I wandered into this smoke shop right before Christmas. I was looking for something for my fiancé but I had no idea what. The very helpful nice lady recommended this puffco peak. I had no idea what it was but trusted her and bought it for him. The one I bought didn't work. I knew they didn't do exchanges or returns so I was assuming I was going to have to contact the manufacturer myself and was worried it was going to be a huge pain in the ass. Luckily I brought it in and they ordered me another one no problem. They were all super nice and kept me updated during the process. Now he's obsessed with it and thinks it's the coolest thing ever. Drove to Tampa from Austin, TX and had 2 different e-cig batteries and 1 charger decide to self destruct on the way here. Needless to say I was a bit perturbed about my recent decision to quit smoking cigarettes and convert to E-cigs... Everything changed when I walked into Recked. The a/c vent was blowing on her bangs just right, the subtle glow of the e-cig case illuminating her silhouette in tones of neon pink and yellow. There in front of me stood my angel of the e-cig, my queen of nicotine, hallowed harbinger of heavenly inhalation, Star. I barely noticed the incredible selection of tobacco, and tobacco accessories. Awesome shop! I was pleased with how quaint the inside was. I felt welcomed, was asked if I needed help promptly, and wasn't bothered for how long I was taking because I'm very indecisive and look up reviews for everything. The store had a very artistic variety of pipes and water pipes. I wasn't in for that but I did see a lot of cool ones I'd like to have. The store owner was extremely nice and helpful. I went in to purchase a 'detox' and knowing that the store can't help me with that decision I took my questions to the Internet. The store carried 2 brands of what I was looking to buy and they seemed to be quality products from what I read online. I got a 'good choice' in the end, which was all I needed to feel good about my decision. I will be back. The store is cool, the owner is nice, and the selection is great. Thanks! Update: Returned to Recked to buy more X stream synthetic urine. This product works like a charm, it does its job and that's why I went back to pick up some more. I can only vouch for this product but I'm sure anything that shop carries will work. Once again, I had a pleasant experience! The owner/manager even remembered me . He's really nice but just remember that there's a fine line between what you can talk about and what you can ask. If you're in for synthetic urine or drinks, call it detox or the brand name. If you have a question they may or may not be able to answer it, check the internet. If you want to pass your urinalysis with no worries, buy X stream and try not to bother the dude with questions he can't answer. I never have cash on me but I did notice a tip jar. I have been coming here for years. Never had an issue until today. The girl behind the counter refused to use my card. First why do you have a card reader if you only do cash. Second right before me another customer paid with cash and she pocketed that cash. I won't be taken stupid by someone stealing from their employer. read more

Not impressed. The girl behind the counter was more worried about talking derogatory about another vape shop than she was about addressing the root of my problem which wasn't major to begin with. I own a small business and would never take to the practice of down talking my competitors just to gain some business. It looks desperate and like bad business practices. I thought the vaping community was a close knit group from what I've seen at the conventions, Ive never been to another vape shop that wanted to waste time to talking negatively about competitors. If you want my business SHOW me why you're better. Talk is cheap. Won't be back. Positively love this place! I've moved around to different parts of Tampa over the last 8 years or so, and have been to plenty of shops since... I no longer live close to recked, but will never shop at another place for a quality piece! I think over the time I've met this "Star" that people talk about once.. Couldn't really comment there. But I can say that the selection is outstanding here, and Kory (store owner) is seriously the shit and knows his stuff!!! He saved the day for me about a year ago when one of my pieces was stolen from my car.. Took time with me to let me pick out the perfect one (that I still have now) and showed me each one I asked for very kindly, and patiently. A few days ago I came back because I accidently murdered my gorgeous water pipe I had...! I had been to 5 different shops (with zero luck...) before returning again to recked, and when I told him what I was looking for he disappeared for a moment, and came out with the coolest piece that has a dark gecko on it!! I was instantly floored. Not only did he pinpoint the type of artwork I was going for, he also remembered me from my car break-in story from the year previous!! Truly... Very outstanding service. AND... As if things couldn't get better here?! THEY DO REPAIRS.....!!! So I still get to keep my older water pipe because it will be good as new soon. Could anyone really ask for anything more from a smoke shop? If you think the prices are too expensive, then you obviously don't know the concept of quality over quantity. And truly? It's really not THAT expensive to be honest. If you want an aesthetically pleasing (and good QUALITY) selection, and people who are kind and willing to help you find what you're looking for, then you should save yourself the trouble of gut wrenching disappointment from other shops and just go here first!!! Gotta say i was extremely disappointed in this place. I traveled from Chicago to Tampa to visit family and popped in here for a small souvenir piece. The selection of bongs and waterpipes was impressive but the prices are absolutely outrageous! I asked to see a spoon pipe approximately 2.5 inches, single color, single blown glass. Very flimsy and very thin. The price was 30 dollars for something I could've purchased for 5 at a gas station in the Chicagoland area. I offered the sales person 15 for the piece, being generous, but she only implied I must only shop at flea markets for my glass. When in fact I have 2 dozen pieces in my collection including authentic Roor and Gravlabs glass. Safe to say I'll save a few bucks and return to my local shops where they treat customers like better than stupid stoners and more like buyers who have acquired a true respect for glass and the artists behind it. read more

Well I don't usually write reviews but this shop does not care about their customers. They do have quality glass but are also overpriced. But the real reason I am posting is because I brought in a broken glass piece to be fixed. Well guess what? I never seen it again. I kept calling and calling and calling. Every time I asked about the current status of my repair they just kept on telling me they were waiting for a part in the mail so they can fix it. Their stories didn't match up every time I called. I could tell they never did anything with it. When i tried asking for it back they said they had already sent it out and must wait for it to return.
