting other VO students/professionals. I am extremely pleased that they are well equipped, offer their services at an affordable price, and send you a file of your recording afterwards. Plus, they offer snacks (nothing can beat free Cheez Its) and drinks (tea, coffee, water) for their students! Being a tea person, my eyes went towards the tea selection.
