I had a great experience delivering my second baby with Dr. Yee. I was especially thrilled that she was there on-call in the hospital when I delivered my baby in 2017 as well. It was a special time. Because Dr. Yee is so personable, she always makes things in the exam room extremely comfortable. I'm glad that I was able to reconnect back to her office after so many years. I really meant to but kids really do get in the way of self care sometimes. The nurse who helped me was very nice as well. I have been with Rebecca Yee for over 20 plus years. She delivered both my babies who are now 15 and 18. When you have an extremely smart person at the helm of your reproductive health and then at the end of reproductive health, you feel very lucky. Not only am I a Physical Therapist, I have a resting heart rate of 50, the blood pressure of a 30 year-old and the toned/muscled physique of a gymnast. Oh, C'MON! She's CLEARLY not paying attention. 5 years ago my husband and I moved to SF from NYC and I was in search of a new OBGYN. I loved Dr Yees background and was really glad she had openings after the first time I met her. She is incredibly caring, very straightforward and unbelievably professional. I appreciated how supportive she was during the pregnancy of our first child and how diligent she was with every test, detail and visit. When I had to have a c section, Dr Yee was detailed, extremely empathetic and ensured I had minimal anxiety. I am so thankful for Dr Yee and her practice. I am a long time patient of Dr. Rebecca Yee, she has seen me through two pregnancies, and she is a perfectly competent and very capable physician. It's too bad HER PATIENTS NEVER GET TO SEE HER! In the last three years, she has only graced me with her presence once. Everytime I've needed to be seen I was passed down to Olga, (who is very nice BTW) her Physician Assistant. Classic case of TOO MANY PATIENTS! When I first began seeing Dr. Yee six years ago, when I was pregnant with my son. I felt like she was a great doctor, who truly cared about her patients and had a personal connection with each of them. I have several friends who all see (or try to see) her. I think quite a few of her patients will agree that the personal attention and relationship has certainly changed and given way to rushed appointments in what feels like a factory churnning out patients with a quick "take two of these and call me in the morning" . Don't even get me started on the front dest/appointment staff. I live in Vallejo, CA and I work in Napa. I scheduled an 8:30 appointment at Dr. Yee's office (with none other than Olga). After getting my two kids up at 6:00am to to take them to daycare by 7 so that I can get on the road to city, I was caught in just a little rush hour morning traffic on interstate eight.y I was literally 10 like ONE ZERO minutes late and I was told that I could not been seen. Where is the compassion? Oh I forgot I was offered a 9:45 appointment and a good luck making it to your job by 10! Needless to say, I will be helping Dr. Yee out with her "too many patients problem" because now she definately has one less. read more

Well, Several years ago i was told Dr. Yee was great... So I decided to go to her. I never could seem to get Dr. Yee, and was passed on to Olga and Dr. Clay, who are good... but you would think after 3 years I might actually want to see the orignal Dr. I came for. I decided to stand my ground and ask for "Fabulous Yee" and I finally got an appt. The day of the appt. I was literally a block away when a call on my cell phone said that she had to cancell to deliver a baby, which is fine ... thats what she does... but here I am, having to wait another (2 months) YES 2 MONTHS ! till my appt. Dr. Yee is cool. I've been going to her for 7 or 8 years now. I don't have kids and probably won't have any. She still sees me herself every time I go in, so I'm not sure where the "unless you're pregnant..." part mentioned in other reviews comes in. But who knows, maybe she does want to emphasize the OB part of the GYN more with new patients... I don't know. Anyway she has the best bedside manner and is really nice, and does a great job of putting things in perspective and easing concerns. read more

I have surrounded myself with stellar doctors, and Dr. Yee is on my team. She is always professional and personable and listens to me. I would recommend her to anyone. She says on top of my medical treatments and makes sure that everything is still going well. She advises me to come and see her if there are any specific changes--she details the changes I should look for and what we will do if they occur. Proactive, baby--not reactive. Dr. Yee was my first GYN out of college more than 10 years ago, way back when she was a doctor at BaySpring Women's Medical Group. Well, I should have followed her when she left that practice, because man oh man, how things went south (no pun intended) after that. Well, fate has its way of working things out, because when I learned I was pregnant a few months ago, the first doctor on my referral list was Dr. Yee. I was shocked, and thought, "Is this my favorite Dr. Yee, who's been unmatched by any GYN ever since?!" Yes, yes it is. And she's as great as I remember. She has such an easygoing personality, really makes you feel comfortable, is extremely knowledgeable of things other doctors have flubbed...simply put, I trust her 100% with my pregnancy. I hope to update this review with more fond words after I deliver, so stay tuned. I do notice that some other reviewers have had problems with the staff. I can't say I've encountered any issues of the sort. They've always been as accommodating as possible, and very efficient - never rude. And frankly, I'm looking for bedside manner from the doctor, not the receptionist... If you can't get in to see Dr. Yee, give Dr. Massa a try. I saw her on my first visit because Dr. Yee wasn't available (but I really needed to get in to see someone), and had it not been for my previous history with Dr. Yee, I'd have stuck with her for sure. read more

Hard to get an appointment, and like others have said, the office is quite bustling with a fairly terse front desk. But Dr. Yee herself is great--friendly, personable, quick and thorough. She is someone you can easily talk to and have a discussion with, without feeling shut down or as if your concerns or questions are not valid. She also offers to do every test imaginable, including bloodwork, rather than have you be proactive about what you should/shouldn't do. I really really really dislike doctors/hospitals/exams, but I do not mind going to Dr. Yee. She makes it both bearable and comfortable. read more

I have been seeing her since we moved to San Francisco when I was 5-mo pregnant 4 years ago. I just had another baby last September. She's AMAZING. I have no bad things to say about her. She's very knowledgable, super friendly and extremely easy to talk to (even when you are half naked). She made my both pregnancies feel so easy, even though when they were not. I almost went into labor with my first one when I was 32-week pregnant, stayed in the hospital for 4 days and was bring put on moderate bed rest after that for 4 weeks or so. She made everything so stress-free even in such a stressful situation. Yes, I agree with other reviews that the appointments can feel rushed sometimes especially when they are running late in the later part of the day. But whenever I had questions, Dr Yee always spent time answering them with great patience. So besides some casual, non-medical related chat, are appointments really rushed? I don't think so, at least as a patient, you are still receiving great treatment and all the information you need to get or are interested in. read more

Dr.Yee is to the point and doesn't seem judgmental. I like her and trust her as far as western medicine goes. I've been going to her for years and really find her to be consistent which I can't say for most doctors these days. She has also helped me figure out some issues I have and communicated what the future holds for me so that I could plan ahead. Again, I can't say many doctors these days have that foresight. I do recommend seeing an acupuncturist or midwife or some sort of eastern medical professional for another perspective. I've learned a lot more than what Dr. Yee could offer alone. The downside: Her receptionists have mostly been okay up to this point with some minor issues here and there. However, this last call I made the receptionist was incredibly rude and actually hung up on me while we were ending our conversation to make an appointment. I guess its just really hard to find good honest help these days. Surprises me with all the jobless good people out there. read more

Dr Yee is my OB and delivered my daughter at CPMC. I really couldn't ask for a better OB, especially since we had some last minute surprises during labor that she graciously walked me through. I felt she always kept my birth plan in mind and gave me options of how to move forward. She always had a thoughtful recommendation and I could tell she really wanted what was best for baby and me. I never felt rushed or that I was making an uneducated decision during labor as she always explained the risks/benefits of various medications and procedures. She is very straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush which I really appreciate in a Dr. She does a great job of explaining everything step by step. I find her the perfect balance of being a warm, caring physician but also sharp, experienced and confident. While it's sometimes tricky to schedule routine appointments she does make the time for same day / next day appointments if there is a specific concern or issue that is worrying you. Her team, including Magda, are great and always return calls within an hour or two. I always feel very well taken care of. One thing to note is that Dr Yee's practice partners with a sister practice for on call Drs at CPMC so it's a bit of a gamble on who will actually be the Dr doing the delivery. I come in with my list of questions and slight ailments and she answers all of them with confidence yet remaining approachable. She makes me feel like I am really being looked after and she reviews my history thoroughly with me and what to expect. I had my first prenatal appointment with Dr Yee this month. I was very very nervous and she could tell I'm sure. Her assistant, who took my weight and blood pressure was lovely. Dr Yee was 45 minutes late but I had nothing else to do that day and she's obviously very busy so it didn't bother me. She was very thorough and put me at ease. We talked constantly, she made conversation to distract me from the rather exposed position I was in during my exam. I really appreciate that, I found the reception staff to be fine. Yes on the phone they can sound terse but I'll let them off. It must be difficult to work in such a busy clinic. In person I found them to be very helpful and sweet. I have no complaints. I'm even looking forward to my next appointment! read more

Dr. Yee has seen me through multiple pregnancies and has been stellar throughout them all. I love her no-nonsense demeanor and that she's not crazy conservative with her advice. She's the type of doctor who won't let you create a mountain out of a molehill, even if you're the anxious type. I am a person who does not particularly enjoy being pregnant (nausea, heartburn, back pain, oh my), and she's always been able to make me laugh while acknowledging that for me, pregnancy just kind of sucks. I've never been delivered by her (Drs. Huh and Yu delivered my first two, and they're also awesome), but she did a d&c for me after a distressing miscarriage and was empathetic and professional throughout. My wife was Rebecca Yee's patient, so I'm writing this from the perspective of a husband and expectant father who sat through 6 months of office visits and then a successful hospital birth. It was very difficult to watch my wife treated poorly by Dr. Yee. Ours was a high-risk pregnancy, so we worked with both Dr. Yee and a clinic specializing in high-risk pregnancies. The differences were stark: At the clinic, doctors would describe the reasoning behind each recommendation they made. They would describe relevant factors of our ages and health, the information they had about our pregnancy, and outcome statistics related to the choices we were to make. When Dr. Yee made recommendations she could not tell us why, and she quickly became irritated when we asked for her reasoning. I concluded that she was winging it. She seemed insufficiently concerned with her patients and with perfecting her craft. My wife had a concern that led her to go to the hospital. One of Dr. Yee's colleagues told us - kindly - that my wife's concern was covered in the free booklet we should have received. We had not received this booklet, so we asked Dr. Yee for it, and she replied that she had stopped handing it out when CPMC stopped making it available to her free of charge. I cannot recall receiving information about prenatal nutrition, birthing and baby classes, or most other routine issues from Dr. Yee's office. The delivery was ultimately successful, but it required a second procedure due to excessive bleeding. Dr. Yee's printed pre-operative instructions mentioned stopping aspirin intake 24 hours before the procedure. My wife thought that sounded odd, so she stopped 48 hours before. Hospital staff told my wife that it is standard protocol to stop taking aspirin 5 days before a procedure. When asked about this Dr. Yee ignored the question. Finally, our very modest birth plan was ignored, even though nothing about the scheduled procedure should have precluded following the plan, and even though Dr. Yee had solicited the plan from my wife. This was not a big deal, but it was more evidence that Dr. Yee was checked out. read more

Dr. Yee has been my 5 star OBGYN for 8 years!! She is a knowledgeable doctor but over the past years the appointments have become increasingly fast-paced and rushed. When I had a miscarriage she gave me a prescription and said - it would be like a heavier period. Well, I wish. I was in intense labor-pain for 13 hrs, had an allergic reaction and therefore couldn't take any painkillers to deal with the intense pain. When I informed her at the next visit there was no sympathy nor acknowledgment that she had failed to inform me of the side effects or what this was going to be like. I stuck with her after that experience but now I think it's time to find a doc where I feel taken care of and well-informed. read more

I was in final five weeks where i needed to see doctor rebecca yee every week and Angie was extremely inflexible, rude and impolite. she refused to open up any appointments - what am i supposed to do at 35 weeks - go find another doctor? I was only able to get 3 out of 5 appointments before my due date. Ridiculous. I am sure if I spoke to rebecca yee directly she would have accomodated me. I was so turned off by the attitude of the desk staff that i seriously contemplated switching practices. Angie is downright unprofessional. I like Dr. Yee, I really do. She's knowledgeable, kind, and reassuring. She basically took one look at me, diagnosed me on the spot, and now I'm in the process of finding the right combo of drugs to help alleviate the symptoms of my problem. The symptoms I'm having affect so many areas - from my skin, my hair, my nails, my metabolism, whether or not I'll be able to conceive or if I'll develop uterine cancer, everything! None of the doctors I've gone to in the past (dermatologist, internist, etc.) could figure out what was wrong before, so it's such a relief to finally have a diagnosis and know what to do about it. Sure, I may still die and all, but at least I'll know why. My problem lies with Dr. Yee's staff. Oh, they're perfectly pleasant, so it has nothing to do with their attitude or customer service skills. In fact, I'm a bit hesitant to write this b/c I realize that they might not be able to help this, but twice now my appointments with Dr. Yee have been cancelled. The first time was because they accidentally scheduled me on a day when Dr. Yee wasn't going to be in the office. The 2nd time was because they accidentally scheduled me to come in on a holiday, when the office was going to be closed. Now, if your doctor gives you a diagnosis, tells you to follow-up in a few weeks, and the staff prevents you from following up because of constant errors on their part, wouldn't you be annoyed too? Eventually, I gave the staff a whole lotta shit, got transferred to Dr. Yee's assistant, and got an appointment for the next day (this, after already waiting an extra month for my follow-up appointment). I hate being that person, but it seems if they drop the ball there, you pay for it unless you're willing to scream at someone (thereby embarrassing yourself in front of your co-workers 'cause this call invariably happens during business hours) and insist they get you in pronto. In sum: 5 stars for doctor, minus 1 star for junior-league scheduling skills. Dr. Yee is really popular, and really hard to get an appointment with. One would think that with a doctor in such high demand on their staff, they would have mastered the scheduling-thing long ago. read more

I have been going to Dr. Yee for about 5 years now and I absolutely love her! BUT (and this is a big BUT) every single time I call the office for any reason I end up waiting on hold for AT LEAST 10 MINUTES (usually more like 15) before I speak to a person. They don't even give you the option to leave a voice message so they can call you back. I can't imagine how many "daytime minutes" I've wasted listening to annoying elevator music trying to get ahold of my doctor. Plus, last time I called and the person I talked to said she would leave a message for Dr. Yee or her nurse assistant to call me back and I NEVER got a return call. I am seriously annoyed and have decided to switch doctors because of this. Still, I do love Dr. Yee and wish I could stay with her, but the situation has become unbearably frustrating. read more

Every time I call they put me on hold, forever, when they finally do pick up I always feel like Im bothering them...very unprofessional. I've seen Dr. Yee and she is awesome. That is why I gave all the stars! This is about her staff. I have now had 3 instances of not getting the paperwork I requested sent to me. It takes me on average 3-4 calls and about 2 weeks to get paperwork. The receptionists are friendly. They recently trained new staff for reception. I think they need a manager to oversee the receptionist/nursing staff better so that things don't constantly fall through the cracks. Something is not being communicated well between reception and nurses, and doctors to nurses. It actually falls on the nurses to send out the paperwork I requested and each time it has been very difficult due to this lack of communication. read more
