When I showed up I could tell there were people that have been doing this group for a long tIme. Well there's a reason for that. Eartha is, simply put, magic. Her smile is infectious. She's got so much swagger. As a new mom going to her class was like going out to a club except I didn't have to get dressed up or stay out late. I could just close my eyes, get down, and lose calories! But don't close you eyes too long haha. You've got to work for that class WERK. We saw that there was a play called Jane Austen Unscripted being held outside the theater in back of the building. 8 of us decided to go and got a table just in front of the stage. It was lunchtime and local stores and restaurants provided some munchies, one per person, like fruit tarts, berry scones, a cupcake and cucumber tea sandwich. When reading the "program" we saw it was going to be improv with members of the Impro Theater, and as we've been to improvs before we know that it can be great or not so much. We, and every table at the show, thought it was a fantastic show. The actors did a great job that had us laughing and enjoying it to the 10-star degree. We understand that there's a bit of a different show based on the actors and audience response, but our show was great! It's still playing for a little while so if you can and like Jane Austin and improvisation definitely go see it!

I think we had a total of 6-7 classes, but after the second class, we had the entire routine down - it was all just about perfecting it. Lucia came up with the entire dance, after we expressed our song and vision to her. She even edited the music. She was so friendly, her schedule was so flexible, and she took advantage of each minute of every class. We really lucked out with her. She is so incredibly talented, and it shows. Our wedding was about a month ago and people don't stop talking about our first dance. The choreography was so amazing. It should also be noted that neither myself not my husband are dancers in any way! Thank you Lucia! Do not think twice about using her for your first dance choreography. The thing I love most about there is that they have is tic toes that will teach you the skills and the foundations do dance while still making it fun. I need a balance of technique and fun and they deliver! I have had the esteemed pleasure of working with and competing with many of the instructors, I've learned a multitude of dances, had incredible support and the most fun I've had pretty much anywhere. Dance itself can be almost addictive once you jump in and boy what better place to get those endorphins in while learning than at a place like this? I went from knowing virtually nothing and feeling very overwhelmed (in a good way) about any partner style dance, (I also didn't have a background in other forms of dance) and threw myself in entirely to then be at my first salsa competition a year later. I'm so glad I made that investment. I've warned lifelong friends and memories. They have knowledgeable teachers, kind staff, a wonderful space and always something fun going on. I have worked with the owner, Raul, the amazing Artem, the show stopping Yesenia, the bubbly Deana, the sassy Jackie and many others during my time there. And he did so humbly and with the gracefulness of Mr. Miagi. This guy wins friends and influences people! He also has the class summarize things gone over to help us retain and remember what he taught which is very helpful. If you're looking to round out your education, get ANY possible question answered (Ex. Q: Can I have a dollar, Jay? A: No!!! Ex. 2 Q: Pleeeeeeeease?! A: No!!! Ex. 3 Q: .... A: No!!!), have ongoing support via email and messaging (it's really mentoring if you think about it), or see the greatest cow impression ever performed in a sober state (Cheers to sobriety! *Clink*).... You've gotta do this class. Find a cheap AirBnb near the heart of Hollywood -- there's a great spot in Culver City with a Japanese chick hosting for instance either for a one bed or two bed. Uber-ing over was $5-6 per way total for two people. I forgot to, but remember to take pictures including with your classmates and Jay and his friends for nostalgia's sake. Also, there was an awesome improv performance by Jay and his pro friends at the end. Haven't seen it that good in person! Don't sneeze or you'll be begging for a replay.

As seniors a friend somehow heard about a play called "Act Your Age" and said they wanted to go see…read moreit and wondered if we would come with them and as we often go to theaters together we said "sure," especially on the name of the play, We've gone to many theaters that have less than 100 seats (this theater has 60) so that it would be fun. Like most of these small theaters there are no assigned seats. The theater is comfortable, every has good seats and the seats were comfortable When entering this very small theater the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly, confirmed that we had tickets and at one point told everybody that if they had to go to the bathroom that they have a deal with a restaurant/bar about 4 doors away, which people appeared to take advantage of as they let us in about 7:15 for a 7:30 show. Art Shulman, the writer of the play, greeted us in the lobby and was very nice. He later got on stage at the beginning of the play to explain how and why he wrote this play. The street that the theater is on has many restaurants and next time we come we'll probably find a restaurant on the street to eat and/or have a drink. The play itself was okay, two married seniors, their pregnant daughter and her husband. The four of us thought it started kind of slow but did get better after intermission. It was very nice that the actors and writer were available to chat after the play ended.
