Update- 4 years post sleeve…read more Absolutely phenomenal from the initial meeting to now, 4 years later. My husband, myself and my husband's mother have all had gastric sleeves done with Dr. Billings. His bedside manner is wonderful. The price is high (paid out of pocket) but you get what you pay for - we literally bought ourselves more LIFE. More TIME. More ENERGY. More MENTAL SPACE (not having to worry about everything I put in my mouth). It sounds drastic- cutting out 70% of your stomach, but honestly it reset our bodies to experience fullness in a completely new way. I could always eat a little "more" before. I'd be "full" but seemed to have a second stomach or sugar/desserts. Now the experience of fullness is completely different. It's dramatic and intense- no more insane cravings to binge or mental fixation on the next diet craze. We had kids late, at 38 and 41, and I can chase after my toddler without feeling winded. I don't feel like a constant failure for eating carbs. The only food I can't tolerate that I could pre-sleeve is dairy milk. All meats, nuts, raw veggies, etc are fine. A lot of people have negative bias against gastric sleeves because they know someone who did it a decade or more ago and it "didn't work" long term. I'm here to say the technology has improved dramatically. I believe it's going to be incredibly common in the US in the next 10 years and will be solution to the obesity epidemic for those of us who were raised by the 50 billion dollar diet industry. Note- I'm not a fan of ideal protein, the low calorie nutritional program they have- I did it 4x at other places before getting sleeved. Always gained the weight back after the program ended and I was starving while doing it. After being sleeved, I no longer have to worry about food. I yo-yo dieted for 27 years (since I was 10 years-old). I was always 30-60lbs overweight, not huge but mentally the load was insane. To be honest, the recovery was fairly simple. Easier than my C-section when I was fat. Pain was only bad days 1 and 2. I lost 100lbs and have effortlessly kept it off for 4 years, I am 43 years-old and even had baby #2 after surgery. The 29lbs I gained during this time pregnancy fell off effortlessly in 6 weeks postpartum. When I was fat I gained 60lbs and only lost 10lbs afterwards (my baby was 10lbs so I held onto the extra 50 lb weight gain post baby #1). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Billings and his team when it comes to gastric sleeve surgery.

He is an amazing surgeon, always takes the time to thoroughly walk through procedures with me and address questions and makes himself personally available to contact if I have any complications from procedures. With the current state of healthcare in the U.S., it is rare to find a clinic where the focus is truly on the client, adequate time is taken to personally know you and address any questions or concerns, and it is evident they care about your well-being. When I stalled and reached out, it was handled negatively, without good information. If it wasn't for my bff who had been through this before, I wouldn't have known what to do on a stall. My FULL BODY HAIR REMOVAL has been a real challenge. They use to use a different laser which I won't dwell on, just be thankful they have a new laser that works very well. I thought I would post my story for any of you out there that care. I have been going to the Lynnwood American Skincare location since October of 2012. I am a 31 year old female that had been suffering with an abundance of unwanted facial hair since I was 15yo or so. Due to my insecurities I didn't talk to anyone about it when I was younger and continued to suffer silently well into adult hood. I tried several things to rid myself of the unwanted hair - waxing, plucking, using an epilator...... yeah ouch!..... all failed. So everyday before I left my house I had to shave...... This year for an early Christmas present my parents offered to pay for laser hair removal and ordered me to make an appointment! LOL - I had tried to do this before, but had, had a awful consultation experience with another location or was it this one, under different management - not really sure! This time meeting with the girls at American Laser Skincare in Lynnwood, WA was a completely different experience. I found ALL of them to be pleasant, caring and great at what they do. All of them have been very supportive of my whining about the process... Face it... it's a laser - IT HURTS!! but there effective ways to make it tolerable. :) By my 3rd treatment (one a month for 10 treatments), I had at least a 75% visible, reduction (if not more) in the treatment area - which for what I was growing, is a HUGE amount. i no longer have to shave EVERY time I leave the house. No longer do I care, or have to check..... The freedom from the mirror and confidence these wonderful ladies have given to me is priceless. For all of you naysayers out there - this is my story and experience - this doesn't mean that ever person is going to have great results. In 2 weeks I go back for my 5th treatment out of 10 and was told at my last treatment that they are getting in a new laser machine and it is the Cadillac of lasers..... Katie addresses concerns of the people attending the class, it's not just her speaking and trying to sell you things you don't need. The hypnosis isn't magic, but it really helps you get on track and stay on track. She has CD's for sale at the mini classes and they are really great, and not just for weight loss either. I have CD's for procrastination, stress and a few just for weight loss. After listening to the CD's every night and sometimes during my lunch break, I was able to drop 30 pounds. They provided me with 6 months of testosterone for $1500 after the first 6 months I went back and I paid another $1500, Back in July 2022 weeks before I was going to run out, I called the office, I emailed the office multiple times trying to get a refill before running out of testosterone...... Well they never replied and never called back, so I decided to show up at the clinic, when I showed up I told him I needed to get a refill, Maurice, the office person offer me to provide me an entire year of testosterone for $2,500 instead of paying two payments of $1500, and I accepted it: They also offered me to get me Phntermine to loose weight, for another $400 more, to which I accepted, They ran my card and I left, 2 weeks later I'm still waiting for the refill to show up at my door, so I decide to call the pharmacy to ask for the Phentermine, the pharmacy tells me they dont have any prescription orders for me, So I called the clinic to get an ETA on the testosterone and to cancel the Phentermine prescription since they never sent it to the pharmacy, to my surprise: Maurice couldn't even find my transaction, he couldn't even find the order, I showed him my receipt up in person to prove that I did pay $2500 and another $400 for the phentermine, I told him I wanted to cancel the phentermine and to order the testosterone and he told me that Dr Washington was going to talk to me and I said OK. This time the Dr tried to pull a fast one on me: he's like: "unfortunately we no longer order the testosterone for patients, Im going to give you a prescription so you can get the testosterone on your own" and I asked him what about my $2,500? He's like "oh, thats just the service fee from getting you the prescription, we no longer pay for the testosterone" I said: Why Maurice offered me to cover an etire years worth for $2500? And he is like "He made a mistake" then he is like: "I'll tell you what: I'll give you the phentermine for free and I will give you the prescription for the testosterone it will be cheaper if you buy it yourself". WTF? I told him look Dr, I'm not playing here: I was promised a years worth of testosterone for $2500 thats what I want honored, I dont want free stuff, as amatter of fact I dont want the phentermine and I want a refund of those $400 or I'll have an attorrney talk to you? He quickly said: "No, no I'll get you the testosterone" to which I was like Mhhhh? Is he doing something illegal here? Because as soon I mention attorney, his demeanor changed and quickly wanted to be friendly! Anyways I left agreeing that he will send the a years worth of Testsoterone and refund of $400. Well 3 weeks later I still didnt receive a refund of the $400 so I had to do a charge back on that, the testosterone finally showed up at my house. BUT GUESS WHAT? Sneaky Dr Washington only ordered 4 months worth: I only got 30 doses total, 2 doses per week thats only 4 months. (check picture attached) I think Dr Washington thought I wasnt going to say anything or do anything about it, but now that I have all the documentation with me, he will now hear from an attorney shortly.
