She was super friendly the entire visit and gave me lots of honest advice and helped with suggestions for my hair type while taking into account my inspo pics. One thing I don't think I emphasized enough was how deeply Thuy ( the owner) reached into herself to be able to connect with my daughter who was struggling in so many different areas of her life on the second day she took my daughter out for happy lemon to help start her off because she picked up our conversation that my daughter liked that she shared stories of her own challenges and her experience as a parent with her own children, and a very few people have really taken their time to connect so deeply and with such authenticity. I think if people saw a challenging kids as kids with challenges and took the time and the authenticity to connect that we would have a much better world. It's been five months since we had. My daughter's hair straightened for the first time and it's been truly life-changing and my daughter has been more motivated to take care of her hair now that it is a little more manageable we will be coming in for roots touch up soon. read more

Are there more stars to give? This was a life-changing experience. My daughter has thick coarse 3B hair that form tight ringlets. It had never been cut but she's also not great of taking care of it. We had a really rough autumn and her hair got really matted not just matted but felted truly felt it. I'm actually a fiber artist, and that was intensely felted. Thuy/Owner worked with us for five hours yesterday de-matting and de-thatching her hair. If one of my pets had hair like that, the groomer would urge me to shave them rather than put them through the process, but my daughter who has autism and really loves that her hair has never been cut was willing to sit through it, she has the will of 40 Spartan soldiers. Layers of conditioner and treatment made the hair, silky, soft and smooth, but the tangled nest of hair that had tightened into a solid loaf on top of her hair still had to be done by hand. We came back today and the tight curls that dried the previous evening had already started doing their thing to twist back in, but we got to it and Thuy relaxed the curl. My daughter's hair, which is thankfully still long and thick soaked in an entire package of each of the products enough for 3 to 5 typical heads of hair. The sixth step process took another four to five hours or so. But my daughter's hair is phenomenal now it is still waist long and thick and full but now it's pin straight. My daughter has autism and anxiety, but Thuy worked to win her over with gentle authenticity that most people quite frankly don't take the time to connect on a personal authentic level. I am very proud that my daughter was able to sit through back-to-back days of such a long process and I am eternally grateful to.Thuy for her time her expertise the amazing job she did and the patient to see through the autism to connect with my daughter, giving her gorgeous hair in the process. read more

I reaaaaaally wanted to like this place, but I didn't. After a friend recommended this shop to me, I went in with pretty high expectations. I wanted a full set of acrylics and a gel pedi, called just after they opened and told me I could come now. Great! I walk in and the owner is finishing painting the other employees nails and I was told to pick a color. This was cute and I didn't think anything of it. Then got started on my pedicure. The tech did an amazing job scrubbing and massaging, but the gel color I picked "wasn't available" so she had to mix two colors together and it just didn't look right, which you can see in the pictures. A couple nails are also crooked. On to my full set - she uses clear tips (which is great) but had a hard time glueing them on for some reason. She kept getting interrupted by other customers who came in for haircuts and pedicures. When she made her way back and forth from me to them MULTIPLE times. The first time I was understanding but then I just got aggravated. When she finally came back over she said she wasn't doing as good of a job as she normally does and it's a bad day for her... And when I kept asking to fix the shape she was okay about it but ultimately didn't fix the problem (my nails are still crooked and the tips are slanted) It seemed she was very distracted and rushed to please all of her customers, which just ended up with me getting a sub-par set of nails. Her niece was in the store hanging out for a couple hours which made for pleasant conversation. I like the people here but I ended up be there from 11-3 pm.... The reservation process was really simple-- you go to their website and select service, time, and whoever you prefer to see! ezpz. Parking can be a littttle annoying if you go during the peak hours since it's in downtown Redmond, so try to go off hours (and you will get a better service since they aren't as busy!) My nails tuned out great, and Thu liked them so she took a photo of them. I really can't say a single bad thing about this place. Price is reasonable too. ($30 for shellac) And last time I got my nails done here it lasted really long time too! (until my nails were getting too long that I had to trim them) Highly recommend! :) read more

I am very honest this place was very clean. The nail technician opened up everything in front of my eyes. The customer service was spectacular from the moment I walked in. I was greeted with a warm smile. I was offered water, tea, or ginger ale while I was doing my manicure. The nail technician was very gentle which I liked and her hand massage was great. However once she got to actually painting my nails I was horrified. I picked an OPI off white color and white is a tough color to paint. It usually take three coats. She only did two. Then she did not clean the excess paint off from my cuticle. After painting them she asked me to put them to dry and then after 5 minutes she applied the top coat. This was the worst part. She applied the top coat unevenly in the nail so now I have lumps. This place has a lot of potential and I was planning on returning but the actual paint service was too messy for a $15 manicure. read more

I would have given this place fewer stars but for the service provided by the people. This is a basic nail shop that also does neighborhood hair cuts and color. Although I had a 2pm appointment for shellac manicure (Groupon) it was 2:35 before someone sat down to work on me. I was done at 3:15. Meanwhile the shop was filled with many others waiting for haircuts and manicures. The issue as I see it is that Thuy is the main service provider. She has two other women helping (basic barber cut, nail filing and general spa maintenance) but when your nails get painted or if a hair color is needed, Thuy is the one who has to do it. Consequently, there's a backlog of waiting customers. When I was there, another customer gave up and left in frustration. She was waiting for a hair color, while Thuy worked on my nails, 2 other people's nails and a women was soaking for a pedicure. Thuy kept things calm and professional but ideally the other staffers should be competent enough to take care of clients from start-to-finish. First off i want to say that my one star review has nothing to do with the 3 pedicures and 2 haircuts received today. The spa was clean and the two ladies were super nice. my daughter and son were really happy with there haircuts. My complaint is first I was overcharged. I was a new customer and they even asked if it was our first time. I did not receive the 25% off first time clients receive and that they advertise. I did not know this until after I got home and my receipt was texted to me. I was overcharged 57.50. not ok in my books. because of this shady overcharge I will not go back. please check your receipts and make sure you are charged the right amount. The second complaint is they advertise under spafinder, which is how I booked my appointment. I have a spafinder giftcard I was needing to use up. only after services were all done did they say they no longer except those yet on there website it says that they do. I am sad to say I will not be going back, because of how shady they are running there business. I do not like being ripped off or taken advantage of no matter how good the service is. we get regular pedicures once a month and haircuts once a month and if this would not have happened I would have totally made this our spot. I have thought about making this review for four years. March second of 2017 I went to get a regular shellac manicure. Turns out this was a place my biological mom used to frequent and my first and last name were on the Groupon. As a 17 year old who just got licensed i did not realize this when buying the Groupon. The nail tech recognized my name and since I look so much like my biological mother, she asked if I was "Martha's daughter" I uncomfortably said no. That should have been a cue to drop it. However the nail tech felt bold enough once i was sitting down to do my nails to lecture me about seeing my biological mother. I do not know what my biological mother told her, but I will tell you that the court did not feel I was safe to have unsupervised visitations with her. At this time in my life this was a very hard thing to hear. I was CLEARLY uncomfortable and upset. I do not remember the nail techs name, regardless this was VERY unprofessional on her part. This was an experience that left me so upset my dad had to come and grab me because I was too upset to drive home. This review is 4 years overdue and I hope the owners of this establishment train staff to keep these type of LECTURES to themselves. It was a very damaging thing to hear. Parking can be difficult though so get there early to potentially drive around the block. Only recommendation is to work on decluttering the space and making it feel more relaxing & spa like. Allure was not what I thought it would be. They do such beautiful advertising. I spent 30 minutes looking to park. It was very hot. Had a pedicure. I have no idea who the person was as she never told me her name. The salon had no ac, and was dirty. To many things going on every which way. Please, you owe it to your company to get help for your staff that does not speak English. You will far more successful if you can communicate with your clients. Worst groupon purchase ever. The deal says color, cut and style and the owner has her own interpretation of the same. additional charges for thick hair, styling means just combing your hair. Moreover very rude and poor quality service. They favored 2 regular customer for mani-pedi when the assistant was working on my color. I waited over 1 hour with color on my hair (which burnt my skin) and then over 45 min after putting conditioner (with my neck over the basin saying it will make hair smoother). The actual reason was the owner wanted to serve and gossip with her regulars. Cut was literally uneven....there was no shape no layers not ever neat look...When complained about the same, the owner went away and started eating her lunch keeping me unattended. This was, by far, the worst manicure I have ever had. I came in for a fill. The manicurist (woman with glasses) asked if I wanted my nails shorter. I said I wanted them just slightly shorter, and asked her to maintain the pointy shape. She pulled out nail clippers and cut them much shorter without asking me if the length was ok. Then she grabbed a nail file and started filing the nails all different shapes and sizes and each one was extremely asymmetrical. I repeatedly told her the nails were supposed to be pointy, not flat across the top, and the sizes weren't consistent. She also filed cuts into my skin and made me bleed even after I told her it hurt. After realizing she was incompetent and my nails were beyond repair, I told her to stop and I left. My nails are ruined. I have to go get a whole new set applied at a different salon. read more

I was a first-time pedicure customer here today, joining a friend who'd been here previously. After waiting 30 minutes past our appointment time, we were seated in the pedicure chairs which were clean and had working massagers. Things were going well, staff was friendly and in good spirits. We were there for a little holiday pampering, and the leg massage and hot stones were lovely. Toward the end of our service, another technician (possibly the owner?) who had been pleasant up to that point approached me and said, "You need to come back and let me do you hair. I'll make you look good." I was shocked. After trying to joke it off by smiling and asking her, "You don't think I look good?" she continued to tell me I needed her highlighting and hair cutting services. I was there for a pedicure, not a horribly insulting upsale for hair services. While my pedicure was fine (some uneven nails & polish not cleaned off my skin), I will not be returning to Allure. Since I moved here 2 years ago, I've been going to there. Being new to town, I looked on Yelp and found this place close-by. And, now I'm a regular. I took my husband there for a cut also. It's not a fancy salon but you don't pay the fancy prices either. The prices are reasonable and they do a great job. Linda's not there anymore, but the other girls do a great color/cut as well. I'm very particular about my hair color. I want it to look natural, but just have more depth. And, I've seen lots of highlight jobs that make women look like they are getting old (i.e. the highlights look like gray hair instead). I've never been disappointed at Salon Allure and I've gotten lots of compliments on my highlights. read more

This place was a letdown. They were the only place I could get a walk-in on a Monday, turns out that was pretty telling. The owner was nice, but her associate wasn't quite as skilled. He didn't clean under my nails, and every time he toweled off my hands there would be a little dark hair left behind. I'm hoping those were facial hairs, not pubic hairs, but regardless - having a stranger's hair on you is gross. Everything was a little dingy, I was eager to wash my hands after putting them in the drying bar.
