I am very sad that Cassandra no longer works at Recoop. She was the one stylist I have ever seen who made a REGULAR manicure last as long as shellac. It was like a miracle. And her attention to detail is simply not replicated in the other nail stylists now at Recoop. I have been in a handful of times in the last several months for shellac manicures and regular pedicures and I'm always hoping for excellence like with Cassandra. I really wish the current nail stylists would receive more training on keeping polish off cuticles, not leaving steaks of polish when using opaque pastels, and on more thorough cuticle cleaning work. It's such a cute salon but the quality of nail service needs to improve. I do my nails at home sometimes, and if I can do it better than a salon, then there's a lack of oversight happening in management :( read more

Absolutely love this place! Purchased a Groupon for a Coop+ Pedicure, made a super easy appointment online, and had a wonderful experience with Vivian. I stupidly did not plan enough drying time though and didn't wear open toed shoes. Vivian, concerned for my new pedicure, begged me to wait longer, but when I couldn't just stated "ok you come back and I'll fix it!". When I got home and took off my shoes I was so saddened to see that Vivian was indeed right. My big toes had smudged. =[ The next day the spa was open they got me right back in to fix it. Vivian took such care to make it perfect. This was completely my fault for not waiting and they took care of me anyway! I will definitely go back and will recommend this place to all. I had a really mixed experience here unfortunately. I had booked two heeling therapy pedicures for a friend and I to celebrate her birthday. It was my first time here (someone on our neighborhood board had recommended this spa so thought to check it out). My experience was a four star experience while her experience unfortunately was more of a 1 star experience. Given that I spent $160 between the two pedicures including tips vs. my normal spot (Hoa Salon in Madison Valley who offers a similar pedicure for $35 before tip), weighing our whole experience at closer to two stars. I feel bad that I had a really sweet pedicurist, Kelly, when it was my friend's birthday she had one that seemed to rush through it (my pedicure was close to an hour while my friend's was 40 minutes). Despite midway through the pedicure, my friend confirming with her pedicurist that we had booked the same treatment she didn't have the same steps that I did (my pedicurist used a callus grater on my feet and the people next to us also had the same treatment and had long pedicures more similar to mine while hers was skipped although her heels needed it as well :)). Although the descriptive of the treatment mentions that a Clarisonic pedi is used neither of us had that (I had used it once in CA and it was different than the battery operated scrubber used). When we brought this to the attention of the receptionist (that steps had been skipped in my friend's heeling pedicure), she offered to discount 10% which I appreciate although ironically I think looking at the website what she had was the coop+ pedicure (which I still overpaid for after a 10% discount on the heeling one). Although my pedicure was great (Kelly) and would highly recommend her, where I'm disappointed is given I was treating my friend... when one is paying this much you shouldn't have to double check steps of your pedicure and had really hoped that we both could have consistent, good experience. read more

I felt completely relaxed ! This was the perfect in town getaway for a couple of hours. Booked then appointment over the phone. Got a massage with a little extra time on feet and also a sugar scrub which smelled amazing! For massages you go into a room with has snacks and tea and water. Very comfortable lounge couches. Your stuff goes into a locker and you remember your code only. Bathroom with shower is a changing room. During the massage I felt completely relaxed like I said it was very pleasant. I would recommend coming here! After the massage appointment, they don't rush you out. I had a couple cups of tea to feel awake then was on my way out. read more

Today my manicure was not very good, polish all over my cuticle, and upon checkout I was not acknowledged for 2 minutes until the girls were finished with their conversation, hard to not notice someone 12inches from you. I love Recoop. I have a monthly membership. When I signed up for a membership I got a gift bag. I was a little turned off that they gave me an old half used bottle of nail polish that they stopped using in their nail salon. I also received a candle of my choice and two samples. I was hoping for a better gift bag as someone at the front desk said it was totally worth the 25 dollar membership fee. I would have to disagree. Their staff and services make up for the gift bag though. I have been in for two massages. Tracy is amazing gave me the best massage and targeted the spots that needed the most attention. I will definitely be back for another one next month. I got a facial from Kat. Not only did I leave with glowing skin, she gave me some great skincare tips like using vitamin c and e. I now use it daily and it has really helped. The salon is so cute and I love that it is local. I would much rather support a local salon then a hotel spa or chain. My parents purchased a gift certificate for me here after my 86 year old mother loved her experience (my brother purchased one for her from NYC as a birthday gift and she wanted me to have some self care). I really wanted a facial but had eyelash extensions so after they all came off during covid, now was the time. I went for the Gravity Defying Oxygen Facial, because well, gravity. I haven't had a facial in forever and wanted to really treat my skin, since it is afterall, the biggest organ on our body. Megan was my service provider and I'm not going to lie, I was stressed out when I walked in. I'm a Salon owner and I am highly aware of Covid protocols. But not to worry, they are way on top of the game. Sanitary, masks, bins for belongings... they are Covid compliant plus some. As for my facial, Megan was super awesome. I'm a little clausterphobic and I thought 90 minutes might be a tad too long. When we were done I was like, wait we're done?! She was amazing and the time flew by. My skin feels amazing and I loved the microcurrent part of my facial that gave me a little eyebrow lift. The products she used smelled great and the oxygen felt really nice. She was super cool and I loved that she actually talked and made me comfortable. Hopefully I will be able to see her face someday. Needless to say, I'm hooked. I purchased a membership and worked out a plan with Megan to keep my skin moving towards keeping a pretty good (shoot, I'm 50) youthful appearance. I took my daughter here on her 3rd birthday for her first spa mani/pedi experience. She had such a fun time and the staff were attentive and patient, especially dealing with an antsy toddler. The atmosphere was calm and soothing. I loved how clean it was. Even the tools they used were all in a sterilized package, which shows they have high standards on hygiene. Taylor the nail technician who did my daughter's nails was awesome! Her bubbly personality is fitting for kids as she is fun and sweet! Grace, the owner, is fantastic! We were greeted immediately and offered tea upon entering - the green tea was nice to sip on while I waited for chairs to open up. We made a reservation for 4 pedicures, but ended up waiting 10-15 minutes, which wasn't too bad since we took that time to pick out the nail polish we wanted. I was looking for green nail polish for Christmas, but they didn't have any, so I opted for gold with gold glitter. The nail technician was wonderful with the massage and treating my nails. She made sure I loved how my toes turned out, and carefully put the flip flops on me when I was ready to leave. I love this place. I am here once every two weeks for a Shellac manicure, and ALWAYS book with Juanita! She's so awesome. I am generally really picky about the shape and application job, and she just so happens to be a perfectionist :) She is incredibly patient and always does the best job on my nails. For those who wrote about the Shellac peeling off, please keep in mind that, based on my experience, different brands has different effect on different people. Recoop carries two brands: CND, which is my personal favorite, and Gellish. So if your shellac didn't work out as nicely as you expected, maybe switch to the other brand. I had been on the hunt for a good day spa in the Seattle/Bellevue area that had a few extra amenities and was reasonably affordable all things considered. You can get a pedi just about anywhere but this was a special occasion as a mini-bridal shower treat for one of my best girlfriends. Spa pedis in the area were pretty pricey so I opted to try Recoop based on the stellar reviews for Cassandra. Oh my goodness this adorable relaxing little spot in downtown Bellevue is quite the oasis as you step inside. I booked ahead to ensure we got Cassandra and she did not disappoint! As you enter you're greeted by the hostess and offered tea or water. Trust me - TRY their custom blend 'Recoop-erate Tea', with just a hint of vanilla it was delicious and a welcome addition to our Milk and Almond pedicures. The overall décor is modern, clean and rustic and I loved it! The nail studio towards the back of the main room offers several oversized comfy chairs for pedis and the luscious milk and almond soak was the perfect treat for a girls day. Polina is amazing ! Not only she gave me the best facial after trying so many places - I would always be red and my acne will get worse. I felt like Polina knew exactly how it feels to have severe acne and no one before could make my skin look so calm, not inflamed and my acne started to heal after the performed facial and the special regimen she wrote down for me!!! She was so sweet and very knowledgeable for her age. Polina took the time to review my skin care regime and make recommendations on what products would work best for me. She was the first person who didn't push me to buy products, she gave me few samples and I loved it. She also wrote down supplements and vitamins to add for my daily regimen. Oh my gosh I love this place! We had a bridal party spa morning, and the staff is super awesome. I got Lina and she will now be my go to nail gal! A sweet and strong woman, and she did such a great job on my wedding nails. My shellac taupe nails with sparkly tips were so neatly done and shaped perfectly. My toes were equally perfect. She even used an exfoliator with the sugar scrub! It is a beautiful and clean salon. Even the bathroom was elegant in a simple and clean way. The only reason why I docked a star was because one of the bridesmaids had to wait for about an hour while the rest of us got our treatments and then by the time they got to her, they didn't have time and rushed through her mani and pedis. We were all scheduled to have shellac mani and pedis and because of the lack of time (she had previous shellac that needed removal), she only got a regular pedi. She also didn't get a massage or anything which is the best part of a pedi :( read more

Had another awesome facial at Recoop with a group of girlfriends!! Definitely a great place for a quick get away. Every time I'm in town I definitely will make it a point to schedule services here. It's convenient, clean, beautiful and just really all around great and on point every time! I usually will not make comments on other people's reviews since everyone has their own "reality" (although I have done so in the past when I see unfair reviews) - in reference to Cassie M's long winded review, I've never heard of people demanding that all food and drinks be comped anywhere and then to blast a business for giving them the comp is just serious ridiculousness and sounds like someone was just trying to get away with freebies!!!! My experience started with a lovely greeting from the super friendly front staff, then whisked off to put on our cuddly robes, and RELAX in the relaxation room to enjoy some tea. Ahhh - wish I could just live here! Then off to my facial, just the right amount of cleansing and YES actual extractions - not the usual pass over that I usually get at the super pricey hotel spas. I felt super clean and fresh. And the added benefit of a quick hand massage in between was a nice touch. BTW, Adele's new album was on as well - so awesome! Loved every minute! I always stop into spas at every city I visit, around the world from Hong Kong, Thailand, Turkey, Paris, Madrid, and when I lived in New York the closest thing to this type of experience was Bliss Spa SOHO, but for 50% more in price and usually nothing to write about. I have been a member at Recoop in Bellevue for quite a few years now and wouldn't go to any other spa! The Recoop staff is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. The nail technicians are the very best of the best and take their time to make your nails look perfect. The estheticians are great at what they do but, Kat is the absolute best! I have had many facials, chemical peels, waxings, etc. and every visit is better than the last. They also never push products on you like many other spas do. The massage therapists are awesome also. I booked a massage and facial service for both my mom and I. Giving 3 stars based on amenities, facial and parking. With both services and tip, I spent close to $700 for a 90 minute massage, and 60 min facial, and had really looked forward to a day of spa pampering. I was deciding between gene juarez and a few other spas in the area, but had decided that gene juarez was just too busy to feel relaxed in, so I opted for this spa based on previous reviews. The parking is under the building, and you take a ticket stub and the spa stamps it for you at the end of your services at checkout. They should cover the entire 3 hour stay, but I still had to pay $7 afterwards. Not a huge amount of money, but still irritating after spending so much for services at their spa. The entry to the spa is seriously adorable, just as it is pictured in previous reviews. My mom and I were taken back to get ready for our spa treatments and the spa layout seems a little odd. its a small spa so Im trying to keep an open mind, but the locker room has no door which felt a little strange, but there are 2 adjacent bathrooms to change in. there was a sign for slippers, but no slippers were provided. So we both just wore our street shoes in between our massage and facials. The waiting room had serve yourself tea and water, and some small snacks. I think more of the design and money was spent on making the entry and pedicure area look amazing and not so much here. Massage: my mom and I both agreed that this service was amazing! Attentive masseuse's and the cbd oil that she added on is something my mom still raves about. I felt thoroughly relaxed and thought this was well worth the price. I had added on a scalp massage, which I would suggest to pass on, I think she just added oil to my scalp and didn't really do a scalp massage. Facial: We both had the same facialist, and was really lackluster. I've had a much better facial at my neighborhood inpa and will not be back for a facial here. She talked way too much, even though I checked off on the intake sheet that I wanted to "relax". She told me about her previous job, her birth control, and her wishes to change careers. Overall, I don't think I'd do a repeat visit here, unless my mom wanted to get another massage. Full on spa days will probably be booked elsewhere. I've thrown a divorce party here, a baby shower here, a just-because party here, and now this Sunday a bunch of friends from Highschool will be here for pedi's renting put the nail portion of the salon. This is why you need to come here. On top of that, we get to bring in food, adult beverages, and chit chat while getting quality pedi's from amazing techs! It could not be more perfect. If you're not yet convinced let me tell you another reason why you need to come here. I had an eye treatment done about a year ago and it was phenomenal. The kind of phenomenal you call all your friends and tell them about phenomenal. I've never been remotely unhappy with any service here. The last time I was here, I had the Ultimoot massage-this time I booked the Oxygen facial. With the change in weather, my face has been drier and needed some TLC, plus I was also interested to see what all the rave was about this in Hollywood. The result? Amazing. Let's just say after my facial, I felt like I was ready for the red carpet!! My dry skin was ever so moist and I looked refreshed and younger...even my boyfriend thought so and he would be the last person to even notice if I shaved my head! I've been here for nail services and waxing services. I'll start with the good first: Waxing: Polina is excellent (5 stars). I'm so grateful that I got her for my very first appointment; I've stuck with her ever since. She's well trained, knowledgable about the right procedures for different skin types and complexions, and does great work. I've done the brow waxing, underarm wax, chin wax, and betweeni here. Nail services: Disappointing (1 star). I honestly don't remember who I did them with, I just remember the quality wasn't good. They also didn't pay attention to cleaning up their work well. Front desk: Half the time I come here, no one's at the front desk. There have been at least two occasions where I walked in planning to schedule an appointment and no one was at the front desk. I sat at the front and not one employee in the nail area even bothered to ask if I needed help, or call whoever was supposed to be at the front. Very cute place and nicely decorated - very modern and spa like. Our bridal party came here for mani and pedis with the bride before her wedding and got our nails done. Shellac mani and a normal spa pedi. The bowls and seats weren't the most comfortable but they were aesthetically pleasing. They also don't give you the normal spa treatment with the foot massage and the shoulder massage, which was a bit disappointing but they do your nails like you would expect and they've lasted really well, even being out in the woods for the wedding all week. They offer water and tea, no wine/champage though. The ladies are nice and the place is clean. Overall, a good spot but do make appointments because they're not large and they are not staffed with a lot of people. There were only 1-2 other people coming in while we were getting our nails done and only 1 other lady was working on someone else. Otherwise it's about 4-5 people max on the chair at any given moment. read more

I've walked by Recoop every day for the last six months, on my way to/from work, and finally made my way in for a last minute manicure. They were able to accommodate me right away which was awesome! I received a facial treatment+ pumpkin peel last Friday (July 24th, 2015). After the treatment, my face experienced severe discomfort which I knew it's not normal. I went back to the salon right away and my esthetician and the staffs told me that just mild irritations and it would heal in no time. Unfortunately, it didn't heal or go away even the next day and I suffered severe pain at the same night. So, I went to my doctor for evaluation. My diagnosis is contact dermatitis due to chemical agent. My skin was damaged by the chemical that used in the salon.The chemical which used in the salon caused abrasion and inflammation on my face. I emailed the salon and the owner replied "every person is different" I quote and they have never had an adverse skin reaction from a customer. I do understand everyone has different skin type, however, I feel as though the spa provides a service to clients, suggesting them to do something, while the client put his/her whole trust in the hands of the esthetician. We believe what is recommended should be good for us even if I have "sensitive skin". This is all because I TRUST a licensed esthetician's knowledge of ALL skin types. No information was either given as to the process and after care, then blaming clients for having sensitive skin and provide no additional way to alleviate this discomfort they experienced. This is an extremely irresponsible way to conduct such business practice when I believed I was getting professional service and care when I paid the business. It is frustrating to me that they are allowing me to believe it is the problem of my skin type. The poor client care before and after a treatment is also disappointing. It would have been much more reassuring and much more emotionally comforting if they had showed more genuine concern- asked me to come back to the clinic so someone could take a look, personally check in to see if my skin is getting better. There was none of that in their email, only that they will tell the esthetician that it doesn't happen again. Be aware of this salon. They are nice only if there is nothing happen. read more

*Review for eyebrow wax only* I've been yelping for awhile now and it's very rare that a horrifying experience propels me to write a review. Even then, I give myself a few days to "cool off" which is what I've done and am ready to share my experience. Bottom line, I do not recommend this place for eyebrows. Recently I went back for my third brow appointment. My first two brow appointments were fantastic! I have this fear that they will wax off too much hair and mess with the shape of my brows so I make sure to repeat what it is that I'm looking for and that the esthetician can articulate it back to me. The esthetician gave me exactly what I asked for during these two appointments. The third brow appointment I had, my worst fear was realized and I was extremely upset. The esthetician, a different one from the one I had seen previously, not only took too much hair off but messed with the shape. I was left with not only thin eyebrows but she also waxed off hair where the brow starts so I have a huge gap between my brows which is very unflattering. She further went rogue and also took hair off from the front of my brows giving them a completely different shape. When she handed me the mirror to ask if I'd like any more hair removed, I was shocked at what I saw. I definitely didn't want more hair removed and told her this is not what I asked for. There was definitely a huge miscommunication because she responded by saying didn't take off much hair and had just cleaned up like what I had asked for. I completely disagree. I left the treatment room to go back to the lobby and pay. Grace, who I presume is the spa owner, was there and I told her about my subpar experience. She listened to the feedback and offered an apology but unfortunately there wasn't anything she can do. Now it'll take weeks to "undo" the damage done and in the meantime I have to spend extra time daily to fill in my eyebrows. read more
