It was quite obvious that I needed insight on the position modifications to help build strength bc in each case other classmates were trying to give me helpful advice but the instructors should have stepped in and taken the lead and each time they stood at the front of the class and ignored my obvious struggle. I will note that I noticed that the instructors also ignored the needs of many heavyset white women in the class as well. Additionally, there is at least one instructor who is openly racist... short with thin, short curly hair. I really tried to give the place a chance over the course of the 2 years I was a member. I would have like to say that it was an ok experience but with 3 injuries and that awful instructor, I can't in good conscience give any more than the minimum to this company. They need to do better training their instructors to work with people of all colors and body shapes and not just the thins ones instructors are comfortable working with

I had been recovering from a herniated disc that also led to the discovery of mild scoliosis, which is not abnormal for older women, in particular. I took all of these issues to LSF and was rewarded with excellent knowledge and experience helping others like myself work back to a strong, flexible body. While I don't always love it, every instructor has been on me for positioning and form, which is key to not getting reinjured. As a pilates newbie, it's been helpful and I do not exaggerate when I say that I have been mostly pain-free since starting. My only struggle is with signing up for classes. Because they fill up very quickly, it is hard to budget because you need to sign up for a lot of classes in advance, which means you have to pay for a lot of classes at once. (They're certainly worth it and priced fairly.) I have had success with the waiting list, however, and there was only one time I did not get into the class. The silver lining of all this is that clearly people think highly of the classes/instructors and want to get in! I also appreciate that the owner/staff "hear" clients and try to make class policy changes that are sensible and not just penal. It's not easy running a small fitness business, so just them being there as a resource is terrific. They play great music, everyone is super friendly and down-to-earth, and the studio is cute.
