I told her that we were first-time home buyers and didn't really know anything about the process or where to begin. She could have very easily have blown us off but, instead, she she set up our first meeting (via zoom) and walked us through the process, giving us tips for how to begin once we were ready. Review for Libby and Alfredo Team: After falling in love with Austin and making the goal to make it our permanent home, my Fiancé and I figured we needed some help navigating this crazy market, especially as first time home buyers. We began our search on the various websites (Zillow, Redfin, Realty Austin, etc., etc.). Since we liked the interface and listings on the RA website, we eventually signed up for the Realty Austin newsletter and began getting emails from Libby and Alfredo. We decided to ask if they could help and that was the best decision we could have made. Over the course of almost an entire calendar year, Libby provided us with expertise, patience, and exemplary customer service. She completely understands the first time home buyer and always had an answer for our 101 questions. Below is a (non-exhaustive) list of how Libby was such a help to us: * Strong listener, remembers what we say and applies it to her searches * Very Responsive and Flexible - spent an entire day taking us to 8 properties and made sure her availability matched ours since we lived out of town (this is just one example, her communication was always responsive as well) * Patient - never tried to "steer" us in a specific direction * Respected our opinion while also politely giving her own - her actions made it clear she was more interested in finding us our dream home, than cashing a commission check * Expertise on the Austin market - gave good guidance on when to consider pulling the trigger and when to maybe wait for another opportunity. David Ivy at Realty Austin deserves well over 5 stars!! As a first-time homebuyer, I needed someone with experience in Austin's insanely competitive real estate market. David was incredibly attentive and took the time to describe every aspect of the transaction from start to finish. I actually met David through the Bigger Pockets forums about a year before I made my first purchase. I was looking for someone in the Austin market that had experience with multifamily real estate investments and he stood out. He helped me prepare in the months leading up to the transaction by recommending lenders that could work with my specific financial situation. (Being in a new sales role sometime makes it difficult to get a loan without a long history of success.) After that we discussed my goals, what to expect in this market, and potential pitfalls to look out for. Once we were prepared, we started looking at the MLS for properties that met my criteria. Once I was ready to make an offer, he walked me through the contract and advised on several different strategies I could take to make my offers stand out. AND IT WORKED!
