If you need more assistance, they'd be happy to help- but otherwise, you have free reign! If you want to change up the colors on the picture, that's definitely allowed and they'll give you a different paint palette so you can achieve that! She was very patient and knowledgable while trying to teach all of us how to paint our masterpieces. She and her staff were attentive to our needs and made it a fun experience for all. I found that any age from toddlers on up can participate and have fun painting. She even managed to console a 5 year old that was a little upset that her painting wasn't quite coming out like hers and gave her a clean canvas to paint a cat on which is one of her favorite animals and it was all good. Over the summer I signed up for a paint splatter session when they were set up at Buried Acorn…read moreBrewery. I paid a little extra for the black canvas, which was a good move, because it looks extra cool! They have a tent set up, and start a timer. You get an apron and shoe coverings, and a paint caddy with up to four colored paints. After a quick tutorial in splattering technique, you get to toss paint at your canvas for fifteen minutes. This was so fun and therapeutic, and I loved seeing the painting take shape. At the end of the evening, I got to take my creation home in a pizza box, which was super convenient to prevent messes. This was such a fun experience and I would definitely recommend checking out their classes (I may do the same, when I have the time.) My painting looks excellent hanging above my desk and gives me little intermittent bursts of joy whenever I look up at it during the course of my work day. Right Mind Syracuse is always popping up at spots around town with really darling craft workshops, and I love to see it.

I attended two venetian plaster classes prior to attending the classes at Buon Fresco. One was a 5…read moreday class and another a 3 day class. Having taken the three that I did, if I had to only take one, I would 100% choose Buon Fresco. Communication was very excellent and documents were organized in a timely manner. All my questions were answered in a clear and concise manner while organizing our class dates. There was nothing I was uncertain of when I showed up for the first day of class. As for the classes themselves, there are nuances and insights to Victoria's instruction that distinguish her from the rest and let you know you're in the presence of someone who has mastered this craft. Beyond the application of plaster there are courses offered which the other classes ( I attended ) didn't address at all. Most notably among them is the color theory class. The ability to color match and create custom color for clients will infinitely distinguish you from everyone else. Marbling courses are a must for anyone looking to further distinguish themselves and watching Victoria take a blank white board and transform it into a piece of marble is worth the cost of admission alone. Additionally there is a business course offered which contained valuable insights into industry specific best practices. There are also a few additional, more advanced courses, which I didn't have the time to take unfortunately. All that being said, I can't recommend Buon Fresco enough. Highest marks for sure. If you're interested in learning venetian plaster, based on my experiences, this is the school to go to, period.

There are two wheels and she guided my friend and I amidst great conversation. The space is small and cozy but enough to be distanced while working (we all wore masks). She chooses the glaze on her own and I loved my items when I picked them up. Kelly is a very sweet person and I thoroughly enjoyed the session + her company :)

Very crowded and lots of socializing so didn't snag many photos that night but tonight I attended a screening in the auditorium & made sure to capture some of the beauty!
